Small update on the progress:
The hud type 0 (the standard rpg hud) is recreated without dirty hooks (meaning more compatiblity).
Also I hereby announce that the RPG Hud will not be continued!
But don't panic!
I was working on two other mods before (Item Informations and some sort of Hit Damage Indicator) and I'll fuse those mods (and every mod that'll change the interface in any way that I'll create later) into one single mod.
At the moment I call this mod "Interface+" or "InterfacePlus".
As usual every feature can be toggled of (so if you'll use another mod, for examplethe hit damage indicator, you can simply turn the one Interface+ provides off).

I think as long as it contains the same functionality of the RPG Hud and also has the added other things you mentioned I can be totally ok with it! I really like how you make everything toggle-able as this lets you configure it in-game without messing with configs....so much easier. Once you have a forum post or Curse post for the new mod, link it here or PM it to me so I can continue to follow you and your progress!

Who likes config files anyways? You are here to play the mod and not go through some config files!
I will add a config file tho, but that'll be because certain features could cause problems with other mods so you have an emergency config file where u could disable the stuff that causes problems.
The new mod will have all the features of this mod plus some more.
I just think this goes beyond what you would call a HUD so I think it's time to give it a new name
Once I release it will will definitly link it here.
BTW if you ar einterested in what is finished already (yes I know the widget image is missing XD):

Sweet! Love to see progress pics, so if you have time during the development of the new mod it would be cool to see the occasional teaser pics!!! Looking forward to the new mod!

You want progress pics, eh? U can have them^^
Making a screenshot and posting it is not really that time consuming
Current stage (basic hud is done - now working on the settings):
so far everything is as compatible as possible.
adding the mod settings however will hook into the Ingame Menu.
If you guys got another mod that is using that menu, give me a call and I add compatiblity for that mod
I used a similar feature in my mod "Fantasy of Minecraft" (which is discontinued for now).
You'll see a textbox in the Minecraft Main Menu that'll tell you something I saved in a txt file on my webserver.
I can show you a different text without editing the mod (for new about the mod and something like that).
For example something like this (short version): "Work on the 1.1 version has started. 1.1 will be compatible with MC 1.8 as well as 1.7.10"
For now there are no news so excuse my standard text x)
Here have a look!
As you can see it will tell you your version of the mod (in this case 1.0) and the latest version (for now I used 1.0 even tho it's not released yet).
Another nice feature about this is that it'll tell you if the version you instaleld is outdated.
In that case it will also show you a short changelog of the most important changes (up to 6 changes for now).
Take a look at this (again the versions are not final and just versions I used to test this):
Before you guys start complaining:
Yes this feature will be toggleable as well.
I know there are mods out there that'll edit the main menu as well.
depending on how they creators did it it might not be compatible with this feature hence the possiblity to toggle it off
So what do you guys think about this? Is it just annoying or do you like it?
I'd like to hear (read) your opinion
If I might make a suggestion, See if you can reach out to the dev of custommainmenu, would be a cool feature to have and you guys could collaborate together

I probably wouldn't use that feature so much (it is rather large)...making that a config based toggle may be smart too for the compatibility side. Thanks for the progress screens...starting to look good again! Awesome stuff!

i'm always open for suggestions.
Could you go a bit more into detail about what you think I could do with those guys?
Allows for total recontsruction of the minecraft main menu. Your idea is really cool, so thinking maybe talk to him and see if you guys could incorporate your idea into his mod to give it even more customization. Would be an awesome addition to the features that mod allows and with you helping I think would bring fresh ideas.

I'll think about it
Another node on the current progress.
I'm working on the Damage Numbers. I can write the number and spawn a particle. jsut not a particle containing the number
This whole custom texture thingy for particles is hard to understand so this could delay the whole thing a bit.
If someone of you know someone (or him/herself) who knows how it works, I'd gladly take the help
But even if not I'll figure it out. just will take some time

I was going to suggest maybe asking the author of Hit Splat Damage Indicators, but it appears that he may be MIA at this time and users on 1.8 are noticing some weird "Night Vision" like effect when targeting a mob. It was suggested that this effect was due to the fact that he wasn't using the State Manager and instead was making OpenGL calls directly....you probably understand that a little better than I do.
Also, not sure if you had noticed, but RPG Hud has had over 800 downloads since you put it up on Curse! So I would say that, YES, people are still interested in using it. I'm sure once you get Interface+ finished or in a workable state, you will see a large interest for it as well! Hope you can get that particles thingy figured out pretty quickly!

Good Luck!
I'm working on it xD
And the problem isn't adding numbers. it's changing the texture to something that isn't vanilla xD

Hows the progress of Interface+ going? Did you figure out the particles issue you were having? Just touching base with you...no rush. Interested to see how things are going. Hope all is well!

Can you give me the source code?
What do you need the source code for?
Or more precisely what do you intend to do with it?
I want update it to 1.8
The source code of this version is - bluntly said - crap noone should use again.
I'm working on it - also on the 1.8 version.
But I can make a quick 1.8 version if that's what you'd like to have.
I recreated all the features of the last version.
Can you make it support Hunger Overhaul mod?
