I don't know if someone did this before, but I translated the mod to german. I am interested in what you think. Maybe it could been added in the next version by default..
Just copy the xml file to Better_Archery_1.6.2_for_1.6.2.zip\assets\quivermod\lang\

I'll take any translations I can get if they're good enough.
Looks like you might have missed the splitting arrow text, though. If you're wondering how the splitting arrow names are put together, take a look at the spoiler in the OP labeled "Translating". If you still have questions about it, just ask.

The point is, that I don't understand the text ^^. Maybe I need a picture or the text how it would look like. Then I would know how to translate it right ^^
I found a little small rare thing.
there is something wrong with your longbow I think.
if I shoot with you longbow the arrow fly to a hole other direction but he will land on the right spot but he don't fly to there.
I have test it with firearrow in above a forrest.
the other bows shoot the arrows in the right direction.

All right, here's how it puts it together, in proper English:
It starts with splitting.prefix.beforeNum, then the number of arrows (in Arabic numerals) is after that, then splitting.prefix.afterNum. Then after that, if splitting.usePlural is set to the exact text "true" (case sensitive, I think), it puts the arrow name as a plural, otherwise it'll put the name of the arrow in singular. After that, it puts splitting.postfix.
I try to explain it again.
it's very hard my english is not the best.
the problem is that the arrow fly in a other direction than it should be.
but the arrow land were he must land but he don't fly to there.
like I shoot on a tree, the arrow fly left or right of the tree but then the arrow "spawnd" in the tree and the tree is on fire.
it's like that the arrow fly and there is a lot of wind that make the arrow change of direction.
it is only with the longbow, everything else in the mod works perfect.
What he means is that when firing an arrow from the longbow, the particle's trail effect "bounces" left or right when hitting the target, but the arrow itself behaves normally: that is, it flies in a parabola until it lands and gets stuck or hits the target.
if you shoot from a far distance the arrow already "bounces" left of right before hitting the target, but the arrow will land on the aimed spot but doens't fly to there.
Weird. I could have sworn it was working fine for me. Does this happening depend on how far back you pull the bow?
Edit: Just a note, the arrows actually teleport when they land, because the server sends a position update to the client a bit after it lands. Not sure if that's related to the problem you're seeing.
hi i have some ideas like a grapple arrow that hooks to its target and makes a climable rope when it hits and a wither bow made frome wither skle bones (new drop) and a water arrow that places water where it lands!

I like the grapple arrow idea. Maybe just place some string at the end of the arrow in a crafting table to make it.
Hi, very nice mod, but one question. Is there any way to hide to the Quiver Hotbar? And if not, could you change it to auto-hide it if the player doesn't have a bow selected? Maybe a bit of transparency would be nice too. It takes a fairly large chunk of screen real-estate, which is an issue if your are for example recording youtube videos.
Sorry I haven't replied to your posts in a while, I've been a bit busy working on a pretty big new mod (adds a new dimension :o), and school's started (though I'm not very busy school-wise).
In reply to the posts about the mod reviews, thanks for them. Mod reviews are some of the highest forms of praise for a Minecraft mod, IMO.
Hi, I have a idea, maybe you can add a crossbow, that means more speed for the arrow, fly straighter, more damage.
I've had this suggested a few times already, but it's something that would take a lot of time and thought to do it right. That's not something I really want to spend time on right now, though, but maybe I'll get around to it someday. I expect another mod will add them too, though.
for some reason the quiver hotbar isn't showing with me, i have installed the renderplayerapi and forge, but it doesn't show.
the rest off the mod works fine and i really love all the bows and options, just that i dont have the quiver hotbar at top which makes it hard to see which arrow i have selected (did a little test and i can cycle between all the arrows in my quivers without trouble).
great mod.
Hmm, not sure what could be wrong. What version of Minecraft Forge do you have?

Oh and also:
I'll add the config option next release (which may not come too soon because I'm working on another mod), but in the meantime, you can hide the hotbar by setting the hotbar vertical offset to a negative value (probably has to be greater than 25ish to hide it completely).

So is only the Pre Release 1.6.2 compatible, or is that a type on your/curse's part?
There are multiple versions on CurseForge for 1.6.2. Just look through the list.
I don't understand what you're saying, sorry.
Read the licensing spoiler in the OP.
What doesn't work?
Edit: It's possible you got the Player API instead of the RenderPlayer API, other people have made that mistake.

Um... Nope. Don't see it. Even removed the config I had and let it re-generate in case it was an old config interfering.
Was there supposed to be some kind of "grapple" or "rope" arrow? For some reason I got that idea in my mind, but I can't find it in the mod.

Hmm, that's rather odd. What version of the mod are you using? It's possible you have the version before I added that config option.
I haven't added any arrows like that yet, no.
What you expected me to put something here?!?
I'm running 1.6.3.1
Hmmm. Too bad, would be cool. Wonder where I got that idea from?
This is an AWESOME mod. Keep up the good work and keep updating.

edit: infact it's missing from both versions of the 1.6.2 build
