I tried installing this mod alongside Forge, Optifine (D2), Better Animations Collection Revived, MAtmos, & Bladecraft. When I go to the Combat Screen, Minecraft freezes for a second, then pulls up this Error:

Which of the mods I am using alongside your mod causing Minecraft to crash?
The error doesn't look like it's related to any of your mods (and it would seem to indicate you had your creative screen up, not a combat screen, whatever that is). Do you not get this error if you don't have my mod installed?
Preview of the how far the drill arrows may be able to drill into the ground. I think I'm gonna see if I can make it so that the hardness it uses is for a pickaxe, so that would mean blocks like dirt, sand, wood and leaves won't break nearly as easily.

I looked at how far it should go. 6 should be the max limit.
Sorry so brief,
I am going to be gone for 2 days.
I am leaving now and I wont be back until Thursday.
Love your mod!Probably the length of the shorter sand block tower.
I used to do Archery, and on the Middle of the String where you clip the Arrow in, there is a piece of Fabric/Leather that stops your hands from Seriously hurting when you pull against the String. Without it your fingers would probably bleed from the pressure
Interesting. I may just add one piece of leather to the middle of the normal bow crafting recipe, though.
Hi Zaggy, I really like the bow mod. Especially the fact that the bows all have their unique abilities and disadvantages.
However I noticed that you havn't added in a bow which has a fast draw back, but poor range.
Would you consider maybe adding in a shortbow or a composite bow? It would have a fast draw back due to the bow's small size. Yet it lacks the range and accuracy that of a normal bow to balance it out.
To build it, you would have to craft bones into strips, smelt string or beef into sinew and then add sticks and craft it in a workbench in a sandwich formation to represent how composite bows are built in layers.
Sweet idea, I may do that after I'm done with this release. Boy, I'm not gonna be able to keep up with all the ideas people are giving me now.
Edit: Those would have better durability than a normal bow, right?
Did you install in jar or mods folder? This mod needs to be in your jar.
QuiverMod{1.2.1} [QuiverMod] (Better Bows 1.2.1 for 1.5.2.zip) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post-initialized->Available->Available->Available->Available
You can tell he installed it wrong from this line, if he installed it correctly the bit in the parentheses would say minecraft.jar.
Btw, the drill arrows will have an 80% chance of dropping blocks it breaks. Pretty good chance, but not when you're mining diamonds. Also, the item you pick up from the arrow will have a broken flint tip so you'll have to re-craft the flint on it.
That's amazing!
I guess they would have higher durability seeing they're made from bone and wood. I made a mistake: I meant to say smelt the string or beef or flesh to make the animal glue. Which binds the strip bones and wood together.
I think sinew was used to make string in the old days. but spider string would work just as well!
Sorry if it's been mentioned before, or already beeing implemented, would you also consider adding in a recipe to create iron arrows or arrowheads? Which maybe give a slightly more damage (perhaps half a heart more) than a flint arrow?
So the crafting would go something like:
Smelt rotten flesh, get glue
Blue a bone and three sticks together (keep it simple, not too many dummy items :P), get three bonded wooden bit thingies
Craft the bonded wooden bit thingies like a normal bow and get a fast bow?
New features:
* Added a new bow, the yumi, a Japanese bow with a bit less power than a longbow.
* Drill arrow, it will drill through usually six blocks of stone before stopping. The amount will vary according to what type of material it hits.
Other changes:
* Made two creative tabs, one for bows and one for arrows.
* Made the server send which arrow type a player has selected to all the players around the player pulling back their bow, so now you can tell what arrow another player is using. Also, this fixes a bug that caused a GL stack overflow when other players on multiplayer pulled back their bows.
* Moved modded explosion code to a new mod file so it doesn't get overwritten by any mods.
* Made timed explosive arrows require two gunpowder instead of one.
* Changed the longbow's animation to move one pixel at a time, which doubles its frame number.
Bugs fixed:
* Arrows and strings showing on unstringed bows.
* Longbows turned into non-damaged versions of themselves when broken.
The yumi is crafted somewhat like a normal bow, with three string on the left, and cane in four slots towards the top and the free bottom left slot.
The drill arrow is crafted by putting a sticky piston in the middle of a crafting table, then putting four arrows along the bottom and up the left side, and putting a redstone torch to the right of the piston.
I'll be updating the first post as soon as I get done backporting it to 1.5.1.
Man, it's so much easier not formatting the changelog for the forum.
Edit: the drill arrow's crafting recipe is messed up, I'll update the link ASAP.
Edit 1: Done, go ahead and download it.

And Zaggy is it possible u can add so u can change bow color with dye? then we can have like 15 colors?
No, the way tools'/weapons' damage is stored, it wouldn't work right (there's probably a way to get it working, but it would require a new renderer for rendering it as a dropped item and in the inventory).
