I tried to remove the blocks from the area with worldedit and ended up just corrupting my map. I had to remove the mod, join the server then close it/readd the mod.
It seems to have only removed the affected blocks in the chunks that have loaded while I was on without the mod installed, so hopefully I have minimal damage and I hope it doesn't happen again.
Probably this mod. The method in question normally calls values from a simple array, but mine has to grab the tile entity first. This is probably another case of bad coordinates being fed to the block. At least, that's my take on it.
Ah. Ty for the reply
Is it something you can/would fix for 1.6.4? or too isolated/troublesome to bother with? I can't even login without it crashing at this point so unless something changes I'm gonna have to drop one mod or the other ;_;

Unrelated, Your mod is amazing! Its easily in my top five favorite mods ever. Especially the collapsable block, its all kinds of awesome.
I'm glad you merged painters flower pot too.

Sorry you had to do that. I have added the problem to my list of things to look into. If anything I can check for invalid values and just return false. This will at least prevent it from crashing the client.

Kale, the latest version checks if the coordinates are valid first before attempting to calculate lighting - please give it a try. If it still crashes, I can throw in a null pointer check to see if that helps.
Tested with 2.0.3, At first I thought it had fixed it, but then I realized that the new version removed all the carpenters blocks from my world, and thats why it seemed like it was working. XD (Not too terrible, My server is still in testing mode so I only lost about 20-25 minutes of work.)
But as soon as I placed some slopes back down, and tired interacting with a sculpted block from minepainter...

Okay, I just reuploaded v2.0.3 with a fix for that specific crash.
It's very unusual that it's calling lighting for BlockCoverable, which might also explain why the error is strange. The port to 1.7.2 has broader block checks that should avoid these types of crashes.
EDIT: Lotus3498, I think I found the cause of the crash you were experiencing and have patched the v2.0.3 download with a possible fix. I couldn't reproduce it, but I do believe this change will fix it.
First, Your awesome. Anyone that works so quickly like this just to help someone else out is amazing. /Respect.
Second, The problem seems to be gone! Thanks a ton! I'm totally psyched that I can use both mods together. Carpenter's Blocks &
MinePainter are my favorite mods hands down!

Its been working fine all day, I've been using most blocks from both mods. But I hadn't placed any carpenter's torches. (or block, bed, button, daylight sensor, gate, ladder, lever, or safe. Also haven't used chisel yet. All of those things are still absent from my world I think.) The moment I placed a carpenter's torch down, I crashed. /dropedicecream.jpg
I suppose, in hindsight, I should have tested all of the blocks to begin with and not just what I was using. ;_;
Edit: I also havent used dye on anything as of yet, for whatever thats worth.

Much appreciated, I'm shocked by how fast you responded. Going to donate ~50 euros here in a bit, thanks for the awesome mod -- it's really one of the most amazing mods I've seen.

I don't think this has been asked yet, but would it be possible to make minecart rails placable on Carpenter's Slopes? It'd make it possible to have sloping rails that aren't just impossibly unsupported over empty air when going up and down, and would make things look so much neater.

The torch and flower pot also contribute to block lighting; I just forgot to fix their code. I'll patch the download in a bit.

Would only be possible if I were to support Forge Multipart with my slopes. Then Railcraft would also have to support it. That's a lot of support needed for a simple feature. It's not a big priority for me, and I've never even looked into the difficulty involved in supporting it.
EDIT: Okay, download patched at time of this edit to correct lighting crashes with MinePainter, and perhaps other mod blocks. I tested it with all my blocks, so it should be good now.
Hey!
First: Thanks to you for the mod, I love it! I do it with many mods, but Carpenter's Blocks is one of my favourite.
Second: I'll be honest, I wasn't careful when I looked at the problem, but as I think, your blocks (slopes in my case) don't do anything with snow. I mean, when snow falls on a CB slope, it won't become snowy. Should I look over again (I'm not at home yet), or they really don't change on snow. If not, could you make something with it?
I'm using Seasons and Better Snow (and some more, but they are not related in this), so in winter that would be awesome if blocks turned to snowy and in spring-summer changes to natural. Is there any way to do it?
Thanks!
Whoa! Old post. The changelog is in the Download spoiler in OP. It goes back all the way to v1.0.
1. My lighting currently doesn't play nice with half slopes. It's a bug I intend to figure out, just not now. And a more capable collapsible block is more likely than any half slope implementation, mainly because it will accomplish nearly the same amount of customizability.
2. I would have to write new render methods just for snow. Yikes. And it wouldn't work the way snow normally does because my block would have to pretend to have snow on top.

Oh. Never mind. I'm running the wrong version. -____- Is there a 1.7.2 option?
Pushed another small patch to the download. Still 2.0.3, just less buggy client-side. It addressed the double messages, and one other bug I noticed.
The sound not playing bug was actually from the initial move to MC 1.6+, but I never got around to looking into it. But it was never working 100%, so it's not a big deal.
Silverwood planks and greatwood planks from TC4.1 don't work. What's weird though is that the logs of each do work. This was tested using 2.0.3 and TC 4.1.0e
If a block doesn't work as a cover, it's intentional. I may be able to lift the restriction for MC 1.7+, but it's a delicate subject. I can't use covers with tile entities for block logic - only texturing. We'll see.
It seems to have only removed the affected blocks in the chunks that have loaded while I was on without the mod installed, so hopefully I have minimal damage and I hope it doesn't happen again.

Download should be up-to-date as of this edit.
Second, The problem seems to be gone! Thanks a ton! I'm totally psyched that I can use both mods together. Carpenter's Blocks &
MinePainter are my favorite mods hands down!
Thanks Mineshopper!

/afk banging my head against a brick wall.
I suppose, in hindsight, I should have tested all of the blocks to begin with and not just what I was using. ;_;
Edit: I also havent used dye on anything as of yet, for whatever thats worth.
Much appreciated, I'm shocked by how fast you responded. Going to donate ~50 euros here in a bit, thanks for the awesome mod -- it's really one of the most amazing mods I've seen.
Edit: We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the "Ask Seller a Question" link on the listing page. When you have the correct email address, payment can be made at www.paypal.com.
The torch and flower pot also contribute to block lighting; I just forgot to fix their code. I'll patch the download in a bit.
Sorry about that, it's probably never worked. I just updated the link with a new one from PayPal.
Looks nice
Would only be possible if I were to support Forge Multipart with my slopes. Then Railcraft would also have to support it. That's a lot of support needed for a simple feature. It's not a big priority for me, and I've never even looked into the difficulty involved in supporting it.
EDIT: Okay, download patched at time of this edit to correct lighting crashes with MinePainter, and perhaps other mod blocks. I tested it with all my blocks, so it should be good now.
Thanks again. XD
I plan on extending the functionality of the block eventually.
As it is the port to 1.7.2 is having some major issues w/regards to rendering, so can't get to new stuff until that's done.
Thanks!
If you look at the previous page it was discussed already
// I bet Cylons wouldn't have this problem.

Oh. Never mind. I'm running the wrong version. -____- Is there a 1.7.2 option?
I wish.
The sound not playing bug was actually from the initial move to MC 1.6+, but I never got around to looking into it. But it was never working 100%, so it's not a big deal.
If a block doesn't work as a cover, it's intentional. I may be able to lift the restriction for MC 1.7+, but it's a delicate subject. I can't use covers with tile entities for block logic - only texturing. We'll see.
