Version 1.3 posted. Op will need some major changes - I'll get to it when I can. Go ahead and read the change log to see what all has changed.
You can safely migrate your worlds from previous versions without losing your slopes.
Many config options have also changed and/or disappeared. Don't expect settings to "stick" if you change them, because they may in fact no longer exist. Optifine custom colors, for instance, is hard-coded now.
Hoto and painter73: if you keep experiencing the slopes losing their properties, let me know. I have altered the TE a bit in hopes of fixing it, but I won't post it in change log until the problem has been verified as "fixed."
In the next update can you please add vertical slab slope thingy like this The only reason why I came here is since I thought it had that so I will be VERY happy if you add this. I have looked everywhere for sideway slabs for this whole week
In the next update can you please add vertical slab slope thingy like this The only reason why I came here is since I thought it had that so I will be VERY happy if you add this. I have looked everywhere for sideway slabs for this whole week
I might do slabs later - currently it's time for a break unless bugs pop up.
Hint for update to V 1.3 if you have changed the ID's in older versions:
The mod creates a new config-file CarpentersBlocks.cfg and don't read the ID's from older versions (CarpentersSlopes.cfg).
So best
a ) make a Backup of our world
b ) Start Minecraft with the new Version CarpentersBlock mode, but don't load a World! Quit Game and then change in the new config-file the ID's for Slopes and Hammer according to what was used before.
If you don't do so, you loose your slope-blocks in your world !
You should get in touch with immibis. Great things could happen with Carpenter's Blocks and Immibis' Microblocks.
In fact, I've just realised that both your mod and immibis' are open source. Have you looked into any of immibis' code whilst creating this?
Not really, mainly just Forge tutorials. Getting in touch with more popular mod authors would only serve to humble me as my Java experience is fairly light.

So I gave it a little thought. For the next future update, I will provide two more special case exceptions for sloping roofs. I will also add a simple slab implementation; they won't stack, but they will be capable of being placed vertically or horizontally. I may even make them microblock style by making the depth adjustable with the hammer. That last part is just a thought though.
Compatibility test
i can say almost every "decorative" block can be added to your carpenter blocks
except Machines, technical blocks and some blocks with animated textures.
All Mod blocks i have tested act on all slopes stairs, fences & gates in all directions and versions.
Hi LOCSA,
Glad to hear it's working as intended. The graphical glitches I presume is the common z-fighting issue. It's not a big deal, as it's happening in an area of Minecraft's code that I don't touch.
All of this mod's blocks use a base class that handles mostly everything, so if a cover block works for one, it will work for them all. It makes adding new blocks a breeze, as well.
Got a client crash (server stays up) when placing one gate next to another gate because I saw the phrase "double gate" in the OP and wanted to try it out.
Note : I have no idea why this is talking about railcraft in the error log. There are NO rail craft blocks anywhere nearby. They are plain, carpenter gates that have no covers yet, between two carpenter fences with no cover yet either.

--- END ERROR REPORT faea87dc ----------
Crappy representation of the situation.
o = fence post.
- = gate
o- o
attempting to place the second gate like ... o--o causes the crash.
I'm in the middle of an empty field, and no other blocks but the grass underneath is nearby.
EDIT : I tried this same set up somewhere else... and it worked with no issues. It was oddly enough, just that one spot on my world?
So I gave it a little thought. For the next future update, I will provide two more special case exceptions for sloping roofs. I will also add a simple slab implementation; they won't stack, but they will be capable of being placed vertically or horizontally. I may even make them microblock style by making the depth adjustable with the hammer. That last part is just a thought though.
That casting issue kind of has me scratching my head. I can correct it on my end by doing a sanity check, but I don't believe I need to. I've placed blocks with tile entities all around the gates, but it's not throwing any casting exceptions.
BTW in the op I didn't mean side-by-side configuration, just that the gate can be made two tall. Sorry for the confusion.
I'm reluctant to issue a patch until I know for certain that I need to correct this on my end. I will get around to fixing it otherwise late tomorrow.
The first time it happened to me, I could just log in and the gate was gone and therefore no issue.
The second time it happened, it crashed me like before, same error. but this time gives me a "Ticking Error" and won't let me rejoin the world...
I'll have to use MCedit to delete the offending gate...
EDIT :
So I opened my world in MCedit... and saw...
Like landmines all over my world... thousands of "Railcraft : block.hidden" strewn about. This is what is causing the issue. I'm setting my rail craft configs ID I:block.hidden=0 to see if it will remove them... I have no idea why they are there, as the map never used any kind of map gen, and I made it by hand with Map Painter program.
I have needed this slope too !! Hopefully we'll get it soon.
Regarding the additional roof slopes:
OP updated with relevant information. Some new screenshots posted, etc. Hopefully that covers everything.
I might do slabs later - currently it's time for a break unless bugs pop up.
In fact, I've just realised that both your mod and immibis' are open source. Have you looked into any of immibis' code whilst creating this?
The mod creates a new config-file CarpentersBlocks.cfg and don't read the ID's from older versions (CarpentersSlopes.cfg).
So best
a ) make a Backup of our world
b ) Start Minecraft with the new Version CarpentersBlock mode, but don't load a World! Quit Game and then change in the new config-file the ID's for Slopes and Hammer according to what was used before.
If you don't do so, you loose your slope-blocks in your world !
Not really, mainly just Forge tutorials. Getting in touch with more popular mod authors would only serve to humble me as my Java experience is fairly light.
Aye, I will mention it in OP.

Don't worry about it Mineshopper.
