1. (They pop off when you right click with another block, which is sad.... But) Tested in the new version and it fixed it. Thanks!
You also can't just up and break the slope itself. which is good. All blocks you put as a cover become unbreakable. I'm using this to make some unbreakable glass.
And I'm also using the fact that these do not block light to put my torches in the wall out of sight, behind the slope, and out of greedy players hands while they are adventuring. it really makes controlling what I give the players easier. :]
3. Some do, some don't. And the ones that do add a new block ID for every step, and it can really start to bog down your load times when 10 different mods add 20 different steps, 20 slabs. etc. Your method is clearly superior. It puts everything in one place, and still requires you own the material before you can make a slope for it.
4. Not that I've seen. Your mod is the only one I've come across that does any kind of texture inheriting.
So... I don't think its anything you can fix on your end...but perhaps it is.
On Rei's minimap, carpenter slopes always show up as brown, even if their cover is a different color.
In this case sand.
For the adventure map I'm making I was going to make sand in my desert have slopes and look less blocky.
While making this, I noticed brown lines on the map.
I know this is probably just something Ill have to deal with, and is more of a Rei's minimap issue... but if there is a way you can make the slopes inherit the "color" of the cover somehow in the code, I thought I would mention it.
Also, I noticed animated blocks can't be used as covers. :/ I understand why though. No animation frames. XD
Animations are actually done automatically when applying textures. I've hardcoded a handful of vanilla block render types as valid cover blocks, and the cover block must not have a tile entity. This is to prevent the slope from possibly turning invisible, but can be lifted to allow more blocks to be used as covers.

Ah, I see, Vanilla only? I was trying to use a mods animated block (thaumcrafts element infused blocks)...perhaps that's why it wasn't working. XD
Woah.... Oh man, this mod... I have been waiting forever for a sloped blocks mod that I can use happilly, ever since kaveator stopped updating slopes of the super variety. Plus we can use these for any block? (within reason, obviously) Just.... I'm absolutely amazed. This is fantastic. I can finally resume building my dragon temple, now with any blocks I choose to dream of. How many of the properites of the blocks do they aquire? I remember seeing the "glowstone covers glow", but do redstone block covers give redstone power? (i know nothing about redstone blocks actually, I'm just now updating to 1.5...) Does redstone ore change when you walk on it? Do grass slabs look funny? In modded blocks, I can't think of many interesting properties, but... do thaumcraft warded stone resist being broken? Probably not, I don't need them too particularly but would be cool. I really look forward to seeing what you do next here, even if it is just stairs and slabs in any color I want.

Warded Stones from thaumcraft are not usable as covers. This I can confirm.
Grass blocks are only able to be covered with grass if you find a way to obtain "grass block". They look fine tho, and they have the correct side dirt look. Dirt block slopes do not "grow" grass from what I can tell.

Ah, I just remember that grass slopes always looked really weird back in superslopes, at least during the time when I used it. Jolly good, that working nicely now. A shame about the warded stone though, I was just thinking that the white ones would be perfect teeth for my dragon. I can live with grass not growing onto / off of slopes though, I'll just need to get a mod that lets me craft grass or get a silk touch shovel or something to smooth out my hills.
Grass slopes look good, but can still look better. I might fiddle with it a little. If I remember I'll see how warded stones work as a cover. The render type restriction can likely be removed without any ill effects.
You realize just HOW versatile this mod can be by making a few shapes and covering them with textures.
You already have stairs and slabs planned. But think of microblocks. Quarter slabs, eighths slabs, etc. You could have almost any shape and texture combination. Checking out the latest build now, looks great!
Keep this up and you're going to have to change the name of the mod to something like "Carpenters Shapes" instead of slope.
For the moment I have dropped slabs, because I remembered that they're designed to be stacked two to a block, which will not work favorably with covers.
I'm currently working on walls, and they're about 90% done. Stairs work, but they're constructed in a way that does not work well with grass blocks, or blocks with transparency (including the base frame). So stairs will need a new renderer and cornering code - this will also allow them to retain corner shapes by themselves, so it's a good thing.
As for microblocks, there's another mod called Mine Painter that allows you to chisel out microblock-style chunks of nearly any block. It's a much better implementation than anything out there, though it has a few bugs and the author has been missing a while.

Any luck figuring out that color inheriting issue on map programs?
Any luck figuring out that color inheriting issue on map programs?
Not really. Would need to look at Rei's code itself to figure out what method it uses to determine the block texture. It's not a huge deal to me, though - and its possible it could be something I can't fix on my end. Maybe eventually.

So I take it this is working as expected in Adventure Mode?
Yes, it is now with the newest version you put out. Prevents adventure players from effecting any slopes in any way. Thanks! :]
Also, love the precision settings and the new way the hammer rotates blocks. Great job!

I'll look into the block color stuff. I'm glad no bugs have surfaced so far. Love the look of those pyramids.
Thanks. And Thanks. :]
Yup Not a single bug or crash. Your mod is awesome. I use slopes all over and things just look so much more pretty.
Also, I noticed animated blocks can't be used as covers. :/ I understand why though. No animation frames. XD
Have you installed Forge into your minecraft.jar?
After doing that, run the game once. and the mod folder will appear.
Stairs are coming along... slabs will be next.

While doing the stairs I came across a method that I believe can accomplish this - still in testing though.
Carpenter slopes are really helping my WIP Adventure Maps "Mine" dungeon look pretty awesome.
The "rocks" look like they are more natural, and even as if the cobblestone has rolled out and formed a slant.
