Mod looks nice. A few of us on Lolnet are working on a 1.7 pack and one of them suggested I take a look. We are turning off natural regen of health with the Natural Absorbtion mod, and some healing will come from Hunger Overhaul when you eat a high enough level food. This fills in a nice gap in character healing. I like that it takes prep time and resources.
We'll be giving it a test and if it plays well with the other mods, ask for permission to put it in our pack.
For anyone wondering: YEP! This mod, as well as its companion mod Sweet Tea!, work beautifully in 1.7.10. I've included them in my own 1.7.10 modpack, and they're a great addition. The Minecraft modding community really does need more mods like these. Navybofus, thanks for supplying the Minecraft doctors of the world!

Thanks for this! I was just about to test I think this will work beautifully in my survival/shipwreck modpack idea.
Though... I'm not sure I want to rub garlic in my cuts. That would be... very..... painful... (Once got garlic in a cut while cooking. Don't know if it helped, but it sure stung like nuts)
I made a private modpack for me and my best friend after looking around for some good super hostile multiplayer maps (there aren't many that are balanced for 2-player) that comes with hordes of day mobs, digging zombies to prevent building structures, and disables natural health regeneration (among other things). Because of that, it needed some realistic healing element to be included, which made me turn to MedicCraft for the bandages.
Through my practice plays of the pack while trying to balance it, I've had a couple thoughts as to how the healing idea could be better. These are just a couple feature ideas, minor suggestions really, things I've come up with that would make a medicine mod better that you might think are good ideas too if you want to add them.
Pills - Herbs + Redstone? Lapis?
Grants weak, short status effects to help augment fights a little more. Maybe a Mystery Pill that's cheaper to make but has a random effect from instant health to any effect - good or bad - to instant damage.
> Antidote - Stackable semi-expensive replacement to a single bucket of milk, curing only poison, hunger, and nausea debuffs.
> Vitamin - Short-duration Strength that also cures weakness.
> Metabolizer - Short-duration Speed that also cures slowness.
> Steroid - Short duration Haste that also cures Mining Fatigue.
Gauze Headwrap / Sling / Cast / Boot
Combine any bandage block into normal armor shape to make a bandaged armor set that provides very little defense with low durability but grants continuous recovery and max health according to bandage tier, from +5 hp (2.5 hearts) with 1 hp every 10 seconds to +20 hp (10 hearts) with 1 hp every 2.5 seconds.
Optionally, headwrap causes blindness, sling causes mining fatigue, cast causes weakness, and boot causes slowness (config to enable/disable?)
A couple charges, like the bandage packs, but cures all negative status effect, gives instant health, and boosts max hp. Something that goes with the bandages without replacing them, especially when worn with the silk gauze set.
Just some ideas, that's all. Things I'd like in my medicine mod for the pack but I can't find a mod that already has them, so maybe some ideas you'd like too. Cheers!
I've been on hiatus from Minecraft modding for quite some time now, but you have some great suggestions. I've looked through all of my archives and can't find the source code so I feel like this project is basically abandoned. However I have recommended this tool to people although I've never experimented with it myself. Good luck and I'm glad the mod brought some utility to your game play.
Hey there, I messaged you about a year ago to see if I could add this to a modpack I've been working on.. Not sure if you ever saw it I didn't want to add it to the pack before getting a hold of you since your legal section was quite specific about public distribution.

Is that a response to me? If so, I'm not sure what you're asking ...

Sounds neat!

Still taking any feature suggestions?
