Is there any chance of a 1.5.2 version? Or is it too far past to even think of that? I've been wanting to try it, but I really don't want to update quite yet.

Yeah I'll make a back-port since I still have the environment for it. Check back within the hour.
Works nice so far and i will keep it with custom loottables.
Just a few suggestions:
- Different kinds of chest-spawns. It looked like they allways spawn in some sort of huge tree.
- Some sort of "check" that it doesnt spawn on top of player build structures. No idea if this is possible.
- Iam not sure if the weighting of loot in the config works correctly. At least it stings me as wired if i put something with a wighting of "1" in and get them two times in one chest.
- A customizable chance of mapdrops per map-difficulty woud be a nice addition. If i fight a night through i get like 10 Maps ... this is a bit much.
PS: Maybe ask a mod to move this out of the WIP-section since its released. Might get a bit more attention there.
The chest spawns are different per-biome. You're only getting large trees because you keep getting maps that generate them in taigas, jungles, or forests. Checks for player built structures aren't possible. Weighting does work. It only affects the chance to loot. The fact that one can find two of a low chance item is strictly coincidence. I can make map drops customizable. Moving this out of WIP would not help me, as it would just get buried by the mainstream mods.
If it works on 1.5.2, does it work on 1.5.1 (runtime obfuscation?)

Along with Boots of the Lightwalker as a medium reward, a new tool called Omnipotence will be added as well. It spawns with one of several mod, with the level of the mod changing its name. These make effective hatchets, pickaxes, and spades. They can not be enchanted, but that's because the mods they spawn with make up for that. There is even a positive to breaking one!
This sounds like a really exciting mod! I've been trying to come up with reasons to wander the Overworld - I have several mods generating structures, but I also have Twilight Forest (structures all over with cool new mobs and items in a new dimension) and of course the option to just branch mine for diamonds (boring but reliable).
Being that generated Overworld structures are random, somewhat rare, and of course undiscovered, I sometimes forget they exist. I'm thinking this mod will get me out in the world to find the map locations, and I'll find other cool things along the way!
Some questions though - can treasure maps drop from mobs in other dimensions (the Nether, End or modded dimensions)? If so, do the maps correspond to the dimension it dropped in or a different one (and how would one know which dimension a map is for)?
Anyway, I'll be installing this right away and giving it a try!

Treasure maps can drop from most hostile mobs (including some added by other mods), in any dimension. However, maps will only work in the overworld. There are reasons for this, mainly due to the nether being limited halfway on the y-axis by bedrock and the end being too small.

One minor issue - I installed (1.5.2), loaded up a world, then checked NEI to ensure all items/blocks were accounted for (with no conflicts). I exited game and checked the configs to see what settings were available, and 'default.hard.txt' was entirely empty. I deleted it, hoping it would re-generate with something in it, but on the next game load it returned still empty.
[EDIT] I downloaded the 1.6.2 version and ran that on a different setup, and it generated the default.hard.txt correctly. Just gonna copy/paste that over...
Finally a use for pack mules !!! and horses!! I always wanted a mod that does this. BTW will this have compatibility with biomes o plenty and mo biomes? would be nice but that may be asking too much.

I've got API capability for custom biome mods, but I can't do it myself as it is something on their end. Ask them and see if they will do it.
To follow suit with the map type implementation, I've altered teleport scrolls as well and there is now an interface for teleporting that allows other modders to create their own unique teleport scrolls! Tell your favorite mod authors and see if they'll add some new interesting support! I will always gladly take suggestions for new teleportation types and add them to the mod, crediting the person who came up with the idea, provided they suggest something realistically possible with Minecraft's engine.
I used the 0.0.1.6 for 1.5.2, and it crashed at the start after the Mojang screen. I can't figure out what happened because:

There. It stops by itself. It happened when I had PS + PR. When I only have either of them, it works normally(or not?).
And I can't get a map. Is it because I'm in creative?

The chest spawns are different per-biome. You're only getting large trees because you keep getting maps that generate them in taigas, jungles, or forests. Checks for player built structures aren't possible. Weighting does work. It only affects the chance to loot. The fact that one can find two of a low chance item is strictly coincidence. I can make map drops customizable. Moving this out of WIP would not help me, as it would just get buried by the mainstream mods.

Being that generated Overworld structures are random, somewhat rare, and of course undiscovered, I sometimes forget they exist. I'm thinking this mod will get me out in the world to find the map locations, and I'll find other cool things along the way!
Some questions though - can treasure maps drop from mobs in other dimensions (the Nether, End or modded dimensions)? If so, do the maps correspond to the dimension it dropped in or a different one (and how would one know which dimension a map is for)?
Anyway, I'll be installing this right away and giving it a try!
Treasure maps can drop from most hostile mobs (including some added by other mods), in any dimension. However, maps will only work in the overworld. There are reasons for this, mainly due to the nether being limited halfway on the y-axis by bedrock and the end being too small.

One minor issue - I installed (1.5.2), loaded up a world, then checked NEI to ensure all items/blocks were accounted for (with no conflicts). I exited game and checked the configs to see what settings were available, and 'default.hard.txt' was entirely empty. I deleted it, hoping it would re-generate with something in it, but on the next game load it returned still empty.
[EDIT] I downloaded the 1.6.2 version and ran that on a different setup, and it generated the default.hard.txt correctly. Just gonna copy/paste that over...

I've got API capability for custom biome mods, but I can't do it myself as it is something on their end. Ask them and see if they will do it.
