Microblocks changes the game from a Block world into one where you can have worlds made of lots of shapes. So it kinda does violate the spirit of Minecraft making it more like other games which aren't so 8-bit like. Machines are more of evolution as there is Redstone Circuits, Pistons, etc already in minecraft.
It's still a block world. Microblock slabs are just like vanilla slabs except they can be placed vertically. Panels are just thinner slabs. Posts and pillars? How are they less "in the spirit of minecraft" than stacking fence posts?
It's an issue of perception. To you, apparently, the spirit of minecraft is that everything has to be big and blocky and all the same size. To me, the spirit of Minecraft is that it's an open sandbox like an infinite Lego set, and microblocks are optional brick sets that let me build finer architectural details, like domes and spires and fairly smooth arches. I just have to gather (and, frequently, make) my own bricks. What to you detracts from the game, to me improves it.
inb4 Notch fanboy name calling (Notch actually doesn't like half slabs and felt THAT violated the spirit of Minecraft, much like he felt the same about ladders), just to ask Stucuk if Bibliocraft seems to violate the spirit in the same way as microblocks. After all, Bibliocraft makes exquisite use of models to create its block types...

I seem to be able to make my ducts become clogged.
My setup:
Direwolf20 Pack 1.0.8.
Multifarm (Standard Apple Oak producing automated farm)
Hatch -> Itemduct (Pull Mode. No Servo nor Impulse).
Itemducts -> Squeezer (Receive Mode. Servo whitelisting Apples. Travels through one Vacuum Mode section of itemduct.)
Itemducts -> Fermenter (Receive Mode, Servo whitelisting Apple Oak Saplings. Travels through two Vacuum Mode section of itemduct.)
Itemducts -> ME Interface (Receive Mode, No Whitelist, Behind 2 Dense Itemduct sections)
I find that after a while, my itemducts are no longer delivering apples or saplings. Not to the appropriate Machines, nor the ME interface.
I find that apples appear to be bouncing off of the squeezer, into the itemduct, the itemduct bounces it back towards the machine, repeat ad infinitum.
This occurs even when i remove the duct and replace it.
What would I need to do in order to disable Magical Essence ore generation from Magical crops mod with the custom generation? I've already tried adding something but it doesn't seem to work. I'd appreciate any help in getting this to work :).

The point of requiring servos was to increase the costs in the first place.

You can put a torch under\put a lever next to any duct you don't need to access the filtering capabilities of, if you just want it to extract from an inventory.
to be honest i don't mind the servos as upgrades for filtering but i always found the red stone torch or lever thing to be 100% retarded in that it made it take up way too much space.
i like the servos for filtering however for simple red stone control of extracting i believe it would be a huge space saver if you could simply have the pipes accept red stone torches directly as a low level upgrade to enable red stone control so that you can have two tiers of upgrade the torch for red stone control and the servo for both control and filtering. this takes care of the space issue nicely as the torches will be stored inside the pipe
Yeah... I got this error when I installed MiscPeripherals on Minecraft with Thermal Expansion already on it, from looking at it I think I see that MP isn't updated to the proper TE3 API, which makes sense since RichardG, (MP Author) is on a hiatus for now. I just want to see what anyone else says about it. I posted this on the MP forum too. I also noticed that MP isn't on the newest FTB mudpack, despite the fact that it is properly updated to this version of Minecraft. Oh well, any advice would help a lot!

Every time a mod author makes a new "TOOL" God Kills a Kitten. Think of the Kittens, ADD Omniwrench Support To Your Mods !!!
So the microblocks debate. I can see both sides, but face it, that Minecraft purity of the block has gone out the window a long time ago. I'm talking vanilla here. Fences and glasspanes are here to stay buddy.
Now as for the one being forced on us, I'm not thrilled, and it's nothing against CB. I wasn't aware people didn't like CB. , NEI's kinda essential. Here's my thing, I'm already using Immibis' version. I'm not big on microblocks myself either, don't really have anything against them, just not big on using them. Immibis required for redlogic. CB's is required for WRCBE. While I like both, redlogic a little more indispensible (even if I use MFR rednet more). Immibis blocks also don't clutter NEI with 11 extra pages and the saw recipe is simpler (yes, little things like that irk me, it's yet another tool that only has 1 purpose, it doesn't need to have it's own pointless subcomponent that is only used for it's own recipe...I hate subcomps that have only 1 or a few uses..KISSFFS!!!) Yes, I'm ranting again, and I'm not even drunk yet. Also all things being equal if there are 2 mods that do the same thing and 1 is opensource and the other isn't, I'm going to go with the opensource (Immibis' mods are all opensource).
Now being as I've been forced to have both installed, I can't say I've run into a problem yet, and it's nice to have WRCBE again (I have yet to use it lately, but it's nice to know it's there when I need it), but then I haven't made any covers or anything yet either.
Anyway, I think KL has discussed it all he cares to, so it isn't like it's going anywhere, but I felt like getting on my soapbox for some strange reason.
with the recent changes to ducts and the new requirements of servos for upgrading i would like to request that the recipe for the servos is changed to output 6 units similar to the recipe for the ducts. we are going to need a crap ton of them and the recipe needs to give more than just one especially at a cost of 2 iron
Not a bad idea, but I somehow doubt KL will go for it. He did add the option to use other metals, but they default to false so you need to turn on the ones you want. I've got them all turned on, so whatever I have too much of I can use for servos. It mitigates the pain.
While I agree there should be some cost involved in building a sorting system, it seems most peoples idea of a "balanced" sorting system is one that by the time you have the resources and infrastructure to build it you really don't need it anymore (BC diamond pipes and gates for instance). Logistics Pipes at least was worth the trouble since it was so powerful that once I had my system built and tweaked my whole MC reason for existence was meaningless because everything ran fine without me and Skynet decided to terminate me
I was rather enjoying the TC ducts during beta without the servo, since it was nice and easy, but the servos aren't so bad now that I don't have to make them out of iron (which there never seems to be enough of). Netherores takes away a lot of the pain too.

It was done purposefully a beta revision or so from the last. It was in the changelog. I don't really understand the purpose of it either, but I haven't run into a problem with it yet (I tend to keep my pipes for different fluids physically seperated anyway) but I'm sure it's just a matter of time til i wreck something.

Am I complaining again? Have I said how thankful I am for the new TE3? Well a big thanks to KL and the CoFH team for bringing TE back better than ever, with new things to about! It was worth the long wait.
I seem to be able to make my ducts become clogged.
My setup:
Direwolf20 Pack 1.0.8.
Multifarm (Standard Apple Oak producing automated farm)
Hatch -> Itemduct (Pull Mode. No Servo nor Impulse).
Itemducts -> Squeezer (Receive Mode. Servo whitelisting Apples. Travels through one Vacuum Mode section of itemduct.)
Itemducts -> Fermenter (Receive Mode, Servo whitelisting Apple Oak Saplings. Travels through two Vacuum Mode section of itemduct.)

Any idea what's going on, and how to fix it?
The same sort of thing happens to me, I mentioned it a few pages back and got no input from others. I've also moved itemducts and seen stuck items bouncing around OUTSIDE of itemducts that aren't even there anymore.
I've watched cobble/dirt/gravel bouncing around between a chest and an ic2 recycler, copper and tin ore bouncing back and forth between a chest and a pulverizer, and items between a chest and a redstone furnace. All in an unchanged setup that was working mere minutes earlier. Seems to be when a chunk gets unloaded that things mess up.
I even witnessed items dumped into a chest via a BC quarry, traversing itemduct routes that no longer existed and making it to their destination...or pulling itemducts from a chest and STILL seeing cobble disappearing from it like it was being pulled by an itemduct that doesn't exist.
also am i the only one who notices that pipes are now automatically linking to each other regardless of what liquid they are transporting this is a massive 100 steps backwards and horribly broken. all my setups are essentially impossible to build now until i can find a fix to this auto pipe linking. this was the ONE thing that made compact plumbing possible and now it is gone what the hell people?
You need to use microblock covers to keep them separated.

I'm having the same problem with pulling items from a Forestry multifarm. It worked fine for a day or so, then items would disappear from the output slots of the multifarm GUI, but never appear in the duct or receiving chest.
Then, when I removed the itemduct, it kept happening. All the multifarm products were just blackholing. I ended up tearing down the farm to try it in a different location.
inb4 Notch fanboy name calling (Notch actually doesn't like half slabs and felt THAT violated the spirit of Minecraft, much like he felt the same about ladders), just to ask Stucuk if Bibliocraft seems to violate the spirit in the same way as microblocks. After all, Bibliocraft makes exquisite use of models to create its block types...
You may note i said kinda. Microblocks is on the fence. This thread isn't the place to have a full blown discussion about which mods i or anyone else think aren't in keeping with the spirit of minecraft.

If i 'unlink' the itemduct from the squeezer shown in the video, the apples continue to bounce back and forth through the non-existant interface.
I've managed to make this fix itself ONCE before, though i have no idea HOW. Just that suddenly 2000 apples or so suddenly showed up in my ME Interface and had stuffed the squeezer full.

It does indeed seem like TE3 is thinking the items are still in the 'pipe' (Block? Location?) wherever they were previously. It's pretty much the only thing i can think of it being - that TE3 believes all the items from my farm are currently in that blockspace where my duct meets the squeezer. The system registers that there's free space in the squeezer (because there's no items in it - the apples never make it to the squeezer block, so it reports that it's inventory is empty), and so the ducts continue to try and send apples towards it...

You can put a torch under\put a lever next to any duct you don't need to access the filtering capabilities of, if you just want it to extract from an inventory.
i like the servos for filtering however for simple red stone control of extracting i believe it would be a huge space saver if you could simply have the pipes accept red stone torches directly as a low level upgrade to enable red stone control so that you can have two tiers of upgrade the torch for red stone control and the servo for both control and filtering. this takes care of the space issue nicely as the torches will be stored inside the pipe

I'm trying to figure out what is causing (In Spoiler Below) this problem.
If you know where I should post this please reply. It will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
