OK, the truth is, Factorization has always had three killer features: its storage barrels, the item router, and the wrathlamp. There's very little reason to use anything else from it (although the solar steam turbine is a very cool and shiny piece of tech). Recently it has massively nerfed and broken the barrels, and is now replacing the item router, with which pretty much anyone could with a little work build a fast, simple, efficient, low-maintenance storage system, with the servos, with which any programmer should eventually be able to build a slow, complicated, high-maintenance storage system; and it's replaced the system of using wrathfire to make dark iron (which all the Factorization machines require) from iron at a 9:4 ratio with world-spawned dark iron ore, which spawns down among the bedrock at a rarity reportedly comparable to IC2 iridium. (People have reported running four-chunk quarries all the way down to bedrock without getting a single dark iron ore.) As for the wrathlamps, honestly, Greg's Lighting floodlights are better and have fewer issues.
So between you and me, I think Factorization has jumped the shark. Barrels Mod already has better barrels. If some modder comes up with an at-least-as-good item router replacement, the Minecraft world will beat a path to his door.
Factorization did it first, it also does more than what people think (look at the config); it's barrels are actually fantastic (even more so now). The servo's are really cool at what they do, very cool, although they do take some time to figure out. The wrath-lamps are also fair for what they do, and I have never had an issue with them.
Not trying to hate any other mod, but NeptunePink has done really cool things with factorization.
What's better about the factorization barrels than before? And why should I use them over say the Deep Storage Unit?
There are new types of barrels (silky, sticky, and hopping ... more?), and they beautifully adopt the texture of the logs used to craft them. Dynamic textures for the win! Oh, and they can be wrenched into various orientations.
What I'm saying is maybe they'll add it? It's something that might not have crossed their minds, or they have a better system coming up.
And what's this about a BATTLEwrench? Are we taking from Dark Cloud 2 now?
It's a wrench! It's a Muckin' Great Clubbe! It's a Muckin' Great Clubbe that can also be used as a wrench! But wait, there's more! Call now, and you also get the Flux Capacitor!
Not trying to hate any other mod, but NeptunePink has done really cool things with factorization.
True, true. Can't argue, Factorization has done some really cool things. I just think that right now it's moving away from its most popular and widely-used features ... but perhaps that means only that neptunepink's vision and mine are different. I'm sure servos are going to be very interesting, for the people willing to invest the time in learning something that looks as though it's going to be very complex, but from what I've seen so far it looks like more work than I really want to put into a game that I play to relax.
I actually have a whole litany of things I dislike about the new barrels, but this is the Thermal Expansion forum and I don't want to wander any further off-topic. (Besides which I'm seriously steamed about stuff at work right now, and don't want it to bleed through.)

I approve of this post =), thanks for allowing people with slightly different views have a civil "small interaction" on the internet.
But yes, TE3! Cannot wait till the full release! I shall be the "blizz-crusher".
The basic mechanic of itemducts is not complicated. Just connect inventories with the wrench and set one end red (the sucking end, emptying the inventory) and other end blue (the receiving).
When you right click the end with bare hand, you can see the filter options.
I just need to figure the red/green/orange color, when you right-click (?) the itemduct with wrench not at the end.
And no, I DO NOT want to use another highly complicated mod like AE
lol but I tried to connect item ducts to none TE machines the dont spew out... I think I did try connecting a liquid transposer to a water mill from IC2 and I dont think it works that way since the water bucket wasnt being sent to the water mill... orz, and AE is very easy to understand really you just need is a drive box/chest and a controller for storage, crafting... well thats the tricky bit especially when working with fluids, also I noticed that when you right click on the itemduct connecting to he inventory you get an item filter... how does that work? filter out items from the inventory or filter out items going into the inventory?... might have to experiment with that
IC2's water mill doesn't accept anything, neither fluids or buckets. I think it's by design too. Also, that design choice drives me nuts and ensures I never use it.

1.7 will only have mods when Forge releases a 1.7 version, and they can't release a 1.7 version until the Minecraft Coder Pack releases a 1.7 version. Because of all the changes made in 1.7 its taking time for MCP to update to 1.7 .
So most mods will be for 1.6.4 but you won't see any for 1.7 for a while (probably early 2014).

KingLemmingCoFH, whether there will be an opportunity to load energy cell from buildcraft and forestry engines on pipes? Or you want to make mod same independent as BTW (Better Than Wolves)?

You seem to be slightly confused as to how this mod works. It is in no way shape or form comparable to BTW. BTW is a whole game conversion that "strives" for incompatibility. TE just chose to not use BC's power implementation and instead develop their own. You may as well ask the team that codes IC2 why their mod isn't compatible with BC also if that's how you see it.
It should be possible with EnderIO mod, latest version. Its Energy Conduit should be able to receive MJs from engines and supply RF to TE devices/machines in a correct ratio (1:10 I think).
There is no wish to put many excess mods, all that needs to be eaten in TE. It was necessary to make only compatibility with other mods and it will be much better.
I haven't ever had to touch LP for anything. I'm a pretty big AE fan obviously and Extra Utilities, Ender Storage, and a few other things filled the gap of reducing the complexity and energy usage of the ME storage system for automating tasks. I use AE to get the stuff to the machines for processing, and for storage. Extra Utils takes care of getting the processed items out, and back to the ME system via dumping them into an Ender Chest.
Forestry and Railcraft will likely if they have not already adopted RF energy.

Actually it'll be a while before I get to installing 1.6 mods because I just got my Planetary Annihilation beta invite.

Did you try setting the arrow on each end pointing away from the attached block? I can't test at the moment, but something like this:
Chest -->---Itemduct----<-- Chest
Put items in each chest and see if they flow in both directions. I suspect, however, that with no output direction set, items won't go anywhere.
Happy birthday if this isn't already posted.
