Because why not? And rotten flesh is useless.... its used a little bit in some mods, but not nearly enough... i converted 12 stacks of rotten flesh into 12 stacks of leather, and made a library.... still need about 500 more bookcases tho...
I have a slight issue that I'm hoping someone can help me with. Please?
When I smelt my Rotten Flesh, I get Bonemeal. I'm unable to find a .cfg for the mod, so I can't change IDs in that file. Can someone direct me to the file(s) that I can edit to get the leather to be the end product?

Thank you!!
Are you using a mod or modpack that changed your item IDs? If not, I'll check into it. It should only be giving leather for smelting.

I'm getting the same. Bonemeal is (I believe) item ID 360 and since it's stock Minecraft, I can't imagine what the conflict is. I've got 67 mods running at the moment (I'm a LAN worldmaker) so I don't want to take up a ton of space listing them all. A .cfg file would be fantastic, though, if you can manage that!
I recompiled, reobfuscated and reuploaded the mod for version 1.5.2. If you were having troubles with the mod not working as expected, please try the newest link and if that does not work, try updating forge to the most recent release (as they update it regularly).
Provided that you know how to use forge with your server for multiplayer, I would assume the mod should work for the multiplayer server as well. However, I have not tried it, so I do not know for sure.
along with that the other modder made it so you had to use bonemeal and sugar to "purify" the rotten flesh making another item which was clashing with my other mods
Ripoff of what exactly? Every other mod I found that does this is always outdated. This one is the quickest to update I have seen and works just as it should, so there should be no reason to complain.
Definitely like this a lot more than just the typical 'smelt flesh to get leather' mod.
Definitely not OP or UP.
I also love how you chose to use bone meal to 'cleanse' it as 1, bone meal is less useful once a solid farm setup is in place and 2, it's logical....or at least minecraft-logical haha.
Maybe a harder version would be:
1 rotten flesh and 1 bone meal = 1 cleansed flesh;
1 cleansed flesh = 2 cleansed flesh strips;
3x3 full of flesh strips = flesh chunk;
**in 3x3 grid place 3 strips along top, 2 in the bottom 2 corners and 1 chunk in the middle = cleansed flesh;
and then smelt cleansed flesh = leather.
This would mean that would need 7 rotten flesh, 7 bone meal, and 1 coal/smelting resource to make 1 leather!
**This crafting arrangement is suppose to look like the outline of a leather
I hope everybody is enjoying the Rotten Flesh to Leather Mod. I do have plans to update to 1.7.2 as soon as I can. Please bear in mind, I will have to wait until the forge team puts out an api for 1.7.2. We'll get there soon. Patience is a virtue.

Changes:
Update to 1.6.2
Pure Flesh now is a food(no poison), recovery 2 and half of food stats.
Builded in Forge 9.10.0.800, but I think this works in old versions of Forge.
