Wall Jump lets you bounce right off of walls like in so many video games! Jump up to any wall, hit jump again, and rebound back off! Each time you'll turn 180 degrees, so you can wall jump on a parallel wall! Planet Minecraft Page
Changelog:
Version 1.2 for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.6.2 is now out! In this version I have worked more on the menu, with options such as blocks which can be jumped off of and stuff. The wall jumping mechanic and bar remain pretty much exactly the same. I have also included a mcmod.info file, for anyone using Magic Launcher or similar launchers, and just so it looks nice in Forge's mods menu.
Version 1.2.1 for Minecraft 1.7.10/1.7.2 is now out! Added in this version are some stability fixes and a new option - "Circle Mode". This mode makes the character wall jump the same direction every time, and prevents unwanted movement of the player (i.e. it lets you wall jump more easily). The exceptions list has also been made easier to input to, and uses the new block and item names rather than numerical IDs (i.e. "minecraft:stone" or "modid:name"). It should support all mods that add new blocks, but I cannot confirm this.

The format of the exceptions list is now as follows:
[name/modid:name/name!metadata/modid:name!metadata];...
Version 1.2.2 for Minecraft 1.8 is now out! This version is mostly being released for a 1.8 release, however, it also includes some other changes. Firstly, there have been many optimisations in the code, so the mod should be faster now if you were experiencing lag before. Secondly, the settings GUI has been changed somewhat, now with a bigger text box and it now displays the blocks you cannot jump from correctly (Note you can also mouse over them to see their names). The format of the exception list has changed again, it is now the following in order to be simpler to understand:
[name/modid:name(:metadata)],...
In addition, the mod now has a full language file, so you can translate all pieces of text in the mod.
Version 1.2.3 for Minecraft 1.8 is now out! 1.2.3 fixes bugs with wall jumping and the mod not recognising when the player had a block in front of them, making jumping itself very much hit and miss. This has been fixed, and also optimised somewhat. A few other optimisations have also been made.
Step 1: Download the mod and Minecraft Forge from the links above.
Step 2: Install Forge directly to the jar.
Step 3: Open appdata\roaming\.minecraft (Ctrl+R, %appdata% to open appdata)
Step 4: Copy and Paste the mod zip file into the mods folder in .minecraft.
Step 5: Run Minecraft with Wall Jump installed!

Hey, this mod doesn't work with my Minecraft installation. Can you make it compatible with X? In short, no. It's very unlikely that I'm going to go to the trouble of rewriting my code in order to make it compatible with your installation alone. if I ever do change the platform this mod is written in, it'll be on the whole to require no APIs whatsoever. As of yet, however, I haven't worked this out, so you're stuck with Forge.
Hey! This mod doesn't work with [insert widely-used and specific mod here], can you make it compatible with that mod? This, however, is a different situation. If the mod in question is a mod many of the people who download this mod are likely to download, I will try my best to adapt the mod to be compatible. However, this is unlikely if it means changing the API this mod uses (unless it's to none at all).
Will you just update to X.X.X already? Be patient. I have plenty of exams and stuff in real life to be dealing with that are probably a little more important than updating a mod. However, if and when I have free time to do so and I don't feel like procrastinating, I will likely try to update all of my mods.
Here's a screenshot of how the menu now looks:
Thanks for reading this, and please report any bugs to me so I can fix them!
You sir.....have made a mod that I personally like! I always wanted to act like Mario in Minecraft! Lol. to you! You made a very good start for a mod Btw, if you can, maybe you can make an animation for wall jumping, too!
Thank you for all the support everyone! Already this mod has about 60 downloads or so, so I can tell people like the idea.
It's quite hard to make animations, so that might not be possible until maybe the modding API comes out.
Can you maybe add an item which stops you from getting so much fall damage? Or is that just a glitch
It's a glitch; at the moment I'm not too sure what's causing it, but if I do I'll update the download link as quickly as possible.
Thanks again for your support!
The game gagues how much fall damage you take by how far you fall, and it doesn't seem to recognize the wall jumps as stopping your decsent; thus all of the various distances you fell after getting off the ground are added up. This probobally doesn't help much, just explaining it for all the confused people.
I'm using this on my private server with smart moving and I can't wall jump, Any way you can get it to work with smart moving ?
I don't see any reason why the mod shouldn't work with Smart Moving, are you sure you are falling down the wall when you try to wall jump? If the mod doesn't work at all with Smart Moving, it may be because of Smart Moving's wall climbing capabilities. These probably prevent any other wall activity, would be my guess.
Also, server lag can be quite a big factor into wall jumping not working quite right, which may be the problem here.

I don't think lag was the problem, also It was wall jumping me off of stuff when I was swimming or flying but otherwise it wouldn't work
The download link doesn't seem to be broken for me or anyone else. The link should send you to an ad page, just hit "Skip Ad" when it comes up and download from MediaFire.

Thanks, dude! I'll add your video to the first post. Thanks for the support!
Thanks! Added to first post, hope to see some nice parkour maps using this like you said in the video.

In that case, it's probably part of the Smart Moving mod and on their end.
I was tempted to make one of my own, since it fits in so well with Mario. Hopefully someone will be better at making maps than me and actually do it!
