Added a rather important poll, please take a look, if you have any other considerations please say so! No promises, please keep in mind.
Also, anyone have any good names for the "Nether Bow"? Looking for something original, first name I like gets a little something!
I installed your mod yesterday, it's the first mod I've ever added to minecraft.
After a bit of tampering I got it working in SSP, which of course was a crucial first step.
The problem is, I really have no idea how to get it working in SMP.
I tried to just start the server, but to no avail. My creative character had the block in his inventory, but couldn't actually place them on the server. (This and other signs made me understand that the server is not really running the mod).
So my question is: How do I add the mod to my server? I googled it and found one way is to delete the minecraft_server.exe and replace it with a .jar-file instead, but since this mod is placed in the "Mods" directory and not extracted directly into the jar, I couldn't figure it out.
Is there some obvious step I am missing? I'd be extremely thankful if someone could at least point me in the right direction.
This video should explain everything : D
Download the server jar from minecraft.net and follow his instructions! Happy Mining!
Some suggestions: Fury Bow, Wrath Bow, ect.
I personally think that the name should sound like the other tools/armor, as if it has it's own 'mind' or 'thoughts', just a suggestion though.
Also very extensive mod! Looking forward to playing it! (I'm waiting for 1.5, because I don't want to loss my world to add ores that i won't find plus I need to have less IDs for this mod with my 84+ mods already!)
Keep up the good work
Glad you are looking forward to the mod! As we get closer and closer to 1.5, adding meta-data items + config seems to be more and more necessary. Also, better stock up on XP and fire resistance potions, we are adding a few cool new items in the next update! (Don't worry, they will be cool and original, I think you guys will like them )
@cup of water
Thanks a lot! I'll try it as soon as I get to my main computer.
Since We've already found all the minerals that can be found in a mere two days, without even trying, I'm really looking forward to adding this to my server.
Is there something added in 1.5 that makes you not lose the world when you add new features?
Just as a tip, I found this video that makes you able to add this mod without losing your entire world:
Yes, use mcedit to prune your chunks.
Also, apparently today I don't have to goto school, because someone threated to bomb the school today... >.>
So Ill be on the forum and doing some code!
Something that's been bugging me, I read somewhere that when an update comes around, all installed mods will most likely be rendered useless.
Also, I remember reading that there could be complications on your server depending on what type of mod you used. For example, if I were to put something in a chest (say, tophinite) and the server was to update - what would happen?
Would the tophinite disappear and reappear when I've installed updated the mod to the current version of minecraft?
Would the tophinite disappear and be gone "forever", so that I would have to collect it anew after I've updated the mod?
Is there a chance that the tophinite will be replaced with something "invalid" (for example a skeleton) which would make the server crash?
If I update the server and the game crashes (like in the last example), can I always just go into my backup of the server, manually delete the mod, manually update minecraft again, and then just keep on playing without the mod until an updated mod version is released? Or is there a risk that my server will be lost forever?
Sorry for all those questions, but I want to warn my other players of what _could_ happen to the server in a worst-case-scenario.
Okay, listen closely!
I have been hard at work today making a config and a few other things!(Along with a few new craftable items, which are panning out fairly well)
There is no need to worry, just when you update the server make sure to install the mod before opening up the world and you will be a-okay. The Id's are not changing unless you edit something in the config.
If you have any more questions, please just ask!
Oh boy, just found another bug >.> When trillint tools are used alot, their durability bugs out (probably because I need to use a value less than 64000, bugs out around there(Or maybe a long integer will do the trick?))
Anyway, please make sure guys to report any glitches you find. Being a large mod I just don't have time to test every possible outcome!
Everything has been completed today! *Phew* I fixed the trillint, made Magrolith have a lower chance of dropping dark essence. and added 3 new special items! (They're a secret ) All I have to do now is update it to 1.5!
Also, Great opportunity here everyone! I am looking for an active member of the forums to help me manage this thread and join my modding team! From time to time I will be gone for extended periods of time and won't be able help people here out, so I will need someone else to do so!
Finally, I am hoping from someone to make some signatures/banners for those who support the Rareores mod! Better Ores for Better people!
I am adding a new weapon next update!
Unfortunately, trolljang decided to change the way textures are done, this being I haven't quite figured out how Im going to make the bows animate properly, expect an update for 1.5 Late Thursday at latest!
hows the update going? btw i love this mod awsome job
Bows are done, the tree has been updated (It was a big, surprising obstacle), the blocks have been textured, code for new content has been added. Bug fixes and tweaks have been included too. Expect a mildly large update :).
What still needs to be done
*add crafting for new content
*Apply textures to rest of the items
*Add renderers for Pherithium Arrow
*refine a few small things
It will be out tonight or tomorrow. As for my other mods, the updates will be out tomorrow night! (No guarantees, however)
