Okay, so I admit I didn't do an extensive search, page by page and line by line, but is there a setting in the config to have the catacombs spawn, but make them less common? We started a new server with this and there were three catacombs within about 20 chunks from the spawn and the wither spawner ended up being right below our town we were building so the nether portal bounced us back to that spot rather than the portal we built... none of this would have been bad if the portal wasn't so close to us and there wasn't so many catacombs everywhere - we have them all over our landscape at most 40 chunks apart... we'd like to have them a lot less common so they are even that much more special!
So, again:
-- Is there a way to set catacomb spacing?
-- If so, how? (feel free to just link a post - no need to write it all again)
Oh, also, is there a list of biomes catacombs will NOT spawn in? That would be nice to know as well...
Thanks - this mod rocks none the less - it's like mini-adventures when we get a team together and dive into their depths!

There isn't a setting to reduce catacombs generation chance. But you can disable its generation and generate in using console command.
At first set "GenerateCatacombs" to "false" in configuration file.
For its manual generation type next command in console
Where <structure_name> is "catacombs"
Use this command carefully, cause it can corrupt your world(if you'll use it in high places, like on this screenshot, and in some another conditions).
Right, good. I wasn't blind to the obvious. Would you consider adding it as part of a future update? Or maybe setting a "max" level, using 75 as a absolute maximum like you have it set now?
Also, is there a list of biomes they will not spawn in? Or is it better to list only where they do spawn? And will it cross into biomes where they would not normally spawn if it were to extend into it?

Sorry, I don't fully understand you. What feature you would like to see?
As for maximum - is such config really required? This limitation used only for "normally" generated catacombs, to prevent some rare issues.(It haven't got any effects when you generate it by console command)

You can see allowed biomes in sectiption section(for vanilla biomes) and in compatibility section(for additional biomes from another mods) of main post.(It haven't got any effects when you generate it by console command)

Two things, config related (neither "important"; just ideas)
-- Allow a setting to set your own max, if you wanted it to be even less than 75 (for whatever reason; I can't think of any but whatever)
-- Allow a "minimum distance" between catacomb entrances, like no closer than 40 chunks or something
The second one was more because of the portal being so close to our town that it became our return point, rather than in the town... bit of a shock to come back after the nether and then have to suddenly fight a wither! That'll wake you up...
And thanks - I will check out the section you mention for the list. Much appreciated.

Checking out the list made me think of another possible config. Biome o' Plenty allow you to select the biomes to generate and if there is a chance for a village to spawn. Maybe you could add something like that - select which biomes can spawn them?
And maybe - and this is just me being crazy - have something that makes them more likely to spawn near a village? It would probably be a village who set it up initially anyway, right? Just another idea here... feel free to ignore this one tho as it may be to crazy to code for...
add "altar of sacrifice"( can't say exactly what it will give, but in any case it will require peacefull creatures deaths for work).
add vampires.
maybe add vampire's castle(and some new stuff for it, like coffins).
maybe add "bone sword" and "bone armor".
maybe add new small dimension with new boss, and a lot of stuff, some plants, maybe mobs...
I was looking at what you had for the planned features and here are my thoughts. I know that your mod is a creepy mod and dose come off like a holloween mod but I don't think adding to much holloween theme items is a good idea. Unless you where going to change the name of the mod completly. So the adding vampire's, haunted house and ghost would not be good for the mod in my view. That aside I do like adding fog, ravens (but I think only at cemeteries), boneweapens and arror (might be okay as long it not to crazy) and textures for memorials.
My idea what you could add other smaller tombs (somewhat rare but not as much as cemeteries), Other undead pets (aside from the dog and cat that are not in minecraft) and craftable headstones, small plots stones and the small crosses. I also thought along the lines of headstones you could add Jewish headstones, celtic cross headstones and add with all the grave markers a year when they die like 1692-1701 would add to the feeling of the cemeterie.
This is a really cool mod. The dungeon is huge and it is all really well done, and it seems fairly balanced, because to get to the awesome blocks of diamond reward you need to defeat a serious amount of monsters, and the wither. I had a cool idea, it would be awesome if you could add horse gravestones, as horses are pets too. Anyway, nice work! Have a diamond:

Sorry, but such configurating will make code too complicate.
As for villages - there are already cemetery in villages. Also it will required some changes in minecraft code...

Awww... you wouldn't change the entirety of the code just because I asked? I am disappointed! (sarcasm mode off)
I understand fully - maybe something to think about for v2.0? Not to plan ahead or anything...

If you have any ideas or advices - I'm open to it. Also, if you think that some biomes are not "suitable place" for catacombs - say it. Removing some of them is one of my plans, so It can be helpful. Also I didn't tested all biomes, especially biomes from Biomes O Plenty mod.

Oh, yes, I understand that current name isn't suitable for planning features, but it looks like it is too late for changes...
As for this features - i'd like to add more challenges in game, more places for exploring... So this is why, i'd like to add something like this. But at the same time I trying to make my mod configurable as much as I can, so most part of its features can be disabled in configuration file.

Hm, which undead pets would you like to see?
As for craftable gravestones - it is one of panned features. I want to implement it with updated textures and some new memorials and graves. I thought about such "advanced" gravestones models from mod beginning, but "Techne"(this is a minecraft modeling program) doesn't allow it(currently I use another way for it). As for years - there was almost same feature some time ago. I show amount of days. But it was a little buggy so i decided to temporary disable it( and still not fix it)
How can we configure how often a NPC grave spawn?
Some of my player get some diamond tools from those graves and I don't like it, at least not too often.

Spanish review with this texture patch.

Here is update.

Edit: I think it must be Adfly.
Oh, yes, It doesn't work. You can download it from "curse forge" http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/gravestone_mod/files/
