OMG awesome mod! I've been looking for this forEVER! I even made a request for it and NOW HERE IT IS!!! :D!! WOOOH!!! Also, do you plan on making RANDOMLY generated planets outside of the Minecraftia System? I'd also suggest making bigger spaceships that can hold up to two or maybe even five players! Maybe in the far future bigger ships that you can walk into and sit down on for lift-off(Would disable getting up before you lift-off otherwise you'd hurt youself/fall out xD). And lastly, I'd like to know how awesome you are. Yes, I asked it. On a scale of 1-10, what are you? Don't give me 1 or I will come and find you then kill you.

Galacticraft is a mod that lets you travel to new planets with your own spaceship.
[represent]

Features:
Travel throughout the solar system!
Create and customize your very own spaceship (customization coming soon)!
Explore new planets and moons!
SMP Support - Explore with your friends!
Multiple language support!
New mobs!
Lots of new items and blocks!
Dungeons (coming soon)!
API to allow modders to add more content, including whole new solar systems and galaxies!

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS... AND SO IS THIS PAGE!
Expect things to be removed, added, modified, or completely redone before the final release.
NASA Workbench

The NASA Workbench is used to craft all spaceships (currently only one type), and other space vehicles such as Moon Buggys. Upon right-clicking the NASA workbench you will see the following interface:

All parts required for the vehicles can be found below.
Launch Pad

The launch pad is required for the launch of any spacecraft. To allow a spaceship to be placed, there must be a 3 x 3 launch pad, as shown in the image below:

Portable Oxygen System
Oxygen Tanks are a player's source of oxygen when exploring a planet. After pressing the Galacticraft Player inventory key (default "R"), a GUI appears with new slots for oxygen gear. The tanks are placed like so:
Also note that there are currently no ways of refilling oxygen tanks... This is not final and will be changed.
Here is a fully functioning Portable Oxygen System:

Rocket Fuel
Rocket Fuel is required for the launch of all spacecraft.
Note this is most likely a temporary recipe.
You can access the Rocket Fuel GUI by pressing the "Open Spacecraft Inventory" button while sitting in the spacecraft, default F key.
Oxygen Distribution
Just like the Oxygen Tank system, there is also more permenant ways of breathing on other planets. This is the recommended system of staying alive for homes and bases throughout the Galaxy.
The Oxygen Collector is used to collect oxygen from nearby leaves (from trees). Once a Collector has been placed in the vacinity of enough leaves, it will blow fresh oxygen through adjacent Oxygen Pipes.
Oxygen pipes are used to connect various Oxygen Distribution and Manipulation devices.
The Oxygen Distributor, once connected to an Oxygen Pipe with sufficient oxygen flowing through it, will distribute the oxygen into a sphere of breathable oxygen blocks.

Sensor Goggles

While wearing Sensor Goggles, the following interface will appear. Any mobs (not including other players) will appear a bright blue, which helps with sight of mobs on dark planets.

Sensor Goggles allow you to find ore blocks in a nearby radius, without being too overpowered.
With Advanced Mode off, as shown below, the interface will display where ore blocks ore located relative to player head rotation. Only ore within 3 blocks of the player will be displayed.

With Advanced Mode on, as shown below, the indicator also checks distance from player on the y-axis aswell. This is more useful, but will take a bit more getting used to.

Parachutes
Parachutes are used to make safe landings on Planets and Moons. Coloring your parachute is purely aesthetic.

Flags
Claim your territory with a flag with your face on it! Flags are dyeable with all vanilla minecraft dyes.

Any news or updates about this mod? I love it and cant wait for a final release!
I updated Minecraft to 1.5, then I reinstalled everything that's needed for this mod. Opened Minecraft, no crashes. Then after I copy the Galacticraft.jar to the mods folder (like I did for the Basic Components.jar) it crashes when I open it. Click the spoiler if you can help..

Is Galacticraft compatible with 1.5? If no, then why does it say "How to install | Minecraft 1.5" here?
I'm having trouble installing galacticraft on minecraft 5.1. I installed it before but I updated minecraft, so I reinstalled galacticraft and now minecraft 5.1 wont load it will go to mojang then it will go black. Please reply It will go to my email. Thanks.
i just have a small problemo... when i try to open my new inventory screen by pressing r. it doesnt open. no matter how many times i press r it doesnt open!
Guys!!!!! What do you expect from this mod right now listen!! Its a WIP your gonna expect lag and other things because it is brand new your not gonna expect a mod to have 900 diamond block worth when its been out for 1 month. Micdoodle is working hard to get the mod going so stop complaining that the yogscast has the mars and you dont!!!! So all you idiots shut up complainingMicdoodle i have a suggestion. Add the ISS to the menu for the next or next next update
It can, just rotate it to always face the window upside when turning down XD
Really? And you tried it? Maybe you post a screen with rocket targeted to earth then? I tried many times and think that this thing dont decrease y coordinate nor has a collision. So its impossible to turn it to the earth and crash
