So basically all that it happens is when I put myself into creative in my test worlds with NEI up, you obviously have all the tabs from the different mods to choose from (Twilight Forest, Harken Scythe, Ars Magica, etc etc) and the IC2 tab is there. As soon as I click on it, game freezes, crashes and gives me an error in regards to rendering. No idea if its just IC2 still working out kinks with their pre-release builds for 1.5.1 or if its just NEI borking it up.
If it's not Galacticraft's tab, then I don't think it's causing the crashes. It probably is IC2 kinks with the big 1.5 update, since there's so much change it's hard to fix everything the first few times haha. NEI might have a few issues with the big rewrite, so I'm not sure there. For now, I would use Creative+ with NEI, which gives you the same functionality, but using the NEI overlay as opposed to the creative tabs.
I wonder if this mod will get into the Voltz modpack o.o or if FTB has a universal electricity modpack.. Since this would be perfect for space colonization on pvp servers.. especially since the concept of "Oxygen production" Space pvp combat.. Hmmm....
I've been playing ith this on my ssp and i do like the concepts and i liked seeing the martians.. but i wish you could Trade with space villagers..
I ran into a few bugs. tho..
1:I can't use NEI on the moon or spacestation. it won't function..
2: a few trips to space and i learned besides the "Launch pads, rocket, such it doesnt give a fuel loader.. "
Ideas i have for this mod..
1: Remove the parachuted chest when going to a new planet, just have it show the rocket landing, so we can use the w,a,s,d to navigate the rocket to a safe landing. have the parachute deploy at the top of the rocket while we are falling down to the planet surface..
Maybe have a Chance your damage your ship upon landing if you land on your side, or horizontal.
2:Orbital stations. The main space station as i managed to build with iron,tin, steel is floating over the overworld. . so it has me thinking, what about a station per planet/such
3: Drop Pods at stations.. A craftable Drop pod, you have to attach inside a Chamber you build on the station the pod basically falls down to the planet. However it has a inventory of its own, but CAN'T carry a ship in it, but you can prolly put materials... It will also not drop if your carring a ship in your inventory.. this way you have to build the ship on what/ever planet your on..
4:Chance occurance: Astroid field... >.> like for saturn, etc to get down to the planet surface you gotta navigate your ship through the astroids. to make it safly to land... The orbital stations would be just inside the field, so this happens only when traveling to a planet for the first time..

1:Solar flares: An occurence that happens to space stations that are located within reach of the "Sun" this only occurs during "day" if hit by a flare and your station is unprotected, also while any machines are running it will jam them, maybe even deplete the energy you have in them, Batteries become very valuable to those who don't have protected stations..
means to protect:: maybe a force field of some sort.
2:Astroid collision... I see fallen astroids on the moon's surface you touch them you get burnt,, i also beleive i saw one hit the moons surface and break blocks or that was a creeper but if one hits your station that would be fun... you'd have to do repairs to your station.. Especially if a Large scale storn of astroids occur.. but that should be a very low chance of happening. Since they travel at high speeds, the forcefield may be good, otherwise using "Solid" Alloys, will protect you.. preferably have a rather BAD effect for those who cover their station in obby...
3:Alien encounter.. The martians are mad the players have been colonizing on their planets using them as target practice, and even bait to draw away the space zombies..... So a non peaceful faction of them regulary sets up raids onto the space stations, using "Space golems" that are anything but player friendly..

For your ideas, the first one is actually somewhat in progress, you'll see what I mean in the next few updates.
For space stations, I'm not sure what the plan is for space stations around other planets, well first we have to finish them
The drop pods are an interesting idea, so the player doesn't have to waste fuel to get down to a planet they've already been to, but the inability to bring a return ship I don't think would go over well. We have plans to add in a multitude of planets and some of them might not have the materials necessary to build a ship. Given that, if the player were to land on a planet without titanium, then they would be stuck with no hopes of ever returning home.
Asteroid fields are something Mic and I have talked about a fair bit, mainly to get to the outer planets. We haven't yet decided on what to do about it, but I think we agree that some form of a navigation challenge like that will be added. I'm not saying it will be soon, but it is coming.
I really like your solar flare and asteroid storm idea, and it's very realistic. I wouldn't say once a day or so, since such large flares and storms are rare in the real world. But, it does provide an obstacle to the player in having a functioning station, as well as a way to overcome it. I'll definitely bring this up
The alien attack is a great idea. It would be very cool to have to defend your station against angry alien villagers and high tech attack golems, maybe even with your own mechanized security system. But again, such details will probably need to be put on the backburner until beta or at least until we get the planets in our solar system released.

Ive found out if you restart your ssp world (quit game, go back in) it usually fixes it until you jump to another dimension.

Try changing the "Space Stations require Permission" value in the Galacticraft config.
Hopefully soon yes, I've been working hard to get a version I'm happy with for an upcoming addition to something
Thanks for the help but I won't be using Galacticraft for some time until it is more well developed (As in fewer bugs and more content). Also, do you have an estimated release date for the Crossbow Mod 2 update?

No release date other than soon. I don't know when I'll feel good enough about the current dev version of Galacticraft (few enough bugs) to leave it for a couple days and update CBM2. It is much harder than other updates because of the 250+ sprites I need to separate, name, and then reference with the new Icon setup.

Why do you need that much oxygen? Also the oxygen system is nowhere near complete, meaning balance changes and possibly new ways to get, store, and distribute. Should also try adding more distributors, if you really need that much.
It's not designed to be a beginning stage mod. You're gonna have to work for a ship. When you think about it, how much does a rocket cost in the real world? A metric crap ton of resources. So it makes sense that a ship in Minecraft would also be somewhat costly.
As for progression, just hold on for a bit, and you'll have something new to play with. I promise

They are not finished. The reasoning behind giving people like DaveChaos and the Yogscast dev builds is to show what's coming down the pipeline.

Good idea, but in order to store any fair amount of oxygen, it would need to be compressed. Which means that just sucking it up wouldn't quite work. However, since the oxygen system isn't done yet, gathering oxygen on such a planet may or may not give bonuses to gathering.
At the moment, fuel is not an incredibly difficult commodity to come by, so implementing a difference in fuel costs would be a bit time-consuming and not very efficient. Once more is added to Galacticraft, then maybe such details can get some attention, but right now main content is the focus.
I'm not sure what you mean by the space station idea with removed flight time.
Sorry, let me rephrase what I said. Instead of "blasting off" from the space station like you would from a planet to achieve orbit, wouldn't it make more sense to just undock your ship since you're already in space? So instead of wasting fuel and time waiting, just take a player leaving the space station to the galaxy map right away, since you're already in space.
And I totally understand the need to prioritize main content first. Me being the big space nerd I am, I couldn't help but make a couple suggestions XD.

I just use the launcher for a pack im working on. I dont think that would effect it most likely it was just the mods i was using im not sure what would interfere with the ItemRender though i dont have optifine installed aswell

Again, probably not high in priority, but just one of those details that we'll eventually have to get to. However, I don't think the player shouldn't have to use fuel, since for a safe re-entry, the boosters would have to control the rocket's descent.

I have all other Universal Electricity mods except fluid mechanics and Assembly Line. I also have flans mod and Biomes o' plenty and Forestry.

I screwed up and clicked one of those huge advertisements that say "DOWNLOAD".
