I'm sure this has probably come up, but I'd rather not sift through 180 pages, can someone please tell me if there's a way to put enchanted books in the bookshelf slots of the fancy workbenches? I know I could just use a bookcase, it just looks so... out of place where I want to use it. XP

Unfortunately for you, the fancy workbenches can only take recipe books.
I just released BiblioCraft v2.0.0 which supports Minecraft v1.8.9. I posted a detailed blog on it at www.bibliocraftmod.com. Go there to read more and download it.
I also just wanted to let everyone know here that I do still read the forum, even if I don't have much time to respond these days, I still like to read it.
Congrats on the 1.8.9 update, Nuchaz! I look wholly to the 194/1910 updates (they should be MUCH easier from what I hear), excited to get to use one of my favorite quality-of-life/aesthetic mods again. Good work!
Where can i download the 1.8 version iris there a v1.8?
there is no 1.8, but there is 1.8.9... go to bibliocraft official website.. there is an explanation provided by Nuchaz. that he said that there will be no 1.8 and he is planning on fixing bugs found on 1.8.9 and also update the mod to 1.9.4/1.10.2 if i recall thats what he said
I found a weird texture glitch with Plum Fancy Signs from Forestry. (MineCraft 1.7.10, BiblioCraft 1.11.5, BiblioWoods Forestry 1.7) When you place them they don't look pink like the planks do, but some kind of boring pale color. I did some research and apparently the crafting receipe for plum panel is glitched, because NEI says it needs to be made out of 6x fire instead of 6x plum planks. I'm guessing thats why the fancy sign ends up without the wood color. I have checked the jars for textures, but I can't find any fancy sign textures I could change. Any way I can fix this that anyone knows of? Here are two screenshots:
Tryupdating/reinstalling bibliocraft, extra woods, and the forestry version. Make sure the versions are all explicitly compatible with one another(forestry might be too old/new for the extra woods version you have). Remove all texture packs.

Something in there should fix the issue.
I haven't seen any newer downloads for 1.7.10 that I can update to, I have checked that multiple times already. That would have been my first step before reporting any bug.I also don't have any texture packs for bibliocraft, so I don't know how the other texture packs (vanilla and a handfull of supported mods) would mess up a receipe? I use faithful32 with any mod add-on that fitted my pack, but there were none for bibliocraft nor for bibliowoods. I also found a couple of other signs that also used panels made out of fire instead of their respective planks.
As for forestry being too new, that is very possible, I always keep it up to date, but bibliowoods isn't updated anymore because of model paneling or something like that. Well, that is either clearly not in this version (maybe the 1.8.9 version?) or it is not working for fancy signs, so either way it's a mess right now. In my inventory it does look pink, but when I place it it does not. So I suspect my version of forestry will be the problem.... That's weird, item id's should still be the same and those woods arent new. Any way I can let biblio woods know the correct receipes, or is this just unfixable?
Assuming everything really is compatible with one another, the only possible fix you can do it use minetweaker to remove and replace the recipes.
Hmm, that is a good idea. I am going to look into how that mod works tomorrow, make a list of messed up receipes and try it out. If I get it all worked out I'll report back to tell if that also fixes the textures!
Just popping here to tell you that this is such an awesome mod and why nobody told me before it existed its so perfect thank you for existing aaaand actually I might have a little request, do you think it might be possible to make the Desk Bell to have a Receive mode (how it currently works) and a Emit mode (sends when pressed)? Right-click with Screw/Hand-drill to change. I know it's kind of redundant, like a button clone, but there's something unique in its little "ding"...
...yes, I can see it, the perfect adventure map.
After a long day of travelling you enter the Inn. The place is warm and welcoming: a few simple wooden Tables; Bookcases and Paintings covering the walls. A Fancy Sign hangs over the main Desk. It reads: "Ring bell for service". As the cheerful ding fills the room, the Inn-keeper makes its appearance (if you weren't so tired you could swear it spawed in front of you). It greets you in a chat-friendly manner:
<Maewood> Welcome, traveller! What brings you to the lands of Caown?
OOOOPS, I didn't mean to do that TL;DR: incredible mod, thank you for your work, a Desk Bell that emits redstone would be awesome, keep being awesome.

I was researching what exact receipes where bugged, and I have found a larger issue affecting a lot more items in BiblioWoods Forestry. It recognisese NONE of the slabs in any receipe. I hadn't seen that before because I was trying a few things out in creative for a future base. This means anything using a slab is not craftable, including labels (and thereby fancy signs) and a lot of furniture, as well as different types of storage.
Strangely only about a third of the fancy signs has wrong textures, so I think that that can not be fixed by fixing the receipe, but that they are coded with the wrong texture regardless of the receipe, see screenshot:
As this was way too much for me to code I decided to file a ticket about the issue, which can be found here! I know officially bibliowoods is dropped, but I hope that maybe they are willing to look in to the code and check if they can find the error in a minor update. When you don't ask you will never know.
So I have an issue with this mod and Sponge. If I add Bibliocraft to my Sponge server, none of my Sponge plugins load. It acts like it is just a regular Forge server. I am running Minecraft 1.8.9, Bibliocraft 2.0.0, Sponge 1.8.9-1890-4.2.0-BETA-1595, and Forge 11.15.1.1902. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Happiness is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth.
i have been keep an eye on your progress through your twitter.. and i see you have issue with the GUI.. have you considered that it may have to do with the texture pack that your mod has..
well i have seen that problem before.. i know its not forge or mod.. its the texture pack.. so try check your texture pack to make sure its correct for 1.9.4/1.10.2
I just released BiblioCraft v2.0.1 for Minecraft v1.8.9. I fixed some crashes and the inverted custom painting textures.
I believe I have the issue with spongeforge fixed. So hopefully that helps JasonAvis.
Going back a page, I just want to mention about BiblioWoods for forestry; The furniture paneler in the newer versions of BiblioCraft basically replaced the BiblioWoods packages. The paneler can take any wood plank, or log, or other solid block and apply its texture to the framed bibliocraft blocks using the paneler. I might bring back some of BiblioWoods addons in the future, but in a different kind of way, since the technology is built into the base BiblioCraft now I won't have to make a bunch of new blocks, I just have to spawn the framed blocks with an extra NBT tag. Really, all they would be are recipe addon packs since the functionality is still possible without BiblioWoods.
re: kluckart
Unfortunately, I am not using any resource packs in my testing environment and the issue is not just in the GUI, but also in first person, third person, thrown on the ground, and placed on item frames. Basically all instances where a custom model gets rendered as an item. The blocks seem to work fine, its just the items that are a bit of a mess. Kind of painful to even use the way it is.
The issue is the method that is used in 1.8.9 that applied rotations, scaling, and translations (x, y, z movement) is no longer being called in 1.9.4 or 1.10.2 for some reason. It seems that it gets called for other types of models, like json models, but I am using obj models. I created an issue on forges github about it, I suspect it may be a bug in forge and I am waiting for someone that knows more about how forge handles this stuff to have a look at it.
Hopefully either I can get it figured out soon or someone from forge can have a look and figure out the bug or let me know what changed and if I need to do something different (and apparently not obvious). That is the last major issue in having a 1.9.4 / 1.10.2 version (I tested and it works on both with no changes).

I dont mean the "resource pack".. i mean the default one... within the mod... like minecraft has its own resource pack.. anyway..that explain the issues... i understand whats the problem. thats a good thing that you figured it out.. and i hope that it would get solved in future.. soon as possible so you can finish your last things in the version of 1.10.2/1.9.4.
and yeah i know about the 1.9.4 and 1.10.2... few of mods i used on 1.10.2 are even 1.9.4 version when the 1.10.2 came out, that goes same for forge that came out in few days. well it went well. but now all of them are updated to 1.10.2.. of course.
