Aroma, which log? There weren't any errors in the log files. Anyway, I just updated both Core and Dimensional World, so will have to see if it repeats here. Also, is there a way to return the eternal day in the mining world (not seeing anything in the config files for this)

The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
During the first backup after server start world is created (i.e. right after server is done startinggenerating the world), AromaBackup causes multiple CMEs: https://gist.github.com/iarspider/9d7ee959faddd2e51204 (only the important part of the log). I'm not a mod developer, but it looks like that backup is happening too soon.
I read back a couple of pages and noted that you had mentioned that a "total rewrite" was done for eternal day and that it may not work yet. Does this rewrite apply to the spawning of animals and enemy mobs? Does the mining world do anything with the config files? Is there a list of config options we can put in somewhere? (That last question is more for interests sake)
For the last while I've been playing an ATLauncher pack (Modsauce for 1.7.10) and its mining world is configured (somehow) so that neither animals or mobs spawn. Hitting F7 doesn't even show the yellow/red X marks. I switched over to the Direwolf20 pack for 1.7.10, found that the mobs do spawn. I checked the config files in both the AT pack and FTB and the spawning of both mobs and animals are set to FALSE.
This part is more for an FYI. I also noticed when I wanted to test this spawning issue out that on my local brand new test world, I cheated in the parts to make the mining gate, and it took over 5 minutes to build the world, and when I got into the world, I was hitting LESS than one FPS until I managed to get out of the world. So I went back to the DW server pack, played around making a small bunker, then went back to the test world, and now the FPS is back to where I would expect it, but mobs and animals are still spawning.
I KNOW it isn't 'appropriate' to ask an ETA, which I'm not since you don't owe me anything, but, is enforcing the non-mob spawning thing being worked on at least?
AT World: Currently at
Dim World=1.7.2-184.108.40.206 (Ok, I'm surprised at that one that it even works)
FTB World: Currently at latest release published at on OP as of this date.
I looked 3 times in the main thread, checked the config file, did some google searching... and cannot find out how you jsut enable the scheduled backups.
Using /help I found /backup schedule command, and ran /backup schedule set 30, but it crarshed the server. I assume you need the <30> tags around the number of minutes?
Also, it says that auto saving is disabled. With my experience with backups in the past, you have to save AND backup. Will just enabling backups auto save when it runs the backup too? Or do i need to enable it specifically?
(On a creeperhost server I had enabled nightly backups, then found out that without Saving, it was just making a backup each night of the world from the last time I had saved.)
edit: I think I figured it out, just run /backup schedule and it turns the auto backup on, and it defaults to the 30 minutes set in the config file. I will leave this here for other people to hopefully find.
When using your backup mod. I keep getting this error
[16:13:10] [AromaBackup/INFO]: [§1AromaBackup§r] Starting Backup. Server may lag for a bit!

I get this then, the server is still running, but players are unable to log on, and I am unable to type things into the console. The server stops responding to input.
I am using
I am using the modsauce pack. This error seems to happen at least once a day sometime multiple times in the same day. I noticed you and compact machines, but i figured i'd post it here since you were at the bottom of the stack-trace.
You are probably using a highly outdated version.
And yes, backing up WILL automatically save the world.
If you still have problems, just send me the log.
I did run into problems, it isnt running backups. I am using the DW20 pack that was just released. Looks like it has AromaBackup 0.0.0.4
I tried /backup schedule set <30> and the server crashed, this was the log:

When I logged in to my server today and went to the mining world to check on my quarry everything was gone. After some looking around I noticed that the whole dimension seems to have reset.
I was wondering if this is supposed to happen - which I doubt - because I couldn't find anything in the configs that I could change. I also wanted to mention that the server didn't crash overnight and when I looked through the logs I can't see anything besides messages like "saving chunks of DIM6" and "unloading DIM6".
About your backup mod: how about create config option "worlds white list"? I have only 1 world which needs a backup and I have 7 test worlds, which don't needs a backup. But these worlds are backuping. And I again and again delete these backups... Don't like it.

Or maybe an in game option to disable the backups for that world. Might be more accessible if its an in game option then a config file since you would have to manually match the string of the name of the save. Anyways I like your idea
