Hm, it would be nie if you could resurrect this mod! But, in systematic cycle of working (if you want). On one day/week, you work on Flintlock Weapons mod, and on second you are resurrecting the Minegunner mod. How about that?
Well I'm not sure why I would simultaneously work on two nearly identical mods, haha. It would be best just to merge them and take the best features from Minegunner into Flintlock guns.
Duude! This mod is not about the XXI era guns, it's about older guns, which doesn't was like that. In meaning:
-No rapid fire
-No rapid reload
-No rockets
-No flamethrowers
-No scopes
-No grenades
-No other of this fancy shmancy shiny guns and weapons
Summary - No overpowered guns! As the title says "Flintlock Weapons". *sigh* Another COD/MW3/CS player which don't know how the first guns looked and worked. Spend some time on Wikipedia and learn about history of weapons.
Agreed. BlueFireRobot, if you are looking for a good modern gun mod try Simple Guns or Ferullo's. And as for your installation problem, try deleting your .minecraft and starting from a clean install and be sure your minecraft is up to date. And still feel free to post your map in the Mapping section of this forum and recommend that it be played with one of the aforementioned modern gun mods.Oh, and also, does anybody have contact with minecraftmine.net? They put up a post about this mod, which is awesome, but they haven't kept up with the updates and they haven't responded to my attempts at contact. If anyone could help with this it would be much appreciated by everyone looking to play this mod!
He is not gonna add any modern guns, so everyone shut up. This mod is about FLINTLOCK guns, not modern ones. I suggest you try Ferullo's gun mod if you want modern guns.
Thank you for being my policeman about this! And yes, I will not be adding any sort of modern weapons in this mod. The most out-there thing I have considered is a scope for the musket, as telescopic scopes were indeed invented early 17th century, just not in widespread use. I wouldn't know how to code this though.
I thought this mod was great. I think that you executed it perfectly and I enjoyed it. So I showcased it on my Minecraft Mod review series. (I hope that you don't mind according to the previous posts you didn't so I made one.) I had fun with it and I thought it was awesome that you tied some realism into this mod. Great work. I can't wait to see what else you add to this mod.
Here is the video I made:

Nice mod. I have a suggestion but it might make people hate the mod, which is to remake the way to reload your musket. In order to reload, you must have gunpowder in your inventory. Next, you must hold a key (other people decide) to pour gunpowder into the musket. Then you have to use the rod by holding a key on the keyboard again(crafted in the musket as it is stored inside it). And finally you press a key/right-click once to load a musket ball. The process should be random from 13 seconds to 20 seconds(normally 15~16 seconds). And also, muskets are actually inaccurate but has good range and damage. Hope this makes it more realistic.

I don't believe I will be overhauling the mod's reloading system. Even with your system, taking a realistic amount of time, you could still run around and dodge monsters and such while reloading, when in reality you would need to devote most of your attention to reloading. And I am aware that muskets are actually quite inaccurate, but the mod needed an accurate, longer range weapon and the musket is at least more accurate than a pistol
I have considered making a seperate modern guns mod based on the concepts from this one, but its a long shot. It would probably not be until this summer when I have more time on my hands
Oops, just realized that the buckshot crafting picture in the main post is no longer correct. I changed it in v1.3 to make it more logical and didn't update the picture. The crafting is now string, roundshot, and paper in a horizontal line through the middle of the crafting grid.

Actually, a rifle can take the place of the musket. It is indeed a long range and accurate weapon but reloads slower than a musket. The musket can be less accurate to resemble a rifled musket. And also, can you make smoke come out from the gun barrel after it shoots, that will be awesome, I like your mod!

I'll consider. And I actually just got particle effects working last night, and they look great! They will be included in the "great update"that supra107 refers to, along with durability and repairing, more balanced crafting, and new weapons.
I realize I just said I'd keep things a secret, but just because you created an account entirely to make that post (or that just happens to be your first), I will say I plan to add one. Maybe not now, but sometime.

It's planned out, just needs to be re-coded and put out in the next update. It will take 8 iron to make a pistol and more for any other weapon.
Well, I've been on this site a couple of times to get mods, but this is the first one that made me want to create an account in order to thank the creator, and talk a little about it.
So, Thank you WillDaBeast509, this a fantastic mod. With having gunpowder, but no guns, I have wanted firearms in Minecraft for a long time and unlike many other mods, this one fits the ethos of the game.
While I love this mod, I do have a few nitpicks about it.
1. Holding the guns. In the inventory screen you hold it like it's a cookie!
2. I feel the revolver is a tad overpowered. It only needs an extra iron ingot to craft it over the double-barrel flintlock, while providing three times the ammo capacity. Leaving me with the question; "Why would I use a different gun?"
A way I feel this could be remedied is by needing a piece of paper in the construction of loading a shot like with the hand cannon, to make a paper cartridge.
3. The pistol isn't a flintlock weapon graah nash complain complain! (I guess it could be a percussion cap revolver)
Like I said, these are all minor issues I personally have with a fantastic mod, and I look forward to what you have instore next.

Nope, I don't mind at all. Thanks for adding it to the main post!
I made a short review

Sounds good. I'll post a timeline when I have one though just so people know when its coming.

I'm not sure why that would be happening. Maybe just lag.
I'm not saying which weapons will or will not be in the next update
