changes for this have been made in the currrent betas, where all the bugfixes for 1.2 are right now. It will be released as soon as we can be sure that there are no other bugs.
What is the command to change the default group? When people come into my server they are guest without permission to do anything. I need them to be Members, how to I add them to the group if Im not there? I cant be on 24/7 adding them, and I have looked everywhere for an answer.
I had to strip the protection mod off because guests couldnt even break a block if I wasnt there. At least they can break blocks, they just cant do anything else.

I used /setspawn to change the spawnpoint of my world, but this appears to have broken respawning at your bed. Whenever anyone dies in the world, they respawn at the setspawn point. I want people without a bed spawn point to respawn at the main spawn point I set, but if you have a bed spawn point, you should spawn at your bed when you die. Is there a way to do that? I do not want to enable the /bed command to let people teleport to their beds...
Ok, well that's not the greatest. Please clarify - is this spawn behavior linked to using /setspawn for a world or will FE do this whether you do a /setspawn or not? If it only starts working like that after setting a spawn, how do I remove the /setspawn for a zone?

/feperm default group set Members
this is the FINAL release for 1.4.7, it has been marked as the VersionPerfect build for 1.4.7.
No, it's /feperm default set <groupname>
solved
the new system for spawn points does not allow for it to be overridden by beds.
