Customize your Friends' Names and Give them Capes!
FriendColour is a client mod that allows you to give your mates capes, an extra nameplate tag and the most useful feature: customize your friends' names and add colours etc.! It is customizable with the advanced, user-friendly FriendColour GUI.
You can now quickly change players in two new ways:
Get close to them and press F.
Hold down TAB to open the server playerlist. Then scroll through the online players with your mouse wheel and press F.
More Lovely Information:
If you edit a players' name etc. it will only be visible on your own screen.
Local list: A local list is what you want to create. You can have a list for each group of friends. E.g. one for people you know IRL, one for your friends on a specific server. If you change someone's name in a local list, there is no way for them to know that (excluding the following part); as the client itself only edit how it renders the players etc. If you then host this list on a server etc. other players can add this as an online list.
Online list: An online list is a list that gets downloaded from another player/a server etc. each time you load up your Minecraft. You can not change this list yourself if you add it as an online list. The host will see this list as a local list. How to host a list.
Capes: The current size of capes should be 64 x 32 pixels.
I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi (a mini computer), that's available 24/7. On this computer I've decided to store themes that you'll be able to use if you have permission. Unfortunately, I can't let everyone get access to my network, as that would overload both my computer and network. People have been pirating this mod and have been uploading it to various other sites, so I want to keep the control over the amount that can connect to my computer.
To get access, I just have to know a little about you
Anyone who submit the following application in here will get access to my themes-database. So please fill in the following application and post it as a reply, you'll be added within 14 hours
Why you want to have themes:
The "Custom Cape Url" box is intended to contain the web-address to the cape.
You can find these web-addresses by heading over to www.minecraftcapes.com
When you find a cape that you want, press the cape button (shown below)
After that, copy the address to the image you're currently viewing (it should end with .png) and paste it in the "Custom Cape Url" box
Please remember that some capes don't have the right size and will not fit in.
To create a local list, press the New Local List button.
Select a name for the list you want to create. Step 3.
Press the Edit Players in List button. This will take you to a book containing the players in the list and their preferences.
Fill in the players preferences (Preferences Guide) and move through the list with the arrows at bottom at the page. Each page represent one player.
When you are satisfied with your list, press the Keep Changes button.
If you want to start using your list, press the Activate button.
If you don't want to use your list at the moment, press the Deactivate button and your list won't get loaded for now.
Press the Save button and the list will be saved as a text file located in:
It's done! Now you can see your friends (and the other players in the lists) wear the new names etc.
Create an empty text file inside your Public Dropbox folder.
Right-click the file, press the Dropbox label and press Copy public link
This is the link that users of your list will type into the List Address box after they press Add Online List. Tip: Save this link, so you can give it to other FriendColour users later.
Start Minecraft and open up FriendColour.
Press New Local List and type in a name for your list.
Press the Edit Location button.
In the first new textbox, write the filename for the list that you created in Step 2.
In the other box, type in the full path to your Public Dropbox folder.
It should look like this:
Press Create List
You can now manage your list like a local list, and the people using your list will always get the changes you make.
