Do all the ore, fruit, nether bushes need light to grow faster?
I have my fruit bushes outside in the daylight, and I have my oreberries in a small cave that is lit with torches but no direct sunlight and they both grow at about the same rate - I get a good amount off both of them
Hello mDiyo. I have to say, I really, really love the concept behind your mod and it has some very exciting potential for future development. Despite how much I have enjoyed testing out your mod I find I am very torn about wether or not to add it to my server. This mostly stems from how utterly powerful some of your tool enhancements are and how relatively easy they are to obtain on a server is already established. Specifically I am talking about the ball of moss\s repair enhancement and the molten essence's smelting enhancement. The behavior of these two enhancements together utterly nullifies the utility of tons of materials added by my other mods on the server. Since these tools will never really degrade it makes using all materials outside of your mod useless. Since the pickaxe can smelt what you mine and apply its fortune to the ore it renders the smelting pickaxe from Thaumcraft 3 null and makes the Onyx furnace from Simple Ores useless.
I have no problem with the existance of these enhancements, I only just ask for the ability to maybe tweak them in the config. I would have no problem with them if I could lower the rate at which repair works to make it a little more comparable to the Thaumcraft repair enchant or make both recipes more expensive (blaze rods and mossy cobble is really easy to acquire on my server thanks to some mods). Maybed you could even change it so that the Auto-Repair and Auto-Smelt traits are tiered like the other traits and certain tiers can be disabled or made more expensive. Also if you could add a config option to disable Fortune applying to Auto-smelt that would be very appreciated.

the smelting pickaxe from Thaumcraft 3
? The pickaxe of the core is no longer autosmelting, but rather has a chance of giving an item that when smelted gives 2x ores. Fortune increases said chance. The only major mod (that I can think of) that adds a auto-smelting pickaxe (besides this one) is Twillight Forest, and that one is rediculously hard to get (compared to this one).
Plus, mDiyo shouldn't have to change his mod because other mods make it "too easy". This isn't an addon, so "too easy" isn't tConstruct's fault.
Edit: Oh, and I do believe getting "fortune" is very difficult. Lapis Lazuli is also not that common. Unless one of your sever's mods nerfed it. Which is your fault.

Okay, so looking past your needlessly harsh attitude towards what I said, it's less about the mods making it "easier" and more about wanting to put new features on an already established server where we already have alot of resources. Certainly this is in no way his fault, but the recipes are still very easy to produce. Dungeon's are very hard to find and clearing out one of mossy cobble can easily make a few of these enhancements. Also, incase you hadm't noticed this mod has been made with other forge mods in mind, and often these mods give you ways to produce mossy cobble or add it to special generation. The adjustments I recommended would benefit this mod's ability to compliment various other mods, not just those of my server and most would require little work to incorporate.
As for the pickaxe I forgot about the change as I have not used Thaumcraft since Thaumcraft 2 and I was looking at adding 3 to my server. But anyway, I understand your criticism, but I do not understand your patronizing tone. Thanks though.

To be fair, Auto-repair is not as useful as you might be thinking. Last time I used it (or rather, two of them), its rate was so slow, I decided not to waste a modifier on it.
Autosmelt is not a unique to this mod, and infact wasteful when used with other tech mods. You can get dusts from ores, which allow you to get twice the amount of ingots. Autosmelt will only give you one ingot, so again, not quite as useful as it sounds.

It seemed to repair fairly raipidly for me, but maybe I just need to do more extensive testing though. I still think it would be neat to have multiple tiers of repair though. The autosmelting is still quite powerful when combined with fortune on a server without any high powered tech mods and even with the tech mods it doesn't require as much buildup (though to be fair getting to and surviving in the nether isn't always an easy task on a modded server).

I'm not sure if this has been requested or not (I'm sure it hasn't since I starting watching this thread), but when you make armour, could you add a dagger belt accessory? So you can carry say 6 daggers (5 in the belt + 1 in your hotbar) for throwing, and it throws them off your belt before the one in your hotbar, and all picked up daggers go to the belt instead of your inventory? Similar to how the forestry backpacks work.
Not sure how difficult it would be to code, but would make the throwing ability of the dagger much more useful than it already is.

First off, please use spoiler tags when posting crash logs, and second, update to the latest version of Tinker's construct, this was fixed ~2 days ago.
Surprise weekend of family visiting is over. No internet again, hooray for not getting anything done!
hehe3301: There will not be a wiki. I'm trying to get everything in-game so you don't need one.
Epidemia78: There are serious problems with the 1.4.7 version. It's bad enough that I don't want anyone to have it, modpacks and all.
DeadL0cust: The progression is weird indeed. The only thing you need a level 3 miner for is obsidian, and level 4 needs something better.
Podimann: Redpower isn't getting updated. Not for 1.6, not when the modding API hits, not ever again.
Jackiecrazy: I have went over the gregtech reverse smelting recipes with someone recently. Greg assumes auto-smelt is only for ores and shouldn't work on other things. He also refuses to change the recipes to macerator recipes or something similar. I recommend you turn his recipes off.
Revemohl: Smells like bug. I'll look at it.
ace5000: At some point we will have better modifiers than redstone. We will also have tools that mine more than one block at a time.
DocForrester: I've already tweaked repairs to an acceptable level. After 50 repairs you'll end up with a tool that takes twice as much material to repair. Couple that with how modifiers make the tool need more material to repair and you might use 6 iron ingots to repair a nice pickaxe.
Older versions of 1.5.1 I don't mind giving out. ^^;;
Team_Noobatrix: Natura was known as Flora & Soma in 1.4.7. You can find it on the InfiCraft Thread.
Tinkers' Construct has no (public) 1.4.7 version.
Trawne: That does sound like an interesting idea. I'd like to see it "pick up" mobs too. Heheh...
Propagandaperson: XP is a terrible mechanic and I will never use it.
jakeb16: There is not. I mean to fix that soon.
JearBear05: Golems and oreberry bushes are a sticky point at the moment.
Lfty: That's a Gregtech "bug". Disable his reverse smelting recipes.
LanceLander: I have no toes to step on. Do whatever you like. ^^;;
iwoLegoman: There's a few known bugs; that one happens with super tall smelteries.
FSMAcolyte: Oreberry bushes need the exact opposite of light. Nether bushes don't care.
Zabadar: Repairs get more expensive as the tool has modifiers added. They also get more expensive over time; repairs degrade the tool a bit.
I plan to make the mossy modifier more expensive in the future. Natura will get its own form of moss growth; you'll see it then.
Nisheeth: Auto-smelt is more useful when paired with Luck. You get 1-4 ingots per harvest for an average of 2.5x material. This is still somewhat less useful than any mod that mines the entire world (Quarries and turtles come to mind).
DarkSirrush: I have plans for such a thing. We will have throwing knives in addition to daggers.
It's a known issue mDiyo is working on, a lot of us are having the same problem. He/she is updating weekly now so expect a large amount of changes at a time.
DocForrester: I've already tweaked repairs to an acceptable level. After 50 repairs you'll end up with a tool that takes twice as much material to repair. Couple that with how modifiers make the tool need more material to repair and you might use 6 iron ingots to repair a nice pickaxe.
That's ok, I'm quite happy with the way it's working now, I just wanted to offer the idea in the event you still wanted to limit the number of repairs.
would someone mind telling me how to remove liquids from a smelterly without any other mods installed. I want to remove the water I put in there from melting ice and I can't seem to find where it tells you how. also if anyone knows how to get brownstone bricks that would be nice to know (they might be from natura IDK)

Just pour the liquid into a casing (I think it works)
as for the brownstone...I forgot how you made it :I

Oh. I didn't know that luck worked that way with auto-smelt. Now This is a good way to get resources early game!~
Because of the way repairing works now, I find myself having two of each tool. One made out of a really good material with minimal enchantments(Luck, Autosmelt, Diamond on a pickaxe, for instance.), and another made of paper with a diamond and 350 redstone, or a paper rapier that's just loaded with quartz for emergencies. They require a lot of paper to repair, but with a large scale reed farm, or a large-scale tree farm and Thermal Expansion, it's practically free.
I can't wait until the Armor/Bow update. I'm really looking forward to making armor our of paper and somehow managing to negate every bit of damage possible.
I've got oreberries in broad daylight and the lot of them haven't grown a single berry in several RL days, so I highly highly doubt that.
KBI Enriched Gravel Mod -- sift out nuggets and chunks and make gravel useful! (Outdated)
Tinker's Construct Recovery Addon -- get back some of your half-used tool materials! (Outdated)
I have my fruit bushes outside in the daylight, and I have my oreberries in a small cave that is lit with torches but no direct sunlight and they both grow at about the same rate - I get a good amount off both of them
We should also have wax. It would use tool durability but do more.
Maybe a brainy stuff.
And even Vis Shard stuff.
I have no problem with the existance of these enhancements, I only just ask for the ability to maybe tweak them in the config.
LanceLander: I have no toes to step on. Do whatever you like. ^^;;
iwoLegoman: There's a few known bugs; that one happens with super tall smelteries.
Ah, that sounds great! Thanks for letting me know.
That's ok, I'm quite happy with the way it's working now, I just wanted to offer the idea in the event you still wanted to limit the number of repairs.
You really never know , and i'm old enough to have experienced enough of those awkward situations... thank you v. much though
That was a big "mah bad". I overlooked diamonds, should've known better with you behind the wheel. Hope you had a good time with the fam!
as for the brownstone...I forgot how you made it :I
Oh. I didn't know that luck worked that way with auto-smelt. Now This is a good way to get resources early game!~
Pour liquid tin over gravel in a Casting Basin.
I can't wait until the Armor/Bow update. I'm really looking forward to making armor our of paper and somehow managing to negate every bit of damage possible.
