Mistaqur's NEI plugins has support for TC recipes. For brownstone just place a piece of gravel in casting basin and pour tin from smetlery over it (1 tin ingot is enough for 8 brownstone). Of course after manually making 5 pieces of brownstone you remember why you don't play TFC, however it can be easily automated. Here is my system, with hopper timer using 9 items: http://i.imgur.com/WfvmSIE.png , if your timing is too fast you can end up wasting tin.
No Laloth, there are no 1.4.7 versions on this topic, someone somewhere might have one. Either way it's better to just update or wait, because there are problems updating and it obviously wouldn't have as much stuff that the 1.5.X version has
Lame! Thats what I hate the most about minecraft, the way constant updates screws up everything. I have no interest whatsoever in vanilla minecraft and couldnt care less about what minor new additons they add. I cant tell any difference from 1.2.5 and 1.4.7. If I were a modder Id stick with one version for a long while cuz its not like starting a new world is something you do every single day. And I wouldnt remove links to older versions either...

I guess that's why you're not a modder. There is a vast difference between 1.2.5 and 1.4.7. Besides, updates have tech additions (the new creative menu, and singleplayer commands) and bugfixes.
And guess what?
No one cares that you don't care about additions.
Code still changes.
As for the older versions, to many morons like you were asking for updates for a depreciated version of a mod. It's mDiyo's decision.
I would think this was also brought up before, but currently you only have dos level 3 for mining materials and one of them is slime crystals and of course obsidian. Meaning, you have to somehow find obsidian to mine it (unless you craft a diamond pick). I think that steel should have a TConstruct recipe and have a mining level of 3 along with dropping the durability by 100.
EDIT: Granted, one could go to the trouble of killing some slimes or installing a mod that creates more opportunities for slime balls (mo'creatures, harken scythe, NEI, etc), but when the higher level ores are more simple to obtain than a level 3 miner It creates a weird increase in difficulty in the middle of the tech tree.

if you are going to call someone a moron you had better check your grammar first.. if you ask me, its the morons who update asap then come here crying that their mods dont work anymore. Considering that 1.4.7 has an extremely popular modpack to which tinkers construct would surely be added, it seems silly to NOT work with that version.
Hey MDiyo, I've got a feature idea:
If you have clouds in your inventory / hotbar and you're sneaking, if you go off an edge then the clouds automaticaly get placed around your feet so you can walk out over air!
Also a minor bug - the right-click to place the block to the right of the pick forces a check on whether or not you are in the way, even for things like torches. I'm just finding it annoying that I often have to take a step back to place a new torch in my mine.

Some people think outside the box. I throw the box out the window
its funny because someone was complaining for it placing blocks without checking for entities (like the player) so mdiyo changed it. I guess he could add a check for non-solid blocks.

You can mine diamond with iron. You then get your iron pick and add a diamond to it which then allows you to mine up to obsidian.
"trouble of killing some slimes"
You mean playing the game? What next, you're going to say 'well you could go through the trouble of mining diamonds to coat your iron pick'? Don't be so lazy and find excuses for everything.
i am sondrex but you can call me sondrex76 if somebody know a forum admin can you tell me i realy want to talk with them about why i got banned for no reason at all.
Great mod! One thing I've noticed, though, is compatibility. Gregtech, the all-famous mod, has a recipe to smelt blocks of stuff back into their item counterparts. Your lava crystal+luck makes the block drop more than 9, duplicating the blocks to be broken and duplicated again. I have experimented with all the pickaxes and the results were all dupes that work in recipes. Perhaps you can re-code that part or ask Greg for that?

I make some mods that are pathetically slow to update. Join in on the wait here and here.
Do you plan on making pickaxes more effective at some point? I just did some testing, and with the best enchantments on a diamond pick and the best modifiers on a pick with a manyullum rod and head and a paper binding, the manyullum pick doesn't hold up. You can get the equivalancy of an efficiency 5, fortune 2 diamond pick, but that's the farthest it goes. I'd like to see your tools buffed to be a bit better than vanilla, aside from easy repairing. Perhaps make the manyullum and cobalt picks faster by two levels or so?

It seems that I missed out on diamond, my mistake. With other other certain mods installed, slime generation seems to disappear in my instances hence the lack of slime without adding other mods that create different methods of obtaining slime. Granted this isn't mDiyo's problem or maybe even how he wants it, it's his/her choice. It also isn't about laziness, if it were about laziness I would just download NEI or play in creative mode and you would never hear a word about it. Without getting as "flamey" as I really want to with you, please refrain from being rude, insulting, and presumptuous for the sake of the thread creator. It lacks class, is not constructive, and is unwarranted. I don't know where you came from with that, but I'm surprised because I did not expect that kind of crap from anyone on this forum.
Are you talking about one (or several) of the FTB packs? Because you should realize that most mod authors that contributed to the pack have already moved on to 1.5.X and barely anyone supports 1.4.7 anymore. The only mod I can think of that got a update to 1.4.7 still was Thaumic Bees. Otherwise they all move on as quickly as possible. The packs could be updated if not for mods like Red Power 2 that take a long time before they get updated. Tbh pretty much no one expects Eloraam to update to 1.5.X versions even, RP2 probably won't come back before 1.6. But just because of that all mods should halt their developement on new versions? I don't think so. And keep making updates for two different versions, keeping track of different code and having two different development environments is more trouble than it's worth for most mods, as they can't just copypast all the code, with changes in MC and Forge.
I know about all of that and I never asked anyone to update an old version, just make it available... I install my mods manually and it takes a good while to get everything stable especially considering I use Optifine and theres no way Im going to do it all over again already just for one mod. some people on this forum are so quick to leap to the defense of hapless modders who arent being apprieciated enough that they dont even bother to read entire posts before judging someone. this attitude of persecution is like a disease and causes modders to do pointless, spiteful things like remove old links and generally be grumpy.
Mine ALL the gravel!
Haha, sorry, I couldn't resist.
But yeah. For TConstruct Gravel Ore, use a shovel.
KBI Enriched Gravel Mod -- sift out nuggets and chunks and make gravel useful! (Outdated)
Tinker's Construct Recovery Addon -- get back some of your half-used tool materials! (Outdated)
Ah, thank you.
Thanks guys Going to start again from fresh, once I have done a few, I may put them up here for you to see (as long as that's ok with mDiyo!)

Boath the mod authors said that it would be easier for you to do or that only you could implement the compability.
