Also just for laughs, try "Lord of the Rings" as a large Biome seed in 1.7.2. It has lots of Savanna, desert and plains. Also more villages than I have ever seen in a non-flat map. Every village has a smeltery except for a very few super-small ones.
I can't make the smeltry. I make it correctly but when i right click to put lava in the storage it just pours on the floor and since I can't make the smeltry I pretty much can use the mod any help or advice.
I almost don't wanna make it any taller because as it is the villagers tend to just walk in and then they can't get out XD Can you say free emeralds?
Hah! Make 'em some nice inviting stairs, too - candy leading into the slaughterhouse.

Also, I've flipped shovel textures for Tinker's Construct and ExtraTiC for a more realistic-looking animation, check here: http://www.minecraft...hovel-textures/

Oh I did =P They didn't wanna just randomly jump in anymore once the faucets were on, so I added some stairs ;P Also slightly disappointed to discover only a quarter of an emerald per villager, ah well.
Look at build 24's changelog. "Nether metals nerfed, Steel buffed." I just don't understand why they would be...
Huh, that's odd. Maybe they were causing bugs, and so to push out the update sooner, he nerfed them? I don't know. It is, after all, experimental. Or if you are mDiyo, experimantle.

(speculation) They were nerfed because they were so powerful previously that they were essentially all that people wanted to use for their tools unless they wanted a part for a specific trait. With them being nerfed, there should hopefully be some more diversity in tool selection.
Now with the "experimantle" version ATM, I'm stuck with either the choice of broken item textures/smeltery textures with the molten metals and the traveler's gear, or no traveler's gear and fixed molten metals.
The change that I found surprising was this: - All oreberries changed to essence berries
Yeah. Made me a bit sad. I've always like oreberries in concept. Perhaps they'll be making a return in the future? Perhaps with the ability to be extended by other mods metals as well?

That is an awsome idea! I think I like that one better then my own.

My obsidian isnt mellting.
I'm using MC 1.7.2 and the current download of tinker's construct.
Knowing that this version is an alpha, this wouldn't annoy me so much if i hadn't already created several alumite tools before.
So far, I have tried updating forge and have totally destroyed and rebuilt the smeltery 3 times to no avail. (The Chinese definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing, over and over again, and expect different results.... I guess I know where I fit : ) )
Can you make some options in the config for each effect to be more aesthetically discrete like instead of having the spider eye stick out it would just add the color of the eye to the bottom of the hilt any is there any way that more tools and weapons could be added like maybe crossbows or a more in depth armor system? And any sorry about insulting your work before it was unintentional.

Let me explain these issues to you:
Discrete Textures: mDiyo does not want to change the textures, and the majority of the people using the mod have either learned to live with it, re-textured it to their liking, or just stopped using the mod. However, know that making textures for the tools takes some time, as there are separate textures for each tool, and it is irritating to make them fit. I should know, since I modified the Moss & Silky textures on all of the tools for myself.
New Tools, weapons, and an in-depth armor system: If you want to suggest new tools or weapons for mDiyo & the TiC Team to possibly consider adding to the game, then go to the Suggestions thread in the Original Post of the thread.
On the topic of a more in-depth armor system, mDiyo (and the TiC team) are starting to experiment with armor, and have done so slightly before. At first, there was (for people using the stable version of TiC, like me, there still is) the Exo-Armor armor set that can be modified to have some effects, like Double-jump or increased protection. However, mDiyo & the TiC team are now experimenting with about three tiers of armor, one of which has been coded & is being experimented with. The Traveller's Clothes armor set is now able to be used in the unstable/experimental TiC version. They are made for mobility, not protection.

It is a 1.7.2 forge bug, try updating.
When were they nerfed?

No, only the experimental builds for 1.6.4 do.

Good for you, not everyone can.
