Rassilon: I know plenty well how to hold a sword; I have three of them in my living space. Rapiers are for stabbing, not slashing, and no amount of 3rd person shenanigans is going to dissuade me.
That said, all of the tools have a custom renderer now. I could probably rotate it while in 3rd person.
I realize they're for stabbing, which is not what your sword does. It's hitting people over the head with the hilt right now. Furthermore, there is no such thing as "3rd person shenanigans". Every other player in Minecraft, and the game is intended for multiplayer, sees your rapier incorrectly. It doesn't display right in 1st person view either, since the first-person view is simply 3rd person with the camera moved forward.
Regardless, rotating in your renderer should solve the problem. I would simply mirror the texture myself, but I suspect the weapon mods (flame crystals, diamond edge, etc.) would appear in the wrong place.
According to everything I've read and seen. (Including the in game manual) Basic durability and speed are determined solely by the material of the primary tool piece (the head generally) the shaft provides a multiplier to durability according to the materials multiplier (which is why slime is so OP cheap x2 multiplier) and then all other components do not affect durability at all but add the special modifier of that material (stonebound, jagged, reinforced, etc). Therefore there is no reason whatsoever to use high tier metals in the hammer plates.

I can see a difference in speed damage and durability
That is the point. The guy was saying that the plate material didn't matter other than the secondary properties. I took the screen shots to prove the statement incorrect.
i also have a weird bug were the bow and arrow doesnt show up in the tool station, the spot is there and i can use it, but the symbol isnt there. btw, can anyone solve the bug i said previously (one about tools not using electric charge but instead durability)
Quick question, how can you empty the smeltery when you have less than an ingot worth of liquid?
I tried putting a bucket on the casting table but it tries to make a cast out of it, and i can't pick it up.
thanks

There are 10 clases of people...
...the ones that know binary... ... and the ones that don't.
sarudak, somewhere back in the thread, when asked about what effect the plates had on speed and durability, mDiyo said that for tier 2 tools it averaged speed and durability from the plates and heads.

First off...few questions:
1: saw liquified emerald in NEI how do i achive this?
2: is it possible to make armor yet?
3: can i smelt down metals from other mods?

1. Get a villager in the Smeltary. There is no use for it yet, so have a tank handy.
Also, try a cow
3. There is currently Molten Tin, Steel, Nickel, Silver, Lead, Shiny, Invar, Electrum in the code.
Enchanted Fabric (Thaumcraft) is a valid bow material.
Thaumium is an option for tool materials, but note that you aren't required to melt it down.
I don't know if the Molten Ender is Thermal Expansion compatible.
Well, I was having a little fun in creative testing the "ultima" weapon.
I got a Manyallum Arrowhead/Paper Rod/Feather Fletching arrow, threw both the gold block+diamond AND Nether star on it, and then pumped it full of quarts (2 stacks of quartz, to be specific).
13 HEARTS of damage melee, double that for a full drawn shortbow.
The barricade recipe conflicts with DartCraft. DC's force logs are used in a vertical 1x2 pattern to get force sticks. Trying to do that with the newer versions of TConstruct yields oak barricades instead.
I don't know what the best solution to this would even be, and based on the changelog I don't hold hope of this being addressed in MC1.5.2. Is there a way to disable barricades, or more specifically their recipe?
yeah, sorry if i wasn't clear, i was trying to remember what diyo had said in response to the formula behind it, memory's not so great and wasn't inworld or planning to be anytime soon to check first hand.

24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.
(an ode to minecraft modding)
i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.

I think that the best solution would be for BlueDart to remove the 2 logs = Force Sticks recipe, and instead move it to 2 Force Planks = Force Sticks. mDiyo poked him about it, I don't think BlueDart has done anything.

AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
the electric modifier doesnt work, my tools are fully charged but the eu doesnt go down, but the durability does
Thanks
I know Portable tanks and Liquiducts (Thermal Expansion) have been used in the past. And Railcraft Tanks work too, but that's a bit overkill.
Why would you want to? It's a Teir 2 tool, it's supposed to be better.
Short answer: there's nothing in config for that.

Insanity, lol
