it's both easy... TC just smelt + fortune everything it can so on this side its TC fault on the other hand, greg added the block -> ingot smelting recipes so gregs fault.
Solution: Add a config blacklist for the smelting effect and maybe fortune -> easypeasy.
Greg also created a (smaller) exploit with the infernal furnace from TC3.
His problem is that he thinks he is "fixing" things that simply aren't broken, and has no respect for mod authors (IMO)
mDiyo whan I pust a cast in the stencil table I can only make it into an ingot cast and nothing else. Is it a bug or did you change it?
Could you not read the big bold letters at the top of the thread saying "Metal parts, including iron, have to be made with metal casts and the Smeltery. Casts are crafted by pouring Aluminum Brass/Gold on a tool part or wood pattern."?
Oh, le disappoint. Inventory tabs aren't visible if you have Aether II installed...:c Also, for some reason, if you break obsidian with a hammer through water [possibly other blocks, but I haven't tried others], you'll sometimes only break a row of 3 blocks. It's like it starts considering the water as the block you're aiming for and breaking the blocks based on that o.o

btw Mdiyo, i love your avatar :3
You're the wrong one here. He was trying to say that putting a cast in the stencil table only gave an ingot cast. I can confirm this (whether it's a bug or not).
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I may or may not play GT. I also might be playing it with TiC. Some Metallurgy and ExtraTiC could be in the mix too. I might have also dropped in some TE as well. Some AE and BC could possibly be on the list. And I maybe- just maybe - there's NEI to assist in short-term memory loss that I may or may not have.
Greg has never directly contacted me. The first message I ever saw from Greg about TConstruct was how electric tools were breaking non-IC2 armor and no one should use my mod at all. There has been some indirect contact since, but nothing's come from it.
And this goes directly against what GT says on his thread about contacting you multiple times about it.
However, between you two I am totally going to believe you over him. He seems to be the "My mod is superior" type and it clearly shows that it is is recipes that muck it up with reverse crafting.
Then we went on to say your mod is buggy because you can auto-smelt trees for multiple charcoal, which is a direct implementation by you on purpose. He seems like he knows little of what he is talking about regarding your mod and took your exploit message way too seriously.

But...He said CASTS have changed too, so I don't see how that reply is wrong... ._.

I think everybody will agree that GregoriusT often acts like a jerk. If that's your reason to believe he's wrong, then I would ask you to please reconsider.
GregTech introduced reverse smelting recipes. 9 ingots -> 1 block, and then back to 9 ingots. Tinker's Construct introduced the Fortune attribute for tools, which is absolutely awesome. You can mine ores that turn into more than 1 ingot, get charcoal from trees, etc. But is has a negative side effect when you use it on the blocks and recipes from GregTech. It opened up an infinite resource exploit that GregTech (or anyone else) never intended.
If Tinker's Construct Fortune attribute wouldn't work on those GregTech recipes, there would be no exploit. Asking players to remove the GregTech recipes is a workaround for a problem not caused by GregTech and would severely cripple a cool feature from GregTech.
I'm not saying Tinker's Construct Fortune attribute should be nerved or removed(as that would cripple Tinker's Construct). Just that it shouldn't work on the reverse smelting recipes from GregTech. You can still autosmelt/fortune ores and all the other things you can right now. But you wouldn't have the problem of the infinite resource exploit and have all the GregTech recipes. I think it's really the only way to have the best of both mods.

mDiyo, do you think you will ever use the new model import coding to make your large swords/axes have larger models? Like the modular powersuits used it to make rounded armor.
Keep forgetting to mention this but since made it so you need to use smeltery to cast the metal parts when you set it to how it used to be and allow metal on the tool station with wood stencils on smp only so far the metal part[at least for iron] is invisible.
I had a similar bug in ssp when I would add certain materials I would have to put the stencil in before/after putting the material in for me to be able to craft it but that was before you made the change.
Can someone help me? How do you take a broken item (used too long and it breaks) and then repair it to a usable state? Also, if I have a pick that is 1/2 used, can I repair it to full before I go on a caving mission or do I have to wear it right down to the broken status before I can repair it.
Although my opinion means nothing, I see no reason for mDiyo to bow to the wishes of GregoriusT. Greg can just change his mod to allow reclaiming ingots from block/items in the crafting table instead of having to smelt them... problem solved. Greg needs to get off his high horse. Many mods allow moving back and forth from ingots/blocks using the crafting table.
Uh, in my adventures in singleplayer, I stumbled upon a fun, if not somewhat exciting bug. I intended to clear a forest with my lumber axe. I added the moss and decided i wanted to harvest charcoal, so i added the auto-smelt addition. It works wonders! When I clear trees on flat ground with nothing around it, the axe demolishes the tree as intended returning charcoal. However, when the axe fells and auto-smelts a tree that is adjacent to a square of dirt, it harvests and auto-smelts the dirt. and... the rest of the dirt around it, and for a great distance on past that until the axe's durability is spent.
I found the bug so much fun, I loaded IC2 on to my game, added a battery, charged it, put on my modular power suit with just under a 4 million energy charge, and crashed my game on the first tree i could find. I Loaded it back up but its running slow, as though i set off a chain of nukes (something i have had experience in forceing upon my computer in creative mode) and there are items waiting to be rendered.
Sufficed to say, i'm still waiting on my game to load the destruction. I missed the opportunity to load the error report, but from what i said, it could be re-created.
Thanks again; in all sincerity, i'm laughing. I created a nuke on an axe!

OMG can we please leave this in somehow because that is awesome.

Put it into the table with the material the head of the tool is made of. Act as if you're going to add something like moss or lapis to it, but with the tool material. And yes, you can repair it at any point. As for the Tier 2 tools, use the material the tool head is made of, not the plate[s].

ugh, i hope not, i resent the new MPS models. (except the power tool (which has been there since the beginning), that one looks cool)
Apologies if this has been requested or considered before, but could you change the luck modification on the battle-axe to be Looting and not Fortune? I understand its function as a harvesting tool but it feels much more like a weapon.

You need to make a smeltery and aluminum brass casts to make the metal parts.
Read the top of the post, please. hint: it's in bold letters.
