question on the drying rack. How exactly is it suppose to work? I place a rotten flesh on it but it does not turn into leather. TConstruct_1.6.4_1.4.7.1
After a period of time (sorry I haven't timed it, but it's more than a few seconds) the rotten flesh turns into Monster Jerky, an edible food.
Yeah, I was excited when I saw the drying rack was in now, but it didn't seem to change. Also thought it would be leather, don't need more food :P.
So I really like this mod as well as Natura, but I have one big problem. Whenever I equip TC bows (shortbows, I guess) my FPS nosedives, I mean I end up at like 5 or 6. Does anyone else experience this, and if so is there a way around it?
If not how possible is it to get TC arrows working with MC bows?
PS- probably been reported but a lot of items are showing their id instead of the name.
"When as children we listen and dream, we think but half formed thoughts. And when as men we try to remember, we are dulled and prosaic with the poison of life." - Celephaïs, H.P. Lovecraft
I done goofed somewhere. The stable version wasn't the real stable version, thus 1.4.7.2 has arrived. If you had 1.4.7.1, redownload.
The Smeltery in the development versions seems to have a problem with overrunning packet sizes. It's too big; the new Smeltery is broken by sheer awesome! Unfortunately, it's going to take some time to fix.
Another thing is that the structure seems to be holding on to some data, making it impossible to use properly. A temporary workaround is to tear down the entire structure and set it back up; a proper fix is in the works.

Yup, that bug has been in there for a while, and I believe mDiyo cannot/does not plan to fix it. It's due to the animation of every single layer of the bow, which, especially with modifiers, is quite a few. Also, TC arrows cannot be used with vanilla bows. If you want to have some fun ranged combat, just get Ars Magica!

That's just GregTech complaining because TCon doesn't follow HIS oredict rules. Nothing to worry about.
I thought it was caused by FML. But after running a quick test with just Forge, Tinker's Construct and Natura the warnings are gone. Adding GregTech to the mix results in all those errors being printed in the log file.
Seems like GregTech is trying to educate other mod authors, regardless if they like it or not. However it's not GregTech's naming convention he's trying to push.
Take a look at http://www.minecraft...n_Oredict_names
When using Forge it's common to use standard prefixes and then the type. So for a block of stone you should use blockStone and not stoneBlock which is kinda what mDiyo is doing.
Anyway, mDiyo and every other mod author is of course free to ignore Forge's guidelines and do whatever they want.
@mDiyo,
I just hope you don't choose to ignore this just because it was GregTech who pointed it out. Yes he is a jerk. But there is merrit in keeping naming conventions, especially when so many people collaborate on all the different mods out there. It helps keep things clear for everyone.

Unfortunately for you, mDiyo has long since said there will be no effort made to be compatible with GregTech. It has caused uncountable problems in the past and has been deemed not worth the bother.

That would not just be for me, but for you and everybody else as well.
As I pointed out in my previous post, it's Forge's naming convention we're talking about here. It doesn't have anything to do with GregTech at all except for the fact he's pointing out mods that don't follow Forge's naming convention.
There's no need to 'defend' mDiyo. He can choose to ignore Forge's naming convention, or he can choose to follow it. It's as simple as that and he's free to make his mod in any way he seems fit.

Armor casts seem to dislike the NEI interface. Whenever one should be visible in the item pane, all items after the Chestplate cast do not show up. Along with this, all of NEI's buttons vanish. Minor issue, comparatively - does not cause major crash or noticeable frame lag.
Edit: I feel it is also notable that I use Optifine - it has some forge compatibility issues pertaining to unusual shapes, but it is a recent version from what I can see.
I hate to say it b/c I just recently got a system where I no longer use optifine... but it overrides enough stuff that it really can't be supported.
Consider it a blessing when modders try to support it more than a guarenteed.
Using 1.5.0 d5. Casting basins work but I cannit make casts anymore. No crashes nothing odd in the fml log. Its just that the smeltery doesnt pour into a casting table. Also a weird visual glitch when looking into the smeltery through a seared glass block. The gui for contained liquid metals is also glitching up. Shows the smeltery as full when theres only a nuggets worth of material inside. Would diwload the stable version, but it says the page cannot be found.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 and Java 7u40 while playing MC 1.6.4 SSP via Minecraft Launcher 1.2.5 with Forge 993, Tinker's Construct 1.6.4_1.5.0d5, and many other Forge mods. I upgraded from Tinker's 1.4.6 to the current 1.5.0d5 and noticed that I couldn't place ores into the Smeltery Controller. After tearing down the smeltery and rebuilding it, I decided to relocate the controller directly next to the Seared Tank (With 1.4.6, I had a working smeltery with a seared brick in between the seared tank and the controller). The controller now seems to work only if it is touching the seared tank.
Upon draining the liquid ore from the smeltery, there comes a graphical bug within the empty 3x3 area in the smeltery. I can see it through the seared window and I can see it while looking down into the smeltery from the open top. The smeltery is completely empty.
Here are some images of the graphical bug
EDIT: I tried adding some iron ore to the smeltery even though it looks filled with those graphical glitches. Well, the smeltery controller let me put the ore in but it did not smelt even though the seared tank is full of lava.
Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody hell. All those liberals and intellectuals and smooth talkers - and all of a sudden, nobody can think of anything to say.

Looks like you are running IC2 Experimental with a version of Tinker's before 1.4.7d12.
The experimental branch of IC2 changed how the API works. Tinker's is bundled with the IC2 api so you can make electronic tools in it, but prior to 1.4.7d12 it was using the IC2_LF api (correct me if I'm wrong).
At the moment the 'fix' for IC2 Experimental seems to be update to the dev version...
mDiyo, would it be possible to bump the stable version of TC up to work in the IC2 API fix?
After a period of time (sorry I haven't timed it, but it's more than a few seconds) the rotten flesh turns into Monster Jerky, an edible food.
but how long does it usually take? I've had rotten flesh hang in a drying rack for over 30 minutes, and nothing happened
And one more thing! The new repository for TConstruct source code is https://github.com/SlimeKnights/TinkersConstruct
tecrogue: The "chugging lava" bug was spotted yesterday by us. It'll get fixed soon.
Yusunoha: Drying Jerky takes 5 minutes.

HappyDiggers is a small Minecraft community with several different servers: Adventure, Arena PvE, Feed The Beast, Skyblock, Small World, Towny, Prison, Vanilla and Snapshot.
Type1Ninja: The bow bug is nigh impossible to fix. We'll try again for MC 1.7.
iWareWolf: The maximum block ID is 4095
InsaneJ:...
Those items are registered properly and exactly as they're supposed to be for compatibilty. Which mod is complaining about "bad" entries?
CPB: The maximum item ID is 31999. Items are shifted forward by 256 from the config; don't go over 31743.
@mDiyo,
I just hope you don't choose to ignore this just because it was GregTech who pointed it out. Yes he is a jerk. But there is merrit in keeping naming conventions, especially when so many people collaborate on all the different mods out there. It helps keep things clear for everyone.
HappyDiggers is a small Minecraft community with several different servers: Adventure, Arena PvE, Feed The Beast, Skyblock, Small World, Towny, Prison, Vanilla and Snapshot.
HappyDiggers is a small Minecraft community with several different servers: Adventure, Arena PvE, Feed The Beast, Skyblock, Small World, Towny, Prison, Vanilla and Snapshot.
I hate to say it b/c I just recently got a system where I no longer use optifine... but it overrides enough stuff that it really can't be supported.
Consider it a blessing when modders try to support it more than a guarenteed.

Thanks!!
