Using 1.4.3 Final for MC 1.5.2 - I smelted Aluminium ore and got "Raw Aluminum"
The recipe for the canister calls for Aluminum Ingots".
It doesn't seem to be an item id conflict - both items exist on the same item id, but differ by damage value only (/11 vs /12 iirc).
CraftGuide - and the TK manuals - are not showing any recipes that can take me from Raw Aluminum to Aluminum ingots.
Is this a half completed 1.6.2 feature that sneaked into 1.5.2 ?
Try smelting the Aluminum in the smeltery and casting into ingot casts, that should work since that's the way it's supposed to work.

What other mods are installed? Tinkers' has no "Raw Aluminum", and I can't find exactly which mod it is that does have it.
As yosomith says, if you use the Tinkers' Smeltery to process the ore, it will become a Tinkers' Aluminium Ingot... unless someone is sticking fingers in places they ought not to.

I was pouring into the casting basin, which yielded a block of aluminum, that breaks into 9 'raw aluminum'.
The casting table expects a tool pattern. Where do ingot casts come from?

Place an ingot in a casting table and pour gold or that other casting metal alloy over the ingot.
Is there an issue with this mod on a server and forge 871 as Im still getting the melting takes aaaaaages (plus the gui derps out, flipping back to half heat sometimes) plus i cant use extra utils clocks to automate the faucets on my server, works perfectly in ssp though....im so confused by this issue. Its almost like it doesnt recognise it as a smeltery properly.
edit - yep takes god darned forever to melt anything then once it has melted faucets just do not work.
edit - replacing faucets seems to have worked. This is damn fiddly to get it working on server when transferring world from ssp, but to be expected I suppose...
edit - Nope still massively derpy. all the heat on the ores gets to max i click an empty space in the gui and it resets them...I cannot work this out, ive replaced the whole smeltery brick by brick still no go.
edit - ok currently trying removal of smeltery, shutting down server and restarting, then rebuilding.....fingers crossed.
edit - nope, smeltery is derpy as hell faucets just stop working sometimes as well ive noticed. Im completely stumped.
edit - aaand got end of stream error for the first time in yonks...all i did was break the controller again...something tells me this isnt going to work.
Happens also in SSP and can be reproduced.
If I activate faucet when there is something in casting table/basin, for example clear glass/ clear pane, faucet will not work next time and need to be replaced. Probably holding RMB ( multiple ativations ) will cause same effects on active faucet.
ummm how do you use drying rack? I tried putting rotten flesh like in direwolf20's forgecraft2 to turn into leather but it won't work or do they need some time?
I got quite the puzzle on my hands. So I'm playing on a multiplayer server. I got a heart canister at one point. I put it in its slot and received its boost. But one day, as I was exploring the Twilight Forest, the heart canister disappeared from my GUI, but the health boost would register and then disappear from time to time. I had not died in that time frame. So a friend let me use their heart canisters to see if I can fix the issue. No dice. So I died on purpose to reset everything and the 'invisible' canister didn't drop and random occurrence of the boost was no more. Regardless, I tried the heart canisters again they didn't register at all no matter what I did.
Then suddenly one day when I got another new canister, it works.I was told that I would only need to put them on me once and the boost would stay even if I took the canisters off. I put it to the test and got into a quick fight. Upon taking damage, my health instantly reset to the default of 10 hearts and the boost was gone. So I figured it was only when I had the canisters on that the boost applied, which is how I thought they were supposed to work anyway.
But the same friend that lent me his canisters says that he never needed to have the canisters on after initially wearing them and he was in iron armor at the time. Regardless if he had them on or not or tool damage, the health boost stayed. Nowadays, he wears this Blood Magic armor. I don't know exactly how that armor works, but I think it negates a lot of the damage from his actually player. Just a guess that the canisters don't register that damage, but I dunno, so I came to you for some kind of explanation.
One last round of testing before we get a stable version. I need this tested, broken, destroyed, used on every 1.6.X version with every combination of mods, whatever you can do to it, do it!
Cara: Project red probably has different rules for its wires than vanilla redstone does.
know im using vanilla redstone for power, and the problem repeats it's self.
Hmm.. That is weird because the clocks work for me and I haven't had any problems running Tconstruct on a server. Might be some of the mods that you have installed or try making a new world on the server instead of coming from a single player world.
mdiyo do you think you can fix tool rendering in 1.4.3 for 1.5.2 it is really bugged and also some names for the parts are for example (item.toolshard.stone.)
mDiyo has long moved on from 1.5.2, you're on your own with that.

Also, I've flipped shovel textures for Tinker's Construct and ExtraTiC for a more realistic-looking animation, check here: http://www.minecraft...hovel-textures/
Progress on Smeltery Gigantus is progressing smoothly. It's nice to see things all coming together.
TheLastAlchemist: Golems need large liquid tanks for rain collection. The Smeltery is a large liquid tank... I figured I could do two things at once, then make seared tanks and a tower furnace.
As for the drawbridge, fuj1n has been working some magic on it.
Farproc: If you want aluminum ingots, cast it into an ingot shape. Aluminum in a furnace doesn't work very well.
HI17: Looks like some of the Smeltery changes made it in prematurely. I suggest rolling back to your old version temporarily, emptying it, and then updating.
Farproc: Pour aluminum brass or gold around a brick-shaped thing. Ingots are brick shaped.
mjksull, MrGraphic: Looks like the faucet itself went derptastic. I'll prod it. Anything Smeltery related is getting bashed with a hammer soon.
Kaligraphy: Heart canisters increase your maximum health. If you take them off, you won't regenerate up to your old maximum.
Hello everyone!
Here some problem with TC i think.
I updated from MC 1.6.2 to 1.6.4, and updated mods.
If i created new world without TConstruct items and stuff placed - everything is ok, But when i try to enter to my old world - client crashed with this error http://pastebin.com/kkNCnsg4
In few words - java.lang.ClassCastException: tconstruct.items.tools.Pickaxe cannot be cast to buildcraft.transport.ItemPipe
UPD: Create new world, and try to make brand new stone pickaxe - client crashes with error mentioned above.
Did you use an id resolver?
Either way, you need to the forge client log to see if there are still item id conflicts. Then you need to make sure to resolve them - such that 'new' items added in the latest update get new ids, as you have a world with existing items in it that expect particular ids.
If you have your old config (you did back up) handy, it would help to double check what the item ids of the buildcraft transport pipes and tinkers construct tools *were* in your 1.6.2 modpack.

Just installed Thaumcraft 4, can't use Thaumium ingots I found in a chest in the Part Builder.
TC needs to update the Thaumcraft api it hooks into, I'm guessing?
Quick question about the Mossy modifier. It supposedly works faster in sunlight. Does that mean if I were to place a pickaxe with mossy on a Bibliocraft table, will the auto-repair ability of Mossy work faster? Or must the player be holding it?
How is is calculated? Is it just light level, or must it see sunlight? If it must see sunlight, does it need to have an open pathway to the sky, or will glass block it?

Melt it.
Thaumium doesn't need to be melted. This is a real bug.

I may or may not play GT. I also might be playing it with TiC. Some Metallurgy and ExtraTiC could be in the mix too. I might have also dropped in some TE as well. Some AE and BC could possibly be on the list. And I maybe- just maybe - there's NEI to assist in short-term memory loss that I may or may not have.
Running into a crash on my server, seems to be related to the smeltery. This is running the most recent version available.

EDIT: Found out something in world after downgrading. It seems some smeltery control blocks flat out lost their meta data for rotation, and broke upon the update to the most recent version. These broken smelteries seemed to have caused the crash as far as I can tell.
Try smelting the Aluminum in the smeltery and casting into ingot casts, that should work since that's the way it's supposed to work.
