Sugar can be added to a brownie to create a Sugar brownie, which induces a sugar rush when consumed. A recipe has also been added that allows you to make 'Special brownies.'
Mmm.. The familiar brownie. How could one not enjoy the humble, sometimes moist brownie. Even creepers love a good brownie every now and then. Your Minecraft character is finally learning to bake, if you know what I mean. ;D Remember when you were a kid and you would eat lots of candy and soon feel like you could run faster than Usain Bolt? Sprinkle some sugar on your new Brownie and upon eating the new Sugar brownie you will have no problem evading your foes, rushing into battle, or simply running around for the hell of it. =P
How to install:
Simply toss the .zip file into your /mods/ folder and enjoy~
You will need the current recommended version of ForgeModLoader!

I've made a special update just for you.. Any suggestion on what the recipe should be for this "Special Brownie"? I set it to use grass, but then realized there is no legit way of getting a grass block..

No grass blocks but you can get tall grass with shears.
deadbuilder1 has a good thought, maybe have it so it's brownie mix then cook I guess. Makes a little more sense.
I understand if you don't want me to but could I have a look at the source code to try to understand the crafting?

You should make it so you can eat the brownie batter, but you get a minus effect like rotten flesh does. Also, the mod sounds cool!

Update: New version: 1.0.3. Brownie batter can now be eaten raw with a small chance of food poisoning. It will feed you for 2 points of hunger. Currently trying to figure out how to add multiple potion effects to a single item so that I can enhance the Special brownie.

Glad you liked my idea! I thought of something else. You should make it so you can make sprinkles somehow, most likely with dyes, and then you can add those on top of brownies. Different colors could also do different effects to the player eating the brownies with sprinkles.

How about if you could add different toppings to achieve different effects? Seems a bit more sense to me than using dyes
Anywho, I've updated the mod post with a new version which adds Sugar brownies. They feed you for 2 fewer points than normal brownies, but give a pleasant (or not) sugar rush. ^ ^
The new update also includes some load time optimizations, but they probably aren't noticable since the mod is so small..

What I have planned is a mod that is essentially aimed at making Single Player fun again. I want to add a post-apocalyptic feel, based in modern/near-future times. One of the first things I want to add is a new type of helmet, a radiation mask, which will take damage and show broken glass effects on the GUI as you take damage, and taking it off will result in suffocation and slow radiation poisoning damage. I am also planning new entities that instead of popping out of nowhere into existence will spawn far from the player and move past them to make it seem like they were travelling. They will be humans, sometimes in groups, and will camp out at places etc. You can befriend them and trade with them, or you can attack them and become their enemies, etc.
Also wanting to add player made towns, where once the player has built a house for themself, they will be periodocially visited by travelling humans looking for a place to stay, and you can build them a house or let them stay in your house etc. They will do small tasks such as go out hunting for food or wood, or protecting the settlement on their own. The larger the settlement, the more people it will attract, but only if there is room for them. (i.e. empty houses)
Those are just a few of the planned things that I am currently working on. Don't want to publicly release too much information. Would love if I found more people to test and provide ideas though. Currently our team is only two people. xD

You're not using a furnace, so I don't think you are burning it.
No grass blocks but you can get tall grass with shears.
