So will rifts destroy any blocks, or just vanilla ones? Would it be possible to add a black/whitelist option in the config?
Also, what are your opinions on some of the suggestions I made on the WIP thread? You've addressed a few but i'd like to know what you think about the others.
I made a 9 min short with this mod and 2 others. Just want to see if you guys like it despite my bad british accent. XD
all credit for the mods and sounds go to their owners. including the genius behind this mod.
all you need now is some sort of dimensional monster and it will be AWESOME. =)

*What's the int.ProviderID option for?
Things get lost sometimes, sorry! I am not so sure about the distance multiplying thing. For one, it would be VERY difficult to implement with how you can link in-between different pockets.
And as it is right now, yes, if you go too deep you can end up at any rift in any non-pocket dimension, including dims added by other mods. There has to be a rift, though.
Some commands are incoming, too. And im actually not sure how to prevent the oil wells in pocket dims. Ill take apart buildcraft one of these days and try to figure it out.
Is the fact that when you try to place a block on the fabric of reality block, it replaces the f.o.r block instead of placing the block on top of it intentional, or is it a bug? I would rather it place the block on top than replace it, because the f.o.r blocks give off light as well, am I correct?

FoR does give off light, yes. And shift click to place on top.

Quick note.. Almost off topic, but apparently your video in your OP is not compatible with mobile youtube (meaning my app on my phone) which is a bit odd.. i just wanna see your mod man! Lol yeah probably a tick box somewhere... thx in advance
EDIT: Suggestion time! Maybe you can use the Thaumcraft API to create a Arcane Door for interdimensional travel : D (youknow, the player-locked thaumcraft door but with the teleport effect)
Full support for this idea.
Also, just a suggestion, but how about rifts only form a dimension when you enter them? As it stands(or at least in 1.0.0) one can end up with a lot of new dimensions rather quickly, and they all seem to have to load when the map does(which is very odd IMO, Mystcraft ones only load when you are in them, plus they only generate when you enter them or use /mystcreate). Very strange. I made 6 descriptive books with 1.0.0 of this mod and ended up with 75 dimensions loading when the map had to be restarted due to a crash.

Yea, definitely NOT supposed to happen. Even though, it might not actually be loading those dims, just registering them, but still printing the loading message. Either way, Ill look into it. 1.0.3 might help you with this.
And this mod treats the dims a little differently- Mystcraft ages are generated using an actual worldgen, while my dims I actually preload the basic "black box" into a sorta ghost dim. When you enter any pocket dim, my mod just sets the block arrays for the pocket equal to the ghost dim, so there is no loading screen, theoretically.
This is a very nice twist. Just added it to my world and i'm already hooked! However i cant seems to find any dungeons or such from rifts... i had a few generate but they leaded to more blank rooms
Question regarding Overworld rift spawning. 0 being nothing and 5 being default. how large or small are each increments? like would 1 be extremely scarce and 2 be 5x more then 1? little detail please and thanks!
One last thing... they make a new DIMM in your save each time u have a new demension generated? going to have a lot of dimms fast.
Ok, I've had the weirdest crash ever. So, I was having a little fun with rifts (a.k.a. spawning 30 in the same area and watching them consume everything) when I encountered a few interesting things:
Rifts can destroy bedrock (there should be a whitelist with blocks rifts cannot destroy)
If a rift is created underwater, it immediately destroys itself and drops a half-door ( when created with a Rift Signature, at least) that can't be used.
So, I was exploting a little, and I tried and placed a rift. Immediately, the chunk where the rift was got transparent ( i could see all the caves and lava lakes). I found it funny, and did it again. But the chunks loaded when I got near (at 5 metres, as kinda expected). But the third time I did it, the chunk did't load its "non-air blocks" when I got near it. I standed on it and tried to take a screenshot, and then a message appeared that MC had misteriously ran out of memory. I know it's long, and has no crash report, but it could be useful for something...

Never, because 1.0.3 is out RIGHT NOW!! I just update the OP, and I patched both bugs. Should be safe for servers now.

Love the texture pack, thanks
Make sure you have the latest version, and you have the right forge version too.
Interesting. By malfunction, do you mean shooting rainbow skittles everywhere, or just a crash? Cause I like skittles. Not so much crashes.
