Would you be able to add a hardcore version of this where there is only one block thats at lowest point and you cant die in limbo, no hunger, no damage taken. and also make it so its muted so you cant even hear yourself walk...it would be more fun in survival if its almost imposible to get out
Only one block of ancient fabric? You do know limbo is the size of the overworld?
But they said they are thinking about a way to toggle if ancient fabric takes you out of limbo at all.
That way you would have to go random-walking trough dimensions with deep-dungeon warp doors to get out.
Also there are only 2 ways to die in limbo: by digging straight down into the void (though a layer of eternal fabric could possibly act as bedrock to prevent this in the future) and by starving to death on hard mode.
Making limbo silent is an interesting idea for a config, sometimes Nothing is scaryier...

Well maybe insted of one block make it harder to find because it takes me about 2 min to get out of there

There is already a config option available that controls whether you can leave Limbo by walking on top of Eternal Fabric, as per discussions with Keybounce. If you enable that, then people will need to leave via dungeons in Limbo, which requires finding them. If you activate "Hardcore Limbo", then you'll respawn in Limbo if you die there. Please look over existing options since I'm pretty sure almost everything you want is already there, except for the sounds. That'll get tweaked later.
Is it possible for hostile mobs to spawn in a pocket dimension? If you change the biome type (like when placing a pure/tainted/sinister node) then NEI's hostile spawn red X's appear in that area (when using the F7 low light level function). Mob spawns are still restricted as far as I can tell, as I created a magical forest biome in the middle of a pocket dimension, put down cursed earth and reduced the light level to 0. Still no spawns. Makes setting up mob farmers inside your base impossible without using actual spawners, which require a player nearby (those do work in pocket dimensions though).
Because of how some mods try to take over mob spawning, disabling hostile mob spawning in pocket dims using the biome only just doesn't really work. Instead, we stop them on a world provider level. So yea, no natural spawns.
I don't know about spawning, but you can push any entity trough the dimensional door, even hostile mobs.
Though the last time I tried that it slammed a door on the poor villeger, he got stuck in a wall.
I hope they fixed that.
no, untill they fix/update the OP, you just ask stuff here, mostly me and kiwi
ah, I was just curious what the purpose of the fabric of reality...I have a lot and don't know what to do with it. Also, I tried to use a bed...same results as the end and nether is this to be changed because I'd like to have a home of pocket dimensions

It would be cool to make things out of that stuff. Special armor, items, and weapons from different fabrics.
@stevenrs11 and SenseiKiwi:
Really great work, best mod in my opinion.
I've played now several hours and it's just wonderful which possiblilities you have.
However there are some things I don't understand. For example, I've never found out of the limbo by Dungeons. Is this still a feature and if yes, how deep do you have to go? Did I made it right by going through many iron doors and finally walking through a warp door?
Yeah, deeper you go, the bigger the chance for the dimension to chamge.
I think the overworld has the pure random +10% chance, so it's easier to get home if you have a lot of dimensions.
Also you can't get sent to a dimension you haven't visited yet (becsuse they haven't generated yet).
I think the first level has a 0% chance with +4% (approximately) per each additional layer to "change root".

It has no purpouse besides glowing voidlike material... yet.
New stuff will be added after it's out of beta.
Also I agree on the bed issue, it could just not set the spawn. Or send you to limbo

that would be diabolical...it would be a nice change to being "punished" for trying to sleep in a different dimension by destroying all you've built there

Thanks now it worked.
When do golden doors keep their dimension loaded: Just usual by reading the coordinates or always? Do they also keep nether/end in overworld and the other way arround?
Gold DDors keep the pocket dimension they reside in loaded, I don't know if it works in other dimensions.
On a Tekkit server that I was hosting my computer had a BSOD. After some issues I was able to get my server up and running by replacing the blacklist.txt text with [] and deleting any dimensional door text file that had "NUL NUL NUL NUL NUL...". My server now runs properly and almost every dimensional door works great except for one. Opening the door and entering immediately closes the door and denies me access and right-clicking a Mystcraft book that links there crashes the client. Is there any way to uncorrupt my dimensional door? Thanks.
So is it well established that the only reason this mod used to corrupt worlds was rifts, and by disabling them in the config, there are no such issues?

First, I'll assume that door leads to a pocket dimension.
We would need to have the DimensionalDoors save folder for that world, and maybe we could restore it. However, there is the chance that you deleted that pocket's data. The door may be closing to prevent you from going to a dimension that no longer exists. Mystcraft may be teleporting you without concerning itself with that, so your client would crash upon trying to load a dimension that doesn't exist. Note that the dimension's chunk data might still be stored, even if you deleted its DD data. It really depends on what files you deleted...

I'm not aware of how far back that would be. Dimensional Doors hasn't had any widespread world-corrupting issues while I've been helping develop it. And that began during July of last year. There is also no way to disable rifts altogether. They're one of the main parts of the mod that everything relies on, so it would be akin to disabling redstone in Minecraft.
I'm fairly confident that Dimensional Doors shouldn't corrupt worlds. You definitely can't lose the data for any non-pocket dimensions.
I'm sure they are working on updating it but it may take some more time. Making loads of mini dimensions in Minecraft takes a lot modding awesomeness to work.
bit of curiosity, is there any plans in the near future to update to another version or is development still going to focus on 1.6.4
Our current update is meant for MC 1.6.4. Once we complete the features that we're working on right now, then we'll move on to MC 1.7. That'll probably take one or two months, though.
