Thats the thing, i have no oreLead, but I do have ingotLead/dustLead
So i think your nether lead is able to spawn but due to the lack of a lead ore block (Due to other ways of obtaining lead) an oredict entry isnt being added to your neather lead so its not processable.

Aha, ok now I get you. I'll get a fix for that out later today or tomorrow, I just hadn't expected this situation to occur. Thank you for your patience and details!
Nice! Though I'd suggest A: taking screenshots during the day and B: turning off NEI ("O" by default) . What mod is that displaying the daytime/biome/etc info? I've never seen that before and it looks good.
LOL, Yeah, I started in the morning (ingame). Uploaded. Realized I boned up a few of the shots and went back to retake them and it was dark. Good tip about turning NEI off, actually I try to turn the HUD off altogether when I remember.
I'm also about to throw some shots of an animal breeding setup as well. If there's any interest I'll do some step by step guides or maybe a mod spotlight or whatevs. Or people can tell me I suck and show me a better way to do it.

I drool everytime I see that picture ;P (sorry had to get that out)
The album again.
I will find a better way to plug this than to keep bringing the link up again, bear with me please.
Added 2 shots of a breeding room with egg collector. The conveyors make sure the eggs go by the obsidian pipe in the wall. I really can't figure out any better way to do this. Throwing a combustion engine on the pipe and/or adding more to increase range would just be stupid. CJB mods had a mesh block that let items drop through but not mobs which would be perfect, but since his mod is dead I dont know if anyone picked the block up. If anyone knows any good alternatives let me know.
Also if you use Thaumcraft3, a brain in a jar near the gate will collect the breeding XP.
I'm sorry these are so rough. I am partly sharing them to help other people and partly to pick up suggestions from people who could improve on it. Also aside from the facades/panels that are necessary for function I try to leave the rest off so people can see the inner workings. The power and logistics systems I use in play are also much more sophisticated but I'm trying to cut these down to the base components.
Sewer definitly belongs in breeder and child room. I doubt anything will be in slaughterhouse long enough to collect any, but I have a pipe out and a tank to see.
PC I think the composter output is definitly too low for it to be worthwhile.
The breeder is quite capable of wasting a lot of wheat. I finally figured out why it was using so much, it feeds every animal. On the next cycle it will also feed any that haven't bred. And it will keep doing it.
Yes, this is totally expected behavior. The issue is that if you have say a few standing around in corners or an odd number then they wont find a partner to mate with but they will keep getting fed.
Not a bug or anything wrong with the breeder mechanic, just something to be aware of and keep an eye on. Make sure you do not have an odd amount of animals in the breeding room. It might be better to keep a single animal type in each pen instead of mixing them as I have done. It also might be better to not pack too many in unless you have a ton of wheat farms.

Videos would be great, I basically live in the middle of a highway as far as sound goes; unless I want to lock myself in a closet at 3AM any videos would have a soundtrack of dumptrucks and motorcycles.

Would you prefer the composter to produce more output per sewage, or sewers to generate more sewage?
In other news, I made some progress on NetherOres both fixing the lead thing and also getting the default macerator recipes to work but got held up by FML doing really really weird things. Expect an update tomorrow evening. And for PowerConverters, I think I'm going to move the lava/oil fab and water strainer to MFR, they don't make a lot of sense there now since everything there is unthrottled and those are more resources than forms of energy (steam has already been refined, you can't get it in the wild, so it's a form of power to me).
Videos would be great, I basically live in the middle of a highway as far as sound goes; unless I want to lock myself in a closet at 3AM any videos would have a soundtrack of dumptrucks and motorcycles.
I hate videos lol, but yeah what the hell, I need to get with the times, nobody likes to read anymore. If Direwolf20 doesn't deem you worthy I'll give it a shot. FRAPS still the way to go?
Would you prefer the composter to produce more output per sewage, or sewers to generate more sewage?
I think higher output per sewage, otherwise would probably need tanks for sewage. Not to mention if you upped the output the power consumption could probably stay the same.
I am going under the assumption that putting more than 1 sewer per 5x5 area doesn't do anything (reminder to try that tomorrow) but I haven't tried that either (seems like an unnecessary exploit)
It is hard to try to measure the sewage over time (although I guess I could break down and put in a RC tank for it). I've been gauging by the amount of fertilizer in the chest.
By the way for those following along my growing imgur collection, the sewer in the slaughterhouse does produce a tiny bit, I havent let it run long enough to see if it can fill a portable tank or not, but it probably isnt worth it unless you have gold coming out of your ass and dont know what to do with it.

Cool. I still need to get to the nether and see. I'm curious to see what happens to me with the lead since the only mod I have with lead is TE.
The only thing with the fabs and strainer, isnt the strainer IC2 dependent? Obviously the oil is BC dependent. How is that going to affect MFR dependencies? I don't really care since I use both of those mods, except that IC2 is almost as slow as RP2 to update and it would suck to be held back waiting (maybe a non-issue since Alblaka started releasing IC2 betas to the public). While your at it, some way to make biofuel would be a sure fit for MFR
Added 1 more screenshot with setups for some of the oddball farms. That's it for today I promise, going to bed.
A little production data for the animal farm in my screenshots.
I filled the breeder and let it run empty so 9 stacks of wheat input, 8 each cow, chicken, pig. Oh, and about 330k MCJ of power.
117 eggs, 60 leather, 20 feathers, 104 pork, 44 beef, 16 chicken, 35 fertilizer, 1 arrow, 1 string (I keep the slaughterhouse dark so hostiles can spawn and be grinded, yield would be higher if I stayed far away enough for spawn) and 3.5 portable tanks (So 28 buckets?) of liquid mob essense. Seems odd that the chicken/feather quantity is so low compared to the beef/leather/pork production. Maybe MC chickens take longer to grow? (I didnt use a vet) Looks like we killed 104 cows, 104 pigs and only 36 chickens So I went back and checked and 5 of my chickens escaped the breeding room, so theres the discrepancy.
Also the brain in a jar I put near the breeding area got me halfway to level 34. So if you use TC3 make it a priority.
The sewer under the grinder only produced about a bucket of sewage so probably only worth it if you want to squeeze every last drop of productivity out and are going to play for a long time. I can't believe we are discussing sewage. Raw sewage, I love it! (Leslie Nielson)
So 35 fertilizer back on 9 stacks of wheat...granted I would normally have a pen of sheep that dont consume wheat and would nearly double output. So say a stack for arguments sake.
I don't think you should be able to run the whole thing off a single wheat farm and fertilizer. Other people would probably have more sheep than me (1 or 2 of each color and a few extra whites is about the most I'd ever do) but then those same people would have more breeders too so the consumption would scale.
Somewhere between 2-3 times what it is now maybe? I guess it comes down to how many wheat farms per breeding pair do you think one should need?
Also I am basing the output around the wheat consumption even though there is of course no reason the fertilizer needs to be used to produce more wheat. It might best be used for a tree farm to produce fuel to power the place.
In practice I would do the bulk of my wheat farming with TC3 golems, but I'm a firm believer that a mod should be balanced around itself first (how you would do things if it were the only mod you had) and around what other mods people may use alongside it second.
That mesh would be handy, especially if you put a hungry chest under the floor to pick up the feathers. I'm loving the farm progress btw. (lol the daily farm report) I never seem to automate my farms, I always intend to but never seem to get around to it.

Eureka! A wood golem in the breeding pen. Chest in the floor. No conveyors needed.

Think how much fun mob killing will be with the "combat golems". (I have no idea what he's going to call them, it's just what I call them.)
Yeah, TC just gets better every rewrite. I hope he implements the portals again too.
So the wood golem is probably the way to go if you use TC3. If someone *cough* implements a floor grating (and I'm pretty sure someone else started developing CJB again but I just havent had time to look at it), then you could do an old-fashioned water run (or conveyors if you want to utilize MFR to the full) going to an item collector or whatevs (I'm sure there is an RP2 device (I'm such an RP noob) and probably a half-dozen others but so many mods, so little time)
A little reorganizing on imgur
Much as the engineer in me likes compactness and efficiency it is too cramped for 1 chunk (and sometimes my Rube Goldberg side gets loose), so I'm working on a 4 chunk design (2x2). This does allow combining other facilities, like living space (although the animal noises drive me batty so I like to keep them and my nether portal out of earshot) storage, power gen, whatevs.
So from our last update it seems like mixing animal types in breeding pens might not be the most efficient use of wheat, which was the main driver for going bigger. One thing we gain from this is the ability to control breeding by what we need. A bank of 3 levers controls the supply for each breeding pen. Since we need to decouple from the LP system to do this some gates and pipewire are required to provide overflow protection, but fear not, the wheat supply chest can still be connected to your LP system.
Finally I scrapped the conveyor/obsidian pipe egg collector for a wood golem and chest combo.
Again the golden pipes are used to distinguish from empty liquid ducts so if you are short on gold (and you probably are, newsflash modders, gold hasn't been useless and overabundant since they added power rails :P) don't sweat it, use stone pipes instead.
Also the diamond chests are an extravagance of being too lazy to use anything else in creative. Depending how much wheat you produce you might not need more than a plain old wooden chest. Eggs aren't overly useful in abundance either so keep what you need and voidpipe the rest (or send em to your crucible).
This is still a WIP so more to come. After some playtime (I design in creative but play in survival), maybe I will get around to going to the nether to see the new improved netherores!

Mwahahhahaha nothing like slave golems to take care of animals you are force breeding lol.
I hate videos lol, but yeah what the hell, I need to get with the times, nobody likes to read anymore. If Direwolf20 doesn't deem you worthy I'll give it a shot. FRAPS still the way to go?
Fraps is the standard until you start actually doing it for a living.

Sewers are only 1x1, actually. I couldn't decide on a decent way to handle sewer contention. I thought I called that out in the OP, maybe it just wasn't clear enough.

Not really? Oil is definitely BC dependent. I'd need to pick which power API to use for output, though. Probably IC2 just because it's the easiest to work with by far.
A little production data for the animal farm in my screenshots.

That is a ridiculous level of analysis on numbers I put very little thought into besides making sure it wasn't absurdly overpowered. I will keep this in mind whenever I do a balance update.

What kind?

Yeah it is so I'm not going to bother this time
You didn't. I was going by the "all animal machines are 5x5 unless otherwise noted". Ok so then the composter & sewers are probably fine as they are. It is a hell of a lot of gold to put 25 sewers per animal pen instead of 1 but that sure would keep the composter busy. You probably could run the entire place off 1 wheat and 1 tree farm (and probably have power to spare) then but at an upfront cost of hundreds of gold ingots. Speaking of contention, how do the other machines handle it? I haven't gotten around to trying to put machines in each others radius and see how badly I can derp things up.
The kind of biofuel that I wouldn't need Forestry anymore (so runs in combustion engine, railcraft boiler, ic2, etc,,) preferably the same exact biofuel (assuming it is a generic forge/bc liquid) for maximum compatibility but then I can just see Sengirs fanbois making a big stink about it regardless if it is ok with him or not.
It actually wasnt much work, I just dumped all outputs to a single chest and didnt touch it. Nor did I add any wheat after startup. I didnt even need to make an Excel spreadsheet
Oh, also got around to the nether finally. Deleted the dimension files so it could regen. Wow. The old version I couldn't spit in the nether without hitting an ore (provided I could spit in minecraft and of course it would evaporate immediately in the nether...but I digress ) I had to go searching a bit to find a reasonable selection of ores (and didnt find diamond or emerald )
I know it's configurable. I think the defaults good for normal folk who think it should be balanced, and it's always easier to give more if you've been too stingy than take away when you have given too much.
I didn't have any issue with my lead (but mine is strictly TE). TE is a little funky the way it shows the recipes for the powered furnace (was with old version too). It shows however many of that netherore you have in your inventory as being what it needs to produce 1 ore block. When you smelt it though it does give 1 per 1 as it should. So it's just a minor thing. I dont know if it is on TE, Netherores or NEI's end. I guess should let KL and maybe Chickenbones know.

Whoops, I'll make sure to put that in the sewer's description. And I'll have to look at how to share liquids, but it should be possible.
NetherOres 2.0.1!
Always registers nether ores with ore dictionary (thanks quintine!)
Macerating is back!
Ores no longer spawn if there's nothing to smelt/macerate them into. This can be overridden with a new "forceOreSpawn" config option.
edit: I left a couple debug lines in by accident, if you got yours within like two minutes of release re-download it.

This is still a WIP so more to come. After some playtime (I design in creative but play in survival), maybe I will get around to going to the nether to see the new improved netherores!
What kind?
That is a ridiculous level of analysis on numbers I put very little thought into besides making sure it wasn't absurdly overpowered. I will keep this in mind whenever I do a balance update.
INFORMATION WANTS TO BE WRONG

They seem to work fine to me? What is it doing or not doing? Can you screenshot your setup?
