I got the crash too, and I AM using the latest forge!Ok, so I looked for the forge ending in 518. forge 6.6.0(1.4.7) ended in 519(1.4.6) and 6.5.0 ended in 511. Am I missing something?
got the same error over and over, using latest forge and everything. whenever i entered the portal a single chunk in middle earth would load, and then i would get an error screen after a few seconds.
So, after playing around with this mod for a bit, I wanted to give some feedback. First off, I love the environments. They're very well done, and give you a sense of nostalgia for the movies. Secondly, I saw Sting in here and had to play around with it, and I love that you made it so that it glows when around orcs and stops when not; It's an absolutely lovely feature to have made it in.
Next, I noticed that most of the items from the mod don't have recipes(at the very least, they don't show up in NEI), so I'm not quite sure what to do with some of them. I also took it upon myself to make sure the horse spawning was workin' well, and I noticed that the color spawning seems to be how it should (brown horses: common, Black horses: uncommon, White horses: rare). When attempting to ride the horses, however, the White and Brown horses seem to not even move around, it just pans the camera a lot, whereas the Black horse rides like it should.
I traveled quite a ways around, looking for all the biomes, although I only encountered Mordor(I spawned here, lol), Gondor, and the Shire, so I've yet to see the loveliness that is the Misty Mountains and Rohan, although I did manage to see the Gondor Beacons, which I extremely love. I mean it, they're very excellent items.
All in all, for a mod in Beta, it has a good amount of content, and it's just lovely all around. I can't wait for future updates for this mod, as it is looking to have a massive amount of potential.
Thanks very much for reading, and have a very grand day!!!
EDIT: I forgot to touch on this, but will we be seeing an Eye of Sauron in the mod? I would definitely, definitely, definitely love to see that(One of those generating structures like the Hobbit Hole spawner would be awesome for it.).

That same thing happened to me when I first started playing the mod. I figured out that you need to keep the META-INF that Minecrfat Forge creates, or you minecraft crashes. Try re-installing Forge and do not delete META-INF this time. Good luck!
So I had an idea with regards to the good-evil alignment system and the need for a main Lord of the Rings storyline quest, which wouldn't seem to work together very well. (Imagine getting halfway through the storyline and then slaying hundreds of hobbits - Gandalf wouldn't want to talk to you after that, would he?)
What if you have to complete the main quest, and then the alignment becomes available? Meaning that after defeating Sauron you gain the freedom to play how you wish, so you could continue to work for good in Middle-earth, or form an army with the remaining orcs and Ringwraiths and become a Dark Lord yourself. This could also lead to some pretty amazing battle scenarios on a multiplayer server, with one player acting as the King of Gondor leading a charge against the forces of Mordor led by another player.
thank you!
