PLEASE, folks, don't say ''could you add... please, can you add... make sth... add balrogs, because they're cool''! Mevans already said thousand times, that he planned all these features, but updates come gradually. So just wait, be patient and suggest something with a good reason and well thought-off.
It's just annoying.
Mevans,
Maybe you should make a page on the wiki or somewhere that has a list of Planned Features. Also, you are allowed to include ideas here, just not if they are obvious (I've seen quite a few good ideas go into the mod that people have posted on this forum). Speaking of ideas, I was scrolling down the Facebook page and saw the Elven Traders wear the cape that was 1st prize in the competition... Will there be more opitunities to get capes (not specifically this one, although it does look pretty cool) and have your name as a mob name in the future?
Can you post a list of the biomes/siege weapons survey here? I don't have Facebook so I can only read the first 5 of each. Of the biomes I can see, Middle-earth definently needs a Jungle or Forest. Mirkwood or Harad (did I spell that right?) would be interesting for their sense of adventure but I also what Fangorn (spelt wrong?) for the Ents! The deserts of Harad would add a proper, dry biome to Middle-earth but unless you add Harad villages they might be a bit boring...
As for my opinion on Siege Weapons, you need to add Villages or Castles for us to siege! But I always wanted to fire balls of fire at Orcs... :-p
One of the main reasons I hardly ever choose to be evil is because there is no special tool set like with elves (and dwarves) (and of course I slaughtered the entire Shire in two days, but that's being fixed). Maybe add a Goblin tool set and Crafting Table. Something other than Orcs would be fun to kill. On the subject of Hobbits and Tools, are you likely to add a Hobbit Crafting Table and tool set? Thanks for you time!
Mevans has said that Balrogs will be implemented when the Quest System and Custom Generation Feartures are implemented. Lots of people have asked this question after Sauron was implemented but that was just a taste of what's to come!
Hi Mevans,
Thanks for the list of options! Fangorn does seem very popular... I have made an expansion to one of my Hobbit Taverns so it includes a larder and two rooms with four beds each, so it resembles an inn. I actually think it would be cool to have buildings o different sizes but of the same type so I can post some pics of it if you want. Other than that, keep up the epic work!
What can the two dyes be used for? I can't use them on wool for some reason... Other than that, nice work on the Dwarven Forge! Can't wait for May the 1st! I don't suppose you could release a Snapshot like Mojang does? Also, when are we likely to get a look at Dwarves themselves, and now that Beta 5 is nearly out, what do you have in mind for Beta 6? A biome update by the sounds of it, as well as Ents.
My opinion on the Mithril debate - Mithril should be available for use by both sides, but there should be a Mithril Mail exclusive to good. Maybe you can do something similar with tools, but as I said above, Evil doesn't have it's own tool set so it would be a drawback if you take that away from it...
I'd argue that mithril should be unusable as a crafting ingredient by any evil characters, but possibly crafted mithril gear could be used; after all, only the Dwarves could actually craft the hardened mithril alloy used in weapons and armor, according to Gandalf when they were traveling through Moria. Even Elves appear to have primarily used Mithril for jewelry and whatnot.
You wouldn't argue with GANDALF, would you?
The orcs certainly were in conflict over the mithril coat Frodo wore, but it wasn't really clear if they wanted to keep the coat for themselves or to curry favor with Sauron.
Any plans on a multi-alignment system, where you can have positive/negative interactions with each race individually?
I was pondering a system where, based on your biome, your alignment bar at the top would represent your relative alignment with the inhabitants of that respective biome. So, if you were in the Shire biome, the bar at the top would represent your interactions with the hobbits specifically, in the Lorien biome it would be elves, etc. etc.
A single Evil reputation bar would be sufficient, and ANY improvement in your relations with Evil would automatically detract from your reputation with ALL good-aligned races.
Also, your tin/copper stuff isn't recognized by some automation mods; any idea if that can be fixed on your side?
I was told something something ORE DICTIONARY something something when I asked in one of the mod IRC channels, so I think your stuff isn't registered with the ore dictionary.
Just had a thought on a new Hobbit Crop - Corn! I know it might sound a bit corny bit my ideas are cream of the crop(okay, I promise to stop now)! Also, have you read my ideas about the Dragon Scale, Boars and Ironwood? If not, i can scrool back a bit and quote myself to save spme time for you. I know you don't have time to reply to every comment but I just like to know if you have read the ideas... Nice job on Galvorn! Not real lore friendly, but will there be a matching tool set? On the subject of tools, will there be Dwarf Iron tools? Maybe a less durable version of the Dwarf Steel set?
