Hi, this mod looks epic and i was wondering if it could be for 1.9? And will the Nimatins make a return (They were awesome)? Also will more mobs be added?
More stuff will be added yes. Lots of stuff. I just don't have much time yet. As for 1.9; I'd rather keep the mod for 1.8.9 for compatibility reasons. Most mods are currently 1.8.9 and I know a lot of people like using more than one mod at a time, but I will update it when I see it fit. As for the nimatins, they will probably come back but I don't know when I will take the time to do it since I have to remake the model.
I currently am dealing with a lot at school so I've barely touched my code. My vacations start on november. I'll be updating a lot then.
[Taking ideas/requests for mobs. Include characteristics and a drawing or model if possible.] I'm leaning more towards shape/model ideas and general behaviour. All of your ideas wil be taken into consideration and will be produced according to my likings.
Magmonster - A large, humanoid creature with a shape similar to that of an iron golem. Texture based on magma cube. Spawns in the nether, albeit rarely. Drops magma cream (3-10) and fire charges (1-3). When far from the player, it will shoot fire like a blaze then slowly approach, occasionally stopping to shoot more fire. When only around 5 blocks away, it will approach the player at a slightly faster speed and throw them in the air like an iron golem, but less powerful. It will have a chance of setting the player on fire. Occasionally, from a distance of less than 8 blocks, it will jump several blocks in the air towards the player. If it hits the player directly, the player will take a lot of damage and will be set on fire. If it lands a block away, the player takes a small amount of damage and knockback.
Sorry if it seems a bit random. I just liked your idea of vanilla Minecraft mobs, but stronger and in different shapes, like the ender walker.
By the way, I know it's not priority right now, but will you start porting this to newer versions eventually, maybe when 1.10 is coming soon? I just don't want this mod to do what it did before, in which it got outdated.
Try to keep your ideas a bit less complicated haha. That kind of features are hard to code. I'm leaning more towards shape ideas and general behaviour.
Regarding updates; I will update to 1.9 when others do too. I want my mods version to match the average version being used at the moment because I am still adding lots of features, so I don't want people to be left out when I update to 1.9 and add new stuff.
It's kind of like when 1.8 came out, a lot of people stuck to 1.7 (and still do) because not all of the mods they used were updated. My mod is meant to be played with other mods aswell, since it usually is more fun to have variety.
Sorry, I just didn't want to have too little. If it was just one of the attacks (specifically the iron golem-type one), would it be easier to code? Also, I think you're making a good choice by waiting for other mods to update. There's no point doing it early, but you don't want to fall behind.
Not sure how many people still read this thread, but I just want to let you all know I haven't abandoned the mod, just been very busy with school. Currently working on an update that should be ready in a few months due to the lack of time I have to work on it.
I used to play this in 1.4.7, really would like it in 1.7.10 but i guess thats not happening..
The leap from 1.7.10 to 1.8.9 was a real hard thing to do, and since I didn't update for a long time I skipped the 1.7.10 update from 1.5.2 because i rewrote the mod from scratch. If I had rewritten the mod in 1.7.10 I would have had a real nightmare realising I had to update to 1.8 because of the many changes they did to Minecraft in that version. So no, I will not be releasing a 1.7.10 version of the mod ever as it is very counter-productive to downgrade game versions.
I hope you give the mod a try on it's current version, I've worked very hard to make it enjoyable and I think it is so much more enjoyable now than what it used to be!
