1.4.6 Chainz v1.0.1 Released. Added Slingshots to the mod.
What is new? Well its time to reach down down and uncover the Dennis the Menace side of you. Introducing Slingshots.
Slingshots are much weaker then their range counterpart, The bow. However what they lack in strength they make up in passive abilities and different ammo.
Each successful hit to a target inflicts Confusion (Players) or Slow movement speed (NPC) for 5 secs.
What kind of ammo can the Slingshot use? The list below is the current ammo pool for Slingshots. Note ammo is automatically selected in the players inventory based on best quaility.
-In order from weakest to strongest-
Seeds: Ammo damage: 1 heart.
Melon Seeds: Ammo damage: 1 1/2 heart.
Pumpkin Seeds: Ammo damage: 1 1/2 heart.
Cocoa Beans: Ammo damage: 1 1/2 heart
Spider Eye: Ammo damage: 1 heart. Special perk: Inflicts poison on living targets, and wither on undead targets for 5 sec.
Netherwart: Ammo damage: 1 heart. Special perk: ignites targets on fire for 5 seconds.
The damage seems quite low.... why? I have balanced out the Slingshots in many ways. Check to see how slingshots become very powerful tools!
1. Just like bows they can crit if fully charged.
2. They are fully enchantable with bow enchants
3. The passive on hit confusion/slow is very annoying if target is under consent bombardment (test it out )
4. Slingshots are cheap to make, and are great for starting new worlds
5. A special Harken Scythe Augment may very well find its way to Chainz.
Last note, I am fully aware the Slingshots and Asgard Shields encounter an odd switch thingy. Asgard Shield will be updated with a fix later on.
I play with a lot of mods, so I recognize me some quality
Your ideas are very solid. I'll do some playing with your mod to see if I encounter any bugs, but if not then you sir are now on my list of modders to watch!
Perhaps add a block that allows chain to pass though it, purely for design purposes for an elevator, to allow you to have one elevator block in one cornor, and the other corners be chains.
I made sure the slingshot can not fired unless the player has ammo in their inventory. This goes for creative mode and Infitity enchant. The reason for this is to ensure the slingshot knows what ammo type to fire. However no ammo will be consumed.
Hmm... once I add the Entities Config, try changing that to a higher number. Till then I guess Inf Cocoa Beans your slings will shot @_@
I believe I found your problem Char. Take a look in your inventory, do you have any "Dye" related items carrying with you?
Atm I have a strange problem with Cocoa Beans and other dye type items taking the Sling Shots firing Cocoa Beans. (This is due to Cocoa Beans not being a normal item, because of its sub numbers...)
I believe the problem was caused by you carrying some sort of dye on you at the time of firing your Slingshot. Since Cocoa Beans is 3rd on the priority list, the slingshot would try to use this ammo above others.
Working a fix as we speak.
Edit: Fixed
1.4.6 Chainz v1.0.2 Released: Elevator Layer Customization Addition, Adjustments, bugfixes.
What is new? There isn't much that is "new" with this release, mostly adjustments.
First, I have added a new option for Customizing Elevator Layers with Iron Chains to provide "Support Chains" look.
This addition can be use to hide the Main Elevator's Chain (with other blocks, but still have the main Block somewhere for players to click), and give the appearance that other chain(s) are what supports the movment.
Next, I have increased the Crafting output of Iron Chainlink to Iron Chains, from 1 to 2. Now Iron Chains won't be some Iron resource hungry.
Slingshots were having an odd behavior of firing all Dye type Items... there was a chocolaty mess everywhere @_@. This has been fixed, and once again Cocoa Beans are shot correctly.
Lasty, there was a very bad Iron Chain Duping bug. Which has now be fixed
But to answer your question: It can take from 3 secs to 3 mins to recharge.
Cool. Thank you. Weaving rooms are definitely the way to go.:)
Oops, my bad, I had that that you just needed to flip the lever. It does work after all. Thank you.:)
