Pulleys will be able to store 4 stacks of Iron Chains.
I used to use a mod that seems to have died now.. Awesome Elevators I believe the name was.. anyway.. you crafted 4 elevator pads with diamond and iron ingots and was able to place them like this one, as in the ability to place them in any shape or size as long as they were connected and then right click the pad to get it to auto move to the designated floors.. It auto deteceted floors depending on the material that you selected to be considered a floor and you could craft buttons that would call the elevator to the floor that you were on if it was not already there..... Ie., you are at the bottom of your mine shaft and die for some reason then spawn at your bed. you go back to the top of your mine shaft and click the button and wait while the elevator came back up. It was an awesome mod but seems to have been abandonded by the modder.. ...
Anyway.. I would love to see some of those abilities with this mod as well.. Thanks for your hard work with this mod and keep up the great work.

The Iron Chain Pulley storing capacity and texture is finished. Just have to place it in action with the Iron Chain Elevator Gate and Iron Chain Elevator.
The Iron Chain Elevator gate so far can move up with 2 block limit (Still looking for bugs before more layers are added).
Over all its closer to finished then not. I just been sick lately which has slowed my coding greatly. ~_~
I found a bug/incompatability with railcraft and standard track pieces, not sure if you intended this to even work with minecarts on it as I haven't tried that yet. I took some screenshots to show:
I lay down some track pieces and everything is fine before the elevator moves:
Move up one block and the standard track becomes sloped, something I didn't even think of when I tried it. The railcraft pieces also get weird, but I'm assuming that has soemthing to do with that mod.
Move up another and the sloped rail beside the elevator breaks:
Just figured I would post this in case it hadn't been found out yet. I guess track could just be laid every time around, but I decided to go with chests anyways.
More likely it is vanilla mine track mechanics. You could always use a piece of his rail that doesn't need a block under it there, and that "should" work.

Just remove the rail adjacent to the elevator, stop one block above the ground, and put a booster rail so the cart jumps the small gap onto the rails.
The other one is that when you move an elevator too fast it makes it so that you can't move stuff (ie levers), you cannot pick up drops, you cannot use items but you can place them, and when you save and quit minecraft freezes at the shutting down internal server screen. It seems to only happen in the Twilight Forest Dimension. Maybe you need to add better compatibility with this mod and the Twilight Forest mod.

Thanks! Here's another note. This happened with an elevator I made out of Nether Brick and it's dimensions are 5X5X5.

But with a longer chain and it can be pulled back after it is thrown, kind of how the fishing rod works in minecraft.
