Are there some magical install instructions that will work for installing it on an MCPC+ server (forge965-B193)?
I've got it installed in the server jar but it crashes starting up.

It is not compatible with MCPC+, sorry. I may add that support later, however.
I wonder if implementing Immibis Microblocks as a dependency mod would make this easier to develop? The reason I say that is the Microblocks mod adds 3 additional versions of existing blocks so there isn't any need to create a new block at all. Basically this mod would basically do two simple things:
1. Assign the properties of snowlayers and snow to the Immibis snow Microblocks, as at present they sound and break like cobblestone
2. Cause snowfall and snowballs to add Immibis blocks to the world based upon whatever rules you deem suitable.
The microblocks mod add slabs(half block), panels (1/4th block) and sheets (1/8th block) so the initial layer of snow would be a sheet, 2nd is a panel, 3rd is a slab, 4th is a slab + sheet and do on. These would all build up gradually giving a much more smooth look to the environment as you would expect from snowdrifts. Because of how it adds hex values rather than block IDs it would make Better Snow highly compatible with other mods.
BetterSnow does not use block IDs, it uses damage values for the existing snow ID. The default damage of 0 is the default height, the max value of 15 is a full height snow, and the rest are scaled. Microblocks does the same thing. It would be interesting to use an API instead of direct modding, but it would probably be better to wait for an API(s) that would allow me to port the entire mod, rather than only part of it.
It was madewith .804, but it should be compatible with any 1.6.4 version.
After having tried it... it isn't.
Or at the very least, this mod is incompatable with liteloader, which I used as well.
Edit: Stupid me. I looked back at my settings and I realized that I forgot the JVM Arguments:
-Xmx1G -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
that I need for modded .jars.

Yeah those flags are the main reason for jar mods not working with forge. I actually know how to force them to be on, but It would require the mod starting completely differently. However my mod API just happens to loads that way...
Hi, I have tried to install the mod but I couldn't. I did install forge and putted it into the mods folder but didn't work then I tried to get the files from the mod 's zip file and put it into the minecraft.jar (in 1.6.4 in versions) but minecraft is not opening when I press Play. Then I thought that I had to put the JVM Arguments:
-Xmx1G -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
As the previous mate said (IceAlchemyX) But still the same thing it is not opening, I need your help, I really want to try this mod :(.

Never mind, I am sorry it was my fault, I just didn't know that there is installation instructions, after reading it I figured out what was the problems:
1-I forgot to remove META-INF
2-I had to put space before adding the JVM Arguments.
So I'm having install problems with this, I put all the files into the forge jar but when I start the game all that happens is the launcher closes but the game doesn't start. I have the all snow mod and I really want this one but I can't figure it out! I'm using forge .953 btw and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it before

I feel like an idiot for not reading through the most recent comments before posting this I forgot the JVM arguments

I'm glad you got it working! If you encounter any issues in the future just include the contents of the Development Console in the launcher, and I will be glad to help!
This is one of those mods that is so small, but so awesome. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! For the 1.7.4 update this should have some nice improvements, since I am porting the entire mod to my new API. This should make it much easier to release updates in the future.

That would be very difficult to implement, since both dye and snow height use metadata, which can only store one value.
I was seeing .804 here
, but I was wanting to use this with .965.

Actually I could, I will add that as an option for the 1.7 update.
Yeah, to options and then snow settings.
