i dunno, regular villager towns are sometimes hard to find, and they're not that rare. making them really far apart and limiting them to 8 would mean you'd never meet them normally unless you knew precisely where to look for them. imagine searching for a stronghold, except it's tiny and you get no ender pearls to find it nor the knowledge all 3 are somewhere in the radius of 1000 blocks from the center. it would be an interesting gameplay addition to make regularly appearing maid towns (except they could spawn in almost all biomes, not just 3 or 4) and make them appear in the world only that way though, like the regular villagers. obviously not everyone would like that due to rarity of villages, so it'd be optional.
Good points; in hindsight; I had forgotten how impossible to find I would have made them. How about, more like one maid town per 16x16 chunk region? with a tendency to be located in plains, tundra, and desert biomes, over others
Ok then.. how about a craftable item, a detector of sorts that would help you find maid towns and/or individual maids? Call it a "Moe Meter"! ...sorry, now I'm just being silly :-)
Hahahah, "moe meter" for the win! Though since I'm also trying to code a replacement for the RadarBro mod, I had previously thought of adding support for finding the little maids through the on-screen radar overlay....

Now, for the bad news. A week or more ago, I made a change in my copy of the code that did not appear to work as expected. Unaware of this, I kept working, making more changes, thinking some of the errors I was trying to correct were holdouts from ModLoader-based coding. I hadn't even committed changes to a repository, not even a local one, to revert the changes. But now, I found that many classes are so "borked" by errors, that I'm seriously looking at blowing it all away, and starting anew.
[Sigh.] I have been face-palming so hard just now, and placing my own image in that "critical fail" meme in my mind. Honestly. For when you fail so hard, you just have to share the bad news....
I think a lumberjack or minner could be more difficult to implement, and a fisher and/or farmer would be awesome.
About villages Ithink it wouldn't be bad if maids still spawning as now.
The skills of each maid would be something very intersting, as explore to find the villages would be in sintony with the 1.7 biomes.
Your 'little maid towns' sounds like you are about to reinvent Millenaire.
I like the idea of maids having individual skills. A maid who is a flop as an Archer could be a whiz as a Cook. You wouldn't know until you tried them out. Or they could improve with experience.

Wrto coding fail-- I've heard programmers say that some of their best code was written after a crash wiped out everything and they had to start over from scratch -- with a much clearer idea of what they were trying to do.
I found my first maids in Extreme Hills Edge. I've since found many in deserts. I found one group of 10 or 11. Nearby was a Desert Temple with another half dozen. Temple handmaids?
Some of them were carrying bits of zombie meat or cactus I had previously cleared. I shot a creeper and a free maid rushed over and grabbed the gunpowder before I could get it!
Dam. Forgot about this mod until I'd already built the new pack my friends and I are useing. I made the pack on 1.6.4 and it crashes. Something about the MMMLib so I assume it is not mods but the version. Oh well, maybe someday. Good fun though.
Your 'little maid towns' sounds like you are about to reinvent Millenaire.
Funny you should mention Millenaire; ... that's another idea I've been keeping penciled in. Not so much for LMM to go that route, but as another mod idea; just funny that some of those ideas leak into this one mod.
Wrto coding fail-- I've heard programmers say that some of their best code was written after a crash wiped out everything and they had to start over from scratch -- with a much clearer idea of what they were trying to do.
I have heard that, too. And it wouldn't be so frustrating if I would have been using version control software; at least then I wouldn't be starting from point zero.
I've wondered the same thing... or a digger/miner mines a 3x3 tunnel in front of her... consumes sugar faster than any other mode
I think another mod does something like that -- have you heard of the Minions mod? Although I suppose you, like me, probably do not like the "do three acts of evil" in service to an evil entity to gain that power....
On the flip side of the coin, I would not be sure how to balance requiring more sugar; it's a more strenuous activity (than standing in front of a furnace, cooking something) but not necessarily more damage-inducing -- or, were you referring to needing more sugar because it seems to be more difficult a task?
If so, would it require more sugar per 3x3 tunnel section, or 3x3x3 cubic volume? Or even for every n number of blocks excavated? And what happens when reaching lava (flowing or still), or a gravel vein above, or a gorge cutting across the tunnel?
mDiyo has reported to me (the manager of the custom maids sounds pack that he uses) that, as of yesterday or some point within the last couple of days when he was playing other games, the Minecraft launcher has started wiping the assets folder of all 'unofficial' sound files, including wholesale deletion of the LMM folders. Is anyone else having problems with this?
Check the cfg file inside sound/littleMaidMob. It probably refers to 'mob.ghast'. If so, delete it and replace it with the littleMaidMob.cfg file from the soundpack you want to use. BTW, what sound pack is that?
nothing in the cfg refers to ghast sounds, and the pack is the amitaro pack
I'm using FTB and trying to get sound packs to work with it, but the config files don't have any sound effect lines in them. It seems as though the files that use the sound effects are in a class file and he now uses a separate mod called Audiomod to change their sounds. This is so frustrating
I'm using little maids and mmmlib version 1.5.2-6 I believe. I am running minecraft at 1.5.2 and i can't get this to work. I'm REALLY tired of having a ghast up my butt day and night at my house. I don't know who or why he wouldn't just add in some cute sound effects to his mod instead of leaving it with ghast sound effects, its horrid and basically ruins it.

try putting the custom sound folder in both the .minecraft folder and the ftb instance folder.
try putting the custom sound folder in both the .minecraft folder and the ftb instance folder.
That's the way that works for me in 1.4.7 ftb
I said I was running 1.5.2 minecraft but I meant the FTB Unleashed pack. I did have it in my .minecraft/resources/mod/sound/little maids but would I need to scale my minecraft back to the proper version to get it to pick up? I know with the 1.7 minecraft to edit sounds you need to know bit of coding for things like json files or something. (excuse my confusion if that's just for new sounds) I really like little maids so freakin much, but りさぐみ さん...the sounds choice...This would be so much easier if I could just make my own mod pack but thanks to power crystals not being up to date a lot of the mod packs for ftb are stuck at 1.5.2 I did put together a list of the mods (in unleashed) and found that denpipes doesn't even have a download page either lol
EDIT: Idk what you did, but I love you. I tried this earlier today and it didn't work. (I was probably using 2 different files since I downloaded like 6 to try them out when the first one failed MISERABLY) Talking to you works magic upon my minecraft files. I should make this a daily occurence, maybe I'll get griefed less by mobs >.>

I finally finished the High School DxD textures.
Simply click the link in my signature to download and unzip the hsdxd file. Place this folder in your MultiModelSet>mob>LittleMaid folder. LMM will automatically read each folder separately so do not make any changes unless you really need to.
I've included an alternate short sleeve version, hats for Serafall and Sona, and a cape for more accuracy.
For a while, I've been thinking about changing the other textures from SA to VUD1 for the sake of simplicity but the twin tail and ponytail are a bit different on both. Also, the skirt size for the VUD1 model is slightly smaller.
Another thing I learned is that armor pieces ending in _40 will act as an overlapping layer while those ending in _50 will act as a shell on the maid texture. I've managed to give the maids a little cape resembling that of the anime for those who wanted a little more versatility in their design.
In addition, my LMM download link has been updated with five additional maid templates and premade bases. Anyone interested in working on your own little maid can use them as a reference to help you design a new texture.

Mistakes happen. Usually if you want to get something done right you have to go back and redo your work. For example, I spent almost an entire day making changes to my maid templates because of a little mistake I made with the grid dimensions. All of the little squares were slightly smaller than my original template, so when I copied the layer of details onto the new grid, everything was a little bit off. I had to cut and paste each bit of information individually to get the details realigned again.
I was playing with a gun that came in a mod i have in my game.
i gave it to my maid, gave her some sugar, then spawned a few zombies. She ran in the house and closed the door and stood there looking out the window

This is just a thought, but ... Java already supports finding certain folders in the computer since, well, almost forever. In the work I'm doing, I could make it look to a different folder, outside of the entire "%appdata%/.minecraft" hierarchy (such as within the "My Documents" folder) for the assets, textures, sounds, et cetera. Would probably be a desired feature for people who already use a backup solution that automatically include the MyDocs folder anyway. -- If the launcher is going to be made to uninstall or delete files we install ourselves, our methodology for managing those resources may need to change..... What say you, fine fellows?
I liked Millenaire too, at one time; I played it casually, but not seriously enough to get to a world quest. What sort of interaction would you be referring to?
But as interesting an idea as it is, it's somewhere between the proverbial "rock and a hard place", before it could see realization. It would be difficult to synchronize my efforts for LMM and Millenaire, since the latter is neither open source, nor has a subset of its features as a public API to use (as of the last time I checked). I tried messaging Kinniken once before, but I get the distinct impression he neither reads his own thread nor his personal messages -- only using the thread to post infrequent update messages.
(In short, cooperative play with LMM + Millenaire would be stalled soon, without Millenaire meeting us halfway.)

For people as me who is lazy to change the .minecraft of place would be a very good implement. But if someone has already moved his/her .minecraft to My Docs for a easier way to access, would have problems?

You have littleMaidMob folder and another called mmm? If so, move that folder inside the other, littleMaidMob, and open then open the .cfg file. Any line should look as this one:
"littleMaidMob.mmm.sound"
"Sound" is whanever sound you want. Hope this helps.
it says default is 30
i set mine to 10 XD
i see about 2-3 villages per a biome
Good points; in hindsight; I had forgotten how impossible to find I would have made them. How about, more like one maid town per 16x16 chunk region? with a tendency to be located in plains, tundra, and desert biomes, over others

Also, would adore Maids/Millenaire interaction. I love Mill
