You have a fortress quite "close" actually... coords to the wart farm in spoilers...

My coords were overworld coords. What coors are those?
(If they're overworld, that's 500 blocks distant, if it's nether coords, it's ~384 blocks distant)
Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.
I can almost confirm that these...Barrow mounds you call them? Are not "good" nodes. These are the Dark Nodes. Or chaos nodes, if something ELSE is a Dark Node.
The white nodes you normally see around the game assuming you spawn near a good cluster of them are Normal nodes. And silverwood nodes are Pure nodes. None "Generate" vis to my knowledge, but take vis from nearby nodes or infused stone.
Good or not, they make a great source for wispy essence, especially if you feed it some small silverwood nodes. The wisps don't seem to spawn outside of the barrow, which makes them a bit of a pain to hunt. They tend to gang on you when you walk in.
Hey, awesome mod, just gonna post some stuff for the budding thaumaturge (in spoilers, in case you don't want hints - though they're not really hints, just suggestions on how to get certain essences easily).
-Seeds (of any kind) and eggs give cheap Permutatio
-Feathers give you renewable Aura (air/wind) and Volito (feather) essence.
-Blaze Rods give you renewable Precantio (Wand symbol) – though if you don’t want to set up a Blaze Farm, Potions of Weakness (made with a water bottle and a spider eye) also have that
-Apples give cheap/renewable Life essence
-Leather gives you farmable Tutamen (Chestplate symbol)
-Paper is a renewable source of Cognito (Knowledge). Use paper instead of books
-Rotten flesh is a farmable source of Corpus, though Corpus also comes from other meats, and can be obtained by standing in a boiling cauldron.
-Cactus is a farmable - and stackable - source of Telum (weapon). Cactus also contains Water, which makes it an ideal source for that essence considering that automatic cactus farms are very easy to make and require no mods to create.
-Arrows also contain Telum, so there's always that.
-Tables (made with planks and wood slabs) are a farmable source of Tool (pickaxe essence)
-Crafting tables are a farmable source of Fabrico essence (anvil)
-Chests are a farmable source of Vacuous essence (void)
-Charcoal is farmable source of Ignis (fire) essence
-Torches are a cheap and farmable source of Lux (Light essence), and can be made entirely out of wood.
-Trapdoors are a renewable source of Motus (Motion) essence
-Pressure plates are a renewable source of Machina (Gear symbol)
-Levers are a renewable and cheap source of Imperito (marionette) essence
-Basically, make a tree farm.
-Slimeballs also have Imperito
-Coal gives you cheap Potentia
-Enderpearls are the only real source of Alienis (aside from Nether Stars) - though if you have EE3 installed, you can get one enderpearl from 4 iron.
-Cobble is farmable Saxum + Fractus. Smelting it doubles your Saxum
-Dirt and Sand give you Solum
-Soulsand is the easiest source of Animus (Ghostly essence). The Whispy Essence that drops from whisps also has Animus - but whisps are much harder to kill.
-Silverwood trees are the easiest source of Purus essence (Pure). While you cannot use bonemeal on Silverwood Saplings to make them grow faster, each tree yields a high number of leaves and logs, with the added bonus of shifting an aura node closer or creating a new one entirely - so they are farmable. My advice is to punch the leaves off until you get the number of saplings you want (I aim for one or two), then shear the rest of them off to save for their essence (or you could place and break them later if you find yourself running out of silverwood saplings)
-Glass is a cheap (and depending on what other mods you have, renewable) source of Vitreus (crystal) essence. To increase your output per piece of sand in survival mode, use Glass Panes - you can get 16 panes with 1 essence each from 6 glass blocks with 2 essence each (6x2=12, so four additional essence per six glass blocks).
-Music disks have the Sonus (sound) and Carus essences on them, with each disk posessing a unique combination of other essences. It is possible - though very difficult and dangerous - to farm them, so this makes aspects like Sonus and Carus (chalice symbol) renewable essences.
-Carus can also be obtained from Gold Bars (4 essence per item), Lapis Lazuli (1 epi)
-All metal nuggets have Metal as their only essence, whereas their ingots usually have eight metal and one of another essence on them. If you're trying to transmute metals, nuggets are pretty much the way to go.
I realize this may be a dumb question, but I'm trying to update my Thaumcraft from 3.0.0c to 3.0.0g. how do I do this without losing all my Thaumcraft progress so far or will it automatically stay?
I know this question may have already been posed, but going through 87 pages right now would be nearly impossible.

Feel free to add to it if you desire.
Boats for Motus as well.
IE: Make a large tree farm.
Chicken Farm is by far the best thing to make for TC3, out of everything.
Evil is from Zombie Brains, Ghast Tears, and Wither Skeleton Heads (all mob heads, technically, but only one drops).
You've got just about all the easier, renewable stuff covered.
.... 'The air around you suddenly becomes suffused with strange energies.' o.o
Speed 1 for 5 seconds(ish).
Also, pure white wisps are friendly. It's about time I found one that didn't want to devour my soul.

Well, that was the point - to make a list of all the "easy" essences to get, so you can prioritize which essences you have, which essences you can craft, and which essences you need to go exploring for.
Also,
Boats may have motus (and doors do too, I think), but they don't stack. Though looking at it, you do get more motus per boat...
And if you're looking for Malus (evil), ghast tears drop much more reliably than heads do (Hey, didn't say it was an easy essence)
Yay, it's finally out! You sure have made some changes, Azanor! One quick question, the crafting table mad of 4 infused stone, how does that work? The thauminomicon says it has something to do with aspects, but I'm not sure how.
-Carrots are a reliable and renewable source of Visum (2 each)
-Cocoa is a great source of Potentia (2 each), it grows like a weed and has fewer extra essences than charcoal does
I thought those two were particularly clever.
-Wooden shovels give 2 Instrumentum and only cost 1.5 wood planks
-Wooden bowls give 1 Vacuous. This is nearly three times the Vacuous per plank as chests, but also three times the Lignum to deal with.
Azanor, was it an intended feature to have in Extrabiomes, in the meadow biome, a dungeon like hill with mob spawners and a high amount of flux? Because I found this twice, only I didn't know the area had high flux.
Also, how do I lower the flux!? I kinda made my home on a high pint. XP
Minor bug report: When I turn on NEI's Highlight tips and mouse over greatwood leaves, they change to silverwood leaves on client only, reverts on relog. Minor on its own, but worrisome.
It's random as far as i can tell. I've found them to be one of the rarest crystal shards, along with earth, while magic and fire are average, and air being extremely common. I found mine by exploring ravines and the tunnels connecting them though.
I've found every kind of shard, that just sounds like bad luck. I've only ever found two air-infused ore blocks though, but tons of earth and vis-infused ore.

sometimes potion effects*
Not guaranteed to be a negative one.
I've crafted a handful of neat toys (Travellers' boots, infernal furnace, golems, etc), but now I can't seem to be able to start any new researches.
Any idea what I'm doing something wrong (if I'm doing something wrong at all)?
