I install all my mods etc correctly with Forge and they all work properly. Once I installed Thaumcraft, my game wouldn't load. It says that I require the latest version of Forge for my mods even though I already have it.

I'm betting you're using Forge 7.8.0.684, which isn't the latest version by a long shot. The latest version is 7.8.0.734, which you can get at the official Forge website - which is where you should be downloading Forge from to begin with.
Thaumcraft 3.0.5e requiresat least Forge 7.8.0.688, so that or anything higher should work fine.
Hey Xander, does the Forge version this requires work in 1.5.1?
...and does anyone have any info whatsoever on what might have once occupied the empty data values in the Wisp Essences section? Number 13 is invalid, and is the only invalid data value until 42 (at which point there are a whole bunch).

1.5.1? No. The latest version of Forge for 1.5.1 is 7.7.682. I believe Thaumcraft 3.0.5e is only for 1.5.2.

Dangit.
On that note, though, what has to be changed to make a 1.5.1 mod work in the newer versions? I have a lot of other mods that I run alongside this one; most of them already upgraded, but a few, like Mystcraft, apparently won't work in the newer versions.
You said there were only 3 modpacks that are allowed? I have seen more than 3 modpacks in the technic forums with your mod Thaumcraft in it!
Are they 1.2.5 packs? TC2 has permission to be used in modpacks, just saying. Otherwise, it's kind of one of the problems of "anyone can make a modpack" the Technic platform has.
come on, if you can have a thaumium full armor with repair, why not other armors and weapons?
in my opinion, that would be really awesome!
Because Thaumium requires you to be somewhat invested in Thaumcraft, whereas Diamond doesn't. Also Thaumium is weaker than Diamond. Void Metal Armor (which is possibly being re-implemented into 3.1) requires you to have researched a lot. By that time, you deserve to have infinitely-repairing Aura wrecking Uber-armor.
2) In lan, when someone use the traveler boots on water, the FPS of the other players (server included) DROP to ZERO except from the player who cause the problem. If the problematic player logout, all the other players restore their FPS. This bug is present in 1.4.7 and 1.5.2 version.
can someone confirm / reproduce this problems? thanks!
I'm using Forge 734 and Thaumcraft 3.0.5.e and haven't had any issues so far. What were you doing when it crashed, or did it crash when you tried to start the game?
Hooo-boy, I have no idea what's going on with this. I know I have faced a similar glitch in which a normal zombie stood there like an idiot but was immune to all forms of damage and collision (the entity looked like it hadn't died, but it had, which is the opposite of what you're getting). However, that glitch occurred only twice, in a vanilla minecraft during high single-player lag. I'm guessing one of your other mods conflicts with this.
EDIT: Just to be certain, you DID check your character status conditions, right?
I'm looking into Wispy Essences and their data values, or more accurately, the gaps in their data values. Most gaps are past 40 but there's one lonely little gap sitting there at 13. I'm going to guess that 13 was used for Obscurum. Will post later when I've compiled a list of all data values and wisp aspects.
EDIT: Got it.

Now, what I want to know is, was there ever anything in the missing slots? If so, what was it?
Character status conditions? Afraid I don't quite know what you mean.
Also, after more experimentation, it seems like the death anim is triggering before the zombies are actually dying, showing them fall over and go poof, but allowing them to keep attacking, but ONLY when they didn't drop anything upon death. It seems, then, to be related to their dropping items. :/
hey everyone, I'm a thaumcraft noob and I just downloaded it although I'm a bit tentative. I always wanted to try it but it seems that the addons can be overwhelming for big mods like this, as in down the line you realize that you should have such and such addon to add to the mod but doing so at this point would be a hassle because you already generated and explored your world by a decent sum.
So I am asking if there are any addons you all use that would be easier to apply at the start of the world or in the end, it really doesn't matter. thanks for your replies in advance.
My problem is that i have another mods in my server and a have a really nice fiery armor with very cool enchantments, but reparing it is impossible because is too expensive and a don't want to give up from it, so I sugest this idea
Thaumcraft 3 is balanced around vanilla minecraft so I doubt the repair enchant will change like that. If your armor is really expensive to repair then perhaps you should save it for when you know you will need the extra damage protection, such as preparing to fight a boss mob or pvp. If repair could be put on any armor then thaumium wouldn't be that useful anymore

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
Forestry is probably the the mod that works alongside thaumcraft best. It adds several metals (copper and tin) that have thaumcraft elements, and if you also add the magic bees addon for forestry, you get thaumcraft themed bees in forestry bee breeding.
thanks for the reply, I'll be sure to snag them before I start a new world tomorrow!
On another note lol. I had lots of food installed and according to nei, the recipe to create the initial thaumcraft wand made chocolate instead hehe... probably an id conflict that ill have to look into..
look again. what forge build do you exactly have?

you need an special item to see the nodes, don't worry, if it's a new world, they are there for sure.

that would defeat the purpose of the balance of it.
