If your still looking for ideas/inspiration on 'magic punk' style stuff perhaps look to the first Sherlock Holmes movie (not the game of shadows, the first one). The 'ginger dwarf' was trying to mix "some sort of magic with scientific formula". There are lots of cool magical and alchemical symbols, with various tools that have magical and scientific properties. It may not give you any specific ideas, but it might serve as inspiration.

So sorry if this has been answered, been looking for hours. I have forestry, buildcraft, and magic bees installed as well as thaum and I've researched both the copper and tin transmutation and the entry doesn't have the 'recipe' on the second page and I am unable to actually transmute copper. What do I need to do in order to get this to work? Thanks.
Az i miss the obelisks they were so cool! they also will fix the aura node issue, but cant wait for the update and i know it will be amazing
They were fun, but I agree with Azanor that it felt almost like another tech mod. Gotta say though, I giggled a bit when I heard the reviewer say "aspects" in the video

I really love this mod, but I think I have a Idea for new versions .
I would love a sensor for flux, so when flux is to high it emits a redstone signal or something like that.
do you think it's possible to make such a machine ?

If you put 20$ in a box, I put 20$ in the box too and then I sell you the box for 30$, we both make a 10$ profit, right?

Lots of people are voting for 32x, but I don't think they're considering the fact that not everyone can run HD textures. Personally, I know for a fact that I'll have no problems- my computer is high-end enough that I can play Sphax's x128 with little to no lag, and I play with all Optifine's graphics settings on max and with moderately-sized modpacks, while also running a server. However, many of the players on my server (who generally, if not universally, play with vanilla textures and graphics settings on low) start having difficulties if I start fiddling around with things too much, and I'm sure they'll have difficulties with HD textures sprinkled into the mix.
Not only that, but while those who can't run HD textures might be able to find a nice 16x texture pack that supports Thaum somewhere, those who prefer the vanilla aesthetics (for whatever reason) have a lot more difficulty finding texture packs for mods that fit with vanilla textures- after all, most mods start off at least attempting to fit in with vanilla, with varying degrees of success, and who makes 16x texture packs that look exactly like vanilla? Those of us that prefer HD, on the other hand, can usually find them somewhere, even if we have to cobble it a bit- Sphax provides, if nothing else, and if you're too lazy to put together your own HD texture pack to fit your game in the absence of a premade one (or to learn if you don't know how- there are tutorials, and it's hardly all that difficult), then you should either deal with the occasional out-of-place vanilla texture or play with vanilla textures, instead of potentially forcing people to deal with unwanted lag if they also want to play with Thaum.
HD textures also take longer to make, time that I'm sure could be spent making Thaumcraft even better than it already is. I think it's best to leave HD textures to the fanmade texture packs, though of course it's ultimately your choice.
(Also, mixing resolutions is typically a bad idea, as they usually don't fit together very well- though. I suppose I should actually play the new Thaum and see how it looks before judging. However, perhaps you could provide the HD textures as alternate textures, instead of including them in the base mod?)
I am using the latest recommended forge and I am getting that forge could not be found?

Really it's your own fault for b*tching at other people rather than looking for yourself. It's as simple as looking at the forge file version and comparing it to what FML's asking for. If you look around (That link is also on the top of the Forge Forums) people have asked this question before, and others and myself have answered it more than a couple times before.

It's called having a problem then presenting it. Not b*tching.
This has been a problem before? Than why are you complaining if people are having trouble.
Just give them a hand.

Wow blast from the past.
Ehh... almost is the key word there.

This is a good point.

Same, anyone know how to fix this?

The latest recommended is 684. Thaumcraft requires 688 minimum. Is it really that hard to figure out?

Awesome! Thanks ***hole.
