Eh it doesn't matter anymore world was deleted in my rage and I started a new world and I do say I happen to like where I spawned jungle.. full of redpower rubber trees. Bit of time in creative is allowing me to implement the building I wanted to build which you moonra also wanted to build which is that pyramid within a pyramid like structure floating in the sky with the pyramid mirrored above and below.
Progress...
do note the outline you see is just for reference (it'll be taken down once the outline is done) and once I get a bit of the ground work done I'm switching back to survival so I can mostly build it legit.
Ha, stole my idea, which was based on me stealing yours. I'll try to make the "arms" wider.
The tower from Ars Magica is giving me a nice opportunity to roleplay. The tower is originally built with Cracked and Mossy Stone Bricks and now that I have established myself in it, I'm beginning to change these with normal ones, "repairing" it.

rough area for which I had to map out before from the center of the structure is 67 blocks so each one of the straight arms (not the ones that are between the larger arms) are 67 blocks long. So basically the structure is quite large. Gonna be a heck of a time decorating the interior of it. Further more I posted the plan I came up with so people like you would be inspired to make something out of it
To answer your previous statement, yes, you CAN do this, but it WILL cause a whole assload of Flux all over the place, so you'll have to think what's more important. Lots of Precantio or your node's stability.
Not a problem. My tallow golems carry all the Precantatio to the nearby jars, and the Corpus gets transformed back into Tallow. Although I've stopped doing it now since it's clearly not supposed to be this way.
As for my node, it's already unstable as f**k. I'll be moving all my stuff to the nearest village and use my old base to farm wisps in.

It's better to ask a stupid question than not knowing the answer.
So what is the maximum distance for two nodes to combine? I'm trying to move/enlarge the primary node for my base but If I grow the tree too far away the node will move out of position or worse they won't combine and I'll have wasted a silverwood sapling.

(6:50:00 AM) Simon-v: How do you live in a world where Everything's Trying To Kill You?

you can get infinite Praecantatio aspects for free by throwing Tallow in the crucible, as it gives back exactly enough Corpus as it took to create, plus one unit of Praecantatio. Tallow should be fixed to only give two Corpus in my opinion.
(I couldn't find the spoiler function)
You don't get "infinite" praecantio. You require the use of a wand when doing the process -- this method turns vis in the aura into the praecantio aspect.

larger the node the further away it'll drag nodes towards it. Largest node I had that drew nodes towards it was around 3-4k aura and it was drawing nodes towards it from 20-30 blocks away.
It actually is broken right now and won't work with my current Mo'Creatures or my current Forge version. Apparently it's a forge problem and they're waiting on Forge to fix it.
So can anyone tell me how to edit the class or config or anything to make the Firebats go away?
If I delete EntityFirebat.class will it hurt anything or will it just remove the firebats?
If I can't delete it, is there anything in that mass of text that I can change to reduce their spawn? That's what I really want to do. There's TOO many of the things.
If anyone can help, please. I've been trying to watch for the mod creator in the IRC but haven't seen him there.
I have seen this asked several places. Please, help.
I have no clue other than that mod. If it's broken right now I'd suggest just waiting for it to be fixed. If that many are spawning it might be an issue with Mo' Creatures - I know that Angry Zombies were spawning really fast with both TC3 and Mo' Creatures installed. I don't know if that's been fixed, or if it's related, but there's that.
You know, after doing a lot of research, I really wish there were some type of scrying tool. Basically, my thought is that it be a device powered by the aura, probably very inefficient and flux producing, but can be used to generate aspects for research. Only for research, though. Basically, I'm thinking of an upgraded research table. Maybe with higher success rates normally, and a third setting for "Scry" that is even more costly in the vis and flux department, but doesn't even need research materials...or it needs them (third setting or not), but sometimes generates progress in additional aspects besides what's being used. Could also be higher loss than usual.

Maybe it could only generate aspects that are nearby? So people couldn't get aspects they don't already have, just aspects they might not want to use a lot of for research.
Even then though it seems a little broken, considering how easy it is to just pack up and move if the aura gets too low/the flux gets too high.
Hmm, also apparently nodes block the spawn height of trees despite you being able to manually place blocks over nodes. I guess I'll just have to dig a pit below the node I want to lower.
Edit: Also I'd like to suggest an Orrery. Basically its a multiblock structure you place maps into and on one of its facings its projects the map and shows you the location of nodes and their type. however it requires moonlight to function.
Do note though the larger the nodes are when merging the more they move. Say if I had a 1500 node 20 blocks away from another 1500 node the two start moving towards one another. It's tricky to get them where you want but having a healthy supply of silverwood saplings to grow trees makes it slightly easier to do.

How the hell does one even get a "Healthy Supply" of them? I've only ever found like...Four.

Resident Thaumaturge cake-dragon at your service o:
As a result of my inefficient Thaumaturgy in using IC2 Refined Iron for two Flux filters, I now have a high flux level in the Aura node just NW of where my Thaumatorium is located. I've already encountered a few Wisps, one of which attacked me, so I shot and killed it with my Power V, Flame I enchanted bow.
I have since gotten 4 Arcane Alembics set up on that crucible, and plan to set some up on a second one eventually.
Although I haven't seen any more wisps, the Flux level remains high, and my Silverwood tree, which I cut down for logs and replanted the sapling from, won't regrow. I have two Aura nodes inside my base, one is where the tree used to be, the other was there with the world generation.
How long does it take for high Flux levels to dissapate, assuming I don't let any more unused aspects into the Aura?

Mystcraft age + Sickle + anything that lets you jump high or fly + axe + alottatimeomgcry = Lots of Silverwood Saplings.
