I'm currently using the Attack of the B-Team modpack for a small server for a friend and I. The pack includes the Map Writing mod, but whenever either of us disconnects, when we reconnect, our maps are completely unexplored. I don't know if this is a feature or anything, but I'm wanting it to keep the explored zones as they were on the map when we log off. Is there any way to fix this?
Is there any way via MapWriterBlockColourOverrides.txt to make specific blocks invisible on the map?
I have Natura installed and don't want to see the clouds on the map anymore
Apparently by setting the colour of those blocks to 00000000. There should/may actually be a line for air (blockid 0) like that already, as an example.
For some reason mapwriter portrays my empty quarries on a flat bedrock (y=0) tekkit legends world as nonexistent/invisible. Once the quarry mines the last layer of stone or netherrack at y=1, the map erases the area and portrays the generic black background with light grey grid, making my map appear as if that area is a hole in the universe. I tried customizing the color of bedrock to silver, ffc0c0c0, in the map writer color overrides file....but that didn't work. I noticed that bedrock is already a grey color anyway in the main color config file. I tried deleting my mapwriter IP folder in my saves directory and that deleted all my map data just fine, but when I re-map the problematic quarries they show up as a void again.
On a side note, the reason I had to retrogen my tekkit legends multiplayer server to flat bedrock in the first place was because gascraft or engineer's toolbox didn't spawn any shale natural gas bedrock, or shale plasma bedrock in the nether. That was with the bedrock layers set to uneven/default. Once I converted it to flat and set the eng_toolbox config file to re-generate shale resources, the shale gas bedrock blocks appeared as they should, but now my map is messed up. FYI, I tried using the 'R' key within Map Writer to rebuild the map from the region files but that didn't work either. The other previously mined quarries still show up as normal because retrogen converted all the y=1 through y=5 bedrock to natural stone...but once I re-quarry through all of those down to flat bedrock, the map shows a void again.
i'm updating this mod, but moved all development to a new thread.
as for the bedrock not showing is becouse the map starts at Y=1 and needs something below it to show anything on the map. i will add it on my todo to see if i can build a workaround for it.
as for the flickering bug, i'm aware of it but as most people havent found a permanent solution for it. you can always log out and back in en the map should have fixed it self.
Hi there, I've been using this mod for quite some time but recently just got back into minecraft a little. I'm having a problem though that the map keeps re-setting to the first time I ran the game. I'll explore, add waypoints, but then the next time I load it's as if I didn't explore at all. Any idea what could be causing this?
Map writer is by far my favorite minimap mod. The only problem is when I zoom out on the large main map. If I zoom out to far I just plain crash. Is there a way i can fix this?
Help! I don't know what I did, but now I can't see my player deaths. I wanted to change to an old version of the mod in my server and now I can't see my player deaths. Anyway to fix this/restart it?
what version of forge are you using?
are there any errors in the logs?
try and find if a mod is incompatible by adding them 1 by 1 until the problem shows up.

there seems to be a problem with saving the map sometimes, i'm not sure why or when this happens, could you send/post me the logs?

hmmm that's still for 1.6.4, i would advice to update to a newer modpack.....
as for your problem, do you have a dedicated server running the game, or do you use open to lan?

Page 24 of this thread addresses the big map 'blinking' or 'flickering', and suggests that the bug was fixed in version 2.0.16.
I am currently experiencing the exact same issue but I am running a much later version (the most recent for 1.7.10); 2.1.10.
Should I swap out for the older version?
