Tell Jeb to stop screwing with Minecraft and maybe we won't be losing good mods and modders who are fed up with the weekly update spam and constant addition of completely useless junk to base game.
If too many of my favorite mods die off, I too will leave the Minecraft community because of Jeb; I may not know how to make mods my self, but I do my best to help people who have questions about them or help track down bugs in the mods.

He doesn't add "useless junk". Have you notice that people SUGGEST the stuff be added? He is adding what the COMMUNITY wants to see. Most updates are BUG FIXES. If a mod developer does not want to update a mod because of the facts I have stated then he is lazy.

no, but he seems to enjoy pushing bug fixes out instead of properly testing snapshots sometimes.

Those who PLAY the snapshots test them. THEY are the ones who are to report the bugs. He waits a amount of time before making another snapshot push. Do you guys not even look at the bug report forum?

do you not see the bugs that get reported but don't get fixed till the next update?
No duh, but that doesn't mean that they aren't getting fix. Just stop QQing and play the mods that do get updated. It isn't that hard.
1.5, 1.5.1, 1.6 in snapshot testing, 1.5.2....all in less than 2 months. that is nuts. He should have waited on till it was at 1.5.2 before releasing 1.5! or even merge 1.5 and 1.6 at this speed!

There are several mods I consider essential to my Minecraft worlds, if they don't get updated, I don't run the game, it is simple as that.
You are just like all the other Jeb-crafters out there, you don't care about the modding community, you only care about the "new" weekly feature or item.
I prefer to have stable mod heavy worlds that are meant to last long periods of time, instead of ugly miss-matched worlds that get worse every week.
I agree with Kye_Duo, Jeb needs to stop with his update spamming to allow people to enjoy the worlds or mods created for Minecraft, because if there is no enjoyment to playing a game, then what is the point of playing it anymore.

As you may remember if you have been playing for more than a year, The same thing also happened while Notch was in charge of development. However, until Beta 1.8 there were no snapshots (called pre-releases at the time) and multiple bug-fix releases came out within the first couple of weeks of release of a major version.
The other problem of that time is there was no way to test for bugs except for Mojang to test them themselves and the community would get angry about bugs that did not get fixed for months. With the bug report site and the snapshots, Mojang can slam through all the bugs at their own reasonable pace without the stress of having to test for bugs as well.
However, when people complain about the work that Mojang has done, such as adding commonly requested features and not hanging up on the bugs, we can see more content come out for vanilla.
The whole reason they are pushing out updates so fast is they are trying to get the ultimately requested and promised feature since Beta 1.3: a way to mod that is safe, convenient to both modders and players alike, and supported by Mojang. Mods that are very good may even be implemented into the game if Mojang feels they fit, and the modder will get PAYED by Mojang to use their mod. This happened similarly with DrZhark, although you would have to ask him if he got payed.
To continue on with the update rant, the reason they add features is to make up for the update push, not to vex modders. Without the feature updates, the community would get mad at Mojang for not giving them anything while they still updated the game engine and launcher. Therefore, Mojang has given updates to the content as well as the back-end work.
Webmilio, I would like to let you know this is not aimed at you or modders out there; it is to the naive community that apparently doesn't understand modding, it's time consumption, and Mojang's reasoning for pushing updates. If I knew where to post this other than your post I would, but I don't.
Back once again to the snapshots, the snapshots are NOT mandatory. You can play solely the current release of Minecraft and never play the snapshots if you wish. They are intended for testers, not the general public. They do not release weekly snapshots for the fun of it, they want the public who cares about bugs to test them, report them, and let Mojang handle the rest. The bug fix list at the end of every snapshot is only the surface of what people find, and therefore what Mojang fixes.
Sorry about the rant, and thanks webmilio for letting me use your post to get this out. There seems to be a lot more people who are not understanding of the situations involved than most areas.

Here is the list of bugs including fixed, unresolved, WON'T FIX, and WORKS AS INTENDED. You'd be surprised how many bugs are in the last two categories if you'd just look. https://mojang.atlas...napshot 13w19a"

That was very informative and probably the only wall of text that I have ever liked. +1
Well, I suppose the last few pages of posts is proof that you just can't please everyone. XD
Also, I specifically remember seeing a video (I think it was recorded at Minecon) of the developers saying that one of their goals was to re-write Minecraft in such a way that every feature, from minecarts to potion-brewing, counts as an add-on that can be enabled/disabled, so that mods can easily be implemented and not have to update for every version change. THIS will be epic.
(If someone knows where that video is, please link it.)

I've never seen that video but having the whole game basically be split up and being able to disable ANY THING and re-enable would be a god send. I can think of a ton of things that I would change back and if the server could push to player's configs that would be pretty neat. Hey and then Kurt could update ( that is if they add the fix that adds "ghost chunks" ).
I really want this mod, and it would be so cool if you can get this done. However, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, but you don't seem entirely enthused about completing this mod anymore. It would seem to me that you are doing it more out of obligation than passion. I can guarantee there is no one more psyched about this mod than myself and I look forward to playing it again (I check daily or more for updates). But I personally don't want you to work on the mod if it is not something you are excited about or really wanting to do. There are obviously others things in your life, and being a father of four, I know how life can get. What I'm really saying is this: I release you from the obligations and burdens of this mod. Only work on it if you are truly driven too. I believe any reasonable person awaiting the fruits of your efforts would agree. . . .maybe.

That comment just made me want to work on it. You were right, I was doing it from obligation, especially since a mod that adds lasers is out. But now I really want to work on it. So this summer, once I get my OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! exams done, I sure will work on it.
Edit: If you guys agree with Slae, vote his post up.

As for mods, they are working on the Plugin API right now. The source that can be edited and tested is on GitHub:https://github.com/Mojang/Minecraft-API

How about making an ETA?

Restarted the project. That download link was for like 1.3? Idk.
