Not sure, that's what I'm going to look up. If it's doable, I might whip up a plugin. I've been meaning to get into developing mods for a while and this would be a good place to start.
I think being able to edit your player would be useful. Mainly for flying speed since I always find flying too slow.
I don't think it's possible to deal with NBT tags... but it might be.
This mod works really awesomely with Lan worlds or ion single player, however,a multiplayer version is definitely needed for those who would want to work on adventure maps with other players from around the world. If the multiplayer version actually gets released, i am sure that this mod will be able to do much better!
The version is universal - SSP and SMP. The server just needs to have Forge and the mod installed.
For suggestions, I agree with the others about making a keybind for moving entities. Also it would be nice to have a button for inserting a "§" sign. Also, I think it should be allowed in sp creative without cheats enabled. As a map-maker, I make my worlds survival, no cheats, and use TMI to go to creative. Also, the ability to edit players would be nice. It's really fine if you don't do these things, though. This mod has already done so much for map-making.
Just put your stuff into a chest. Pretty much the same thing.
I'm not sure if you should be able to edit yourself. You can do some crazy things...
The view is distorted... I set walk speed to .3 (it is normally .1)
Are you even able to access NBTTags on Bukkit?
The view is distorted because usually when you drink speed potions the speed boost gives you a little distorted view, a super high fast walking will give a super distorted view.

Self-editing would be very nice, because otherwise you have to use an external editor or go through needlessly complex steps to edit things (say I want to enchant a sword with ridiculous enchants; I have to stick it in a chest or an oven and edit that to get to the item). It's not like editing other players, since you're doing it to yourself.

Yes. That would be, and making yourself instabuild in survival, and invulnerability
hmm...that would be awesome But i dont hink minecraft supports that.

Add a compound inside CustomPotionEffects for each effect.
Wow! I didn't realize this is possible:
Go to a potion's Compound Tag
-Add a new compound and name it "tag"
-Add a new list to that compound and name it "CustomPotionEffects"
-Add your potion compounds to the list. See here and here.
The mod doesn't edit vanilla minecraft. Sorry, but I don't think that it's possible.

Very Useful, but I like changing the beacon powers instead of having to edit the player.
(Warning: NEVER have both Instant health and Instant damage for beacon powers at the same time)

I assume we're talking about map making here. In that case I agree. Potions can be unreliable when you want to add give all players a certain effect regardless of the players wants. But, potions are better for use when the player decides to use an effect.

Can you add potion effects to food?
Potion effect giving food sounds like a really good idea for map makers, eating the wrong piece of food gives you the Wither effect. I hope that is possible.

Aww thats too bad. I was thinking you could modify vanilla minecraft just the tiny little bit, because i bet minecraft adventure map makers would be SUPER HAPPY on what you are doing
Or maybe you could make a second mod that adds custom armor potion effects, custom enchantments and custom potion effects
You need to install Forge on your server. Then, just put the NBTEdit zip file into your server's mods folder. That's it!
Why don't you like Forge?
Do you know if forge is compatable with bukkit? I don't know if it would be, but my server is really dependent on bukkit's plugins (chest protection, etc), so a vanilla server would not work for me. I would really love to use your mod to maintain my server's map to a better extent (without having to mcedit).
Is there a way to install this NBTEditor on servers without Forge? o_o my friends doesn't use Forge, and if they don't have Forge they can't enter a server running with Forge. (My friends don't use Forge because they only use 2 mods - TooManyItems and Optifine, so they find it unnecessary)

No, no, Forge does not work on bukkit! http://mcportcentral...Ports_for_1.4.2 This should tide you over for now, but you have to get your favourite bukkit plugin authors to come over to forge, if you really need their plugins.

What do you think? Editing yourself?
Exactly!

Let me know how it goes!

It can work. Only TextField in Vanilla doesn't support §.
In the future, I will try to add that! Thanks!
Implemented in the new version!
A future update will include such options.
That's true.. I forgot about that
Yeah, I'd need to re-do the Text Field.
Implemented! Use the command "/nbtedit me"
Yeah, put them in a chest and edit the chest or use "/nbtedit me" to edit yourself.
I don't think that you can.
hmm...Thats good
Also. You should add ability to make it so when you wear armor theres a potion effect. I rly need that, can u add it?
Edit: Distorted View.... ya

You can, just add more than one.
