Thank you David for this mod! I don't know if this your fault, or if it's the structure of NBT, but I can't give items damage values. I get "Not a valid short code". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A short has a max value of 32767. Anything higher than that won't work.
I wanted to change the DropChances of a spawner because some of it were set to 10E9. I changed those to 1.0 'cause I think that makes it always drop (please correct if I'm wrong, I wasn't able to test that). When I looked back at that spawner my settings were still the same but when I looked at a different spawner and then back to this one the settings were back as they were before I saved (with the 10E9s). Did I do something dumb or is this a bug?
Hmm... it appears as if there's another NBTTag when you make customers spawners... did you try deleting that one when you edited the "SpawnData" tag?
I don't really know how to use NBTEdit perfectly yet. I now tried deleting it and when looking back at it after looking at another spawner I had same thing as before.
My screen is looks like this:
The image appears to be broken...
EDIT: Now it's back. Try changing the drop chances back to 0.05 and deleting the "SpawnPotentials" tag
Hey there. I just tried installing this but I crash every time. I've tried with the latest version of FML which says "Failed to start game" and then quits. If I try with the recommended version, I just get a black screen. When I remove this mod from the mod folder, the game starts up just fine.

1. Are you in 1.4.6?
2. Do you have any other mods installed?
3. If you do, did you make sure Forge was the first thing you installed?
I'm on 1.4.6, no other mods. Forge is installed first. I did a clean download and install multiple times with both Forge and this mod. Still getting the same error.

Try using an older version of Forge - perhaps the version that you're using isn't stable. Confirmed to work on Forge v6.5.0.467. Also, install Forge into the minecraft.jar, but just put the NBTEdit zip file in the mods folder.
I have this installed and it says it's loaded under MODs, but I can;t activate it. I'm in 1.4.6 now. On 1.4.5 I know there was a place to set the key, I can't find it now.
EDIT:
Using "/nbtedit" worked for me, I didn't see that posted before - sorry.

I've got the exact same problem. I hope there is a solution to it. :/

If it is on Bukkit then you need the plug-in for it.
I'd like a way to set it so this works without turning cheats on. I use it to edit maps I've made that have cheats turned off. Easy workaround is to 'Open to LAN' with cheats on. But any extra step I don't have to do makes me slightly more efficient. Especially when I log in and out like 10 times because I'm always switching back and forth to MCEdit.

You can change the firework type and you can give it custom colors. There is an int-array that is a list of color RGBs - edit it to add custom colors.

(just checking your progress on it xD)
......
you already can
You already can! On the edit value screen, I added a "§" button and a "\n" button.
The image appears to be broken...
EDIT: Now it's back. Try changing the drop chances back to 0.05 and deleting the "SpawnPotentials" tag
The "SpawnData" tag overwrites the already-existing spawner data, and the "SpawnPotentials" tag overwrites the "SpawnData" tag.
