This is a wonderful mod for map makers and servers who like to add custom things. Is it possible to link this in the main post? It's the wiki page showing all NBT tags for minecraft.

Wow, that's exactly what I was looking for! Added the links to the first post. I do intend to add examples though - any suggestions?
Looks good, can you load an external .dat file with it?
Currently no, but it's definitely a possibility - the GUI is created from a NBTTag. What .dat file did you want to edit in-game? I could possibly make some feature in the menu screen that lets you do this.
/nbtedit while looking at Entity
/nbtedit -EntityId#-
/nbtedit -TileX- -TileY- -TileZ-
Other than that, it depends what exactly you want to do? If you want to add enchantments, I suggest that you either read up on the wiki (links in the first post) and/or enchant some items and see what happens to their NBT tags.
Davidee, I have a question, I can't seem to figure out how to edit the player. =/
What exactly did you want to edit? I removed the ability to edit players because it's inherently unsafe (in multiplayer). But why? If you want to edit items, simply edit a chest. But I could always add the ability to edit yourself in SP.
You cannot edit yourself, that's up to the server or it's owners, or both. It's physically impossible to aim at yourself to even attempt it.
Although, I am having one issue: I cannot figure out what to put in a head to make it a certain player's skull. The wiki is being of no use, as it just says to add an NBT string tag, which I did, and put in "SkullOwner" -> (player name) So I've tried all the possible iterations of those values, and nada is happening. I've tried it on both placed skulls, and ones in chests, and it's aggrivatin' me.
Oh, and the mod works great though It is indeed fun to make zombies invincible and make them eternally burn in lava.
This might turn out to be a big mod. Does this allow you to edit mob spawners so you can spawn armored mobs?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
This, is simply amazing. I can edit things easily now!
But, can you make some way to export the selection to a .schematic or .dat file? It would make it easier for me to test in one world than move to another. Just a suggestion. (Maybe you could have an import feature as well?)
This mod allows opped users to edit nbt tags in game - modify both regular entities and tile entities without even closing your game!
It works in both SinglePlayer and MultiPlayer, although you need to be Op to use the command (/nbtedit)
For windows, PRE 1.6 :

Thank you!
That would be awesome!
Anyways, updated to version 1.4.2.1. Fixed minor packet broadcast bug.
I was tired of exiting the game to use NBTEdit.
/nbtedit while looking at a Entity.
Past that depends on what you want to do.
Thanks!

This is a mod that has been needed for a very long time. So much easier now testing and editing custom spawners, etc.
You are a life saver man!
I really hope you are able to keep this updated with the minecraft updates. This is great work!
Again, thanks!
Shortwind
I cannot wait the 2 minutes to install it! I am happy now.
Yeah.

You're welcome!

Yeah.
Not the most wonderful of video makers, but it gets the point across of what it's capable of.

Thanks for this, man!
