Launch minecraft and close out of it after getting to the main menu
Now open the newly added mods folder inside of your .minecraft, and paste EmeraldTools.zip into it.
Launch minecraft and play
Information
Emerald Tools are slightly better than diamond, and a little more durability mainly due to the fact that emeralds are a little harder to find and require more emerald to create a tool.
I am using no block ids except for item ids 29000-29010 but this can be changed under your config/EmeraldTools. This so far seems to be compatible with everything, if not leave a reply and tell me so I can fix it. Leave any suggestions in the comments aswell
Recipes
*Note* The recipe for Emerald Chunks is a shapeless recipe as in you can put 3 emerald in any shape you want to get a chunk.
Legal
You can do whatever you want with my mods, just as long as you ask my permission before doing so.
Well, I've tried it, and it's working just fine with a lot of major mods (twilight forest, metallurgy, extrabiomesxl etc) so it seems very mod friendly
I have a question. I use MCPatcher, and I know you can add mods to the .jar through Patcher, but I've never done anything with Forge before. I have winRAR, and know how to use it, but I was wondering if I could use Patcher to insert Forge into the .jar. Any help would be great!
That aside, this mod looks amazing, and I hope to download it and use it quite frequently!

You should be able to install forge with patcher, otherwise its the same as installing modloader. Just make sure my mod goes directly into the created mods folder and not into the jar.
Update
Sorry for the delay, been busy with stuff. I should have an update with less bugs and armor added by the end of the week. Last issue right now is getting armor to render correctly.
NEW Emerald tools/armor now requires emerald rather ingots/chunks. Ingots and chunks now removed. Works with both 1.4.7 and 1.4.6
Update
New version released, requires Minecraft 1.4.7/1.4.6 and the latest Minecraft forge found below.

Yes that means armor is comming soon too ;P

Also, can emerald picks break obsidian?
Also Also, first!
It seems like it cannot, I will fix that right now
To install for the server, its exactly the same as for the client except you dont delete meta-inf for the server
