You get access to a lot of cool stuff, to name one: dalek mod pre-releases and the best one: you'll have creative on both the beta testers' server and the public one(when it'll open)the beta server is a lot of fun too and it's a good place where you can build without having to worry about griefers and such
Are the beta tester server and Dalek Mod Universe the same? because I've heard DMU is private, but I can't always trust my sources.

Dalek Mod Universe is the Beta server and will stay private after the initial public release of Update 40, only accessible to the Beta Testers. There however will also be a public server which everyone will be free to play on, however all users apart from staff will be in survival.
